    I'm glad for their ending despite the mess they made of Danny's character.
    Wish they could have developed their eventual reunion much better and longer for it to feel that it was truly earned.
    I think in this moment it was understandable that Danny didn't pick up that Mindy wanted to try again considering his behaviour at the end of their relationship and that she left him.
    I imagine Danny believed Mindy would never want to be with him again.
    The thing I especially like about the last scene is when Danny finally finds Mindy on the floor at the vending machine trying to get the candy, he gets a little smile on his face, showing he loves Mindy's quirks like her constant eating!

    I'm still super angry that they made Danny's character so douchey after season 2. It's the type of anger I get when I think about the Rachel and Joey pairing. Sometimes the writers did the most when they didn't have to.

    I like that Danny grew and was finally able to accept Mindy in the end, giving up many of his judgmental views, to be with the mother of his child so they can be a happy family. But I still wonder if Mindy and Cliff would’ve worked out if Danny hadn’t kissed her in the airplane. Cliff always seemed like a good boyfriend and good match for Mindy, it’s a shame they never got a chance to see their relationship through. It was very selfish of Danny to swoop in at that time when Mindy could’ve explored her relationship with another good guy.

    • @yoyodawson7288
      @yoyodawson7288 Před 9 měsíci +3

      No they wouldn’t have worked out simply because of Cliff’s trust issues with Mindy. I feel like he was too insecure that when it can to Casey and the pool party situation because it kind of seemed like he wasn’t ready to be in a relationship with Mindy or simply didn’t really want to be with her. Mindy asked him to move in with her but he was hesitant and seemed like he didn’t wanted to move in with her by getting an apartment for himself as an excuse not to. Danny may have been harsh in his delivered speech of Cliff being a man who doesn’t want to be with her but it was also true because he needed confirmation from her friends at the pool party that nothing happened between her and Casey. I feet like Cliff has commitment issues, trust issues, and Mindy was always pushing for steps to be taken in their relationship that would have later in the relationship caused resentment of time wasted on someone who didn’t want to be with her.

    I kind of like how Danny's personality changes since it reflected how he avoided marriage due to his insecurities around how he saw his mom during her marriage. It helps us to see why Danny was that way towards Mindy. He eventually tells his mom in one episode how she saw how Danny's dad left his mom with alot of responsobilites so thats why Danny was harsher and wanted to avoid making the same mistake.

    I have just finished watching this show. I really loved season 1 as it was funny, gal pal and coming of age drama. And the way they build up Danny and Mindy's relation was so romantic like you see on Romcoms. But from the moment they entered into this relationship this drama has took a turn. The way writers layered the reality of modern relationships into comedic storylines is phenomenal. With season 4 this drama is so empowering in disguise of a romantic sitcom. With little things like Mindy never lived into her beautiful home just because Danny didn't like it, When Mindy moved to SF for a program and Danny supporting her as if he is doing a favor, Danny never fixing his own problems and insecurities but projecting that on Mindy, mindy constantly feeling less of herself and always thinking Danny is the smarter one etc.
    But I really liked how they took a break from each other. They evolved in their own way. We all are toxic in a way. But things get real scary when we can't fight with our own toxicity and project that on people that are close to us. With time Danny and Mindy changed, their priorities changed, the way they used to see things have changed. I love how this show stays true to the reality that life gets hard, emotion changes, priorities change but with love, friendship and time things get better. You need to give it time. And it is hella slow process.
    I would recommend this show for everyone who is in their late 20's specially ladies. And one more thing that we already know that going after your dreams and making so many mistakes make you become the best version of yourself as you learn from those mistakes, but this show really means it.

      @HaddyAppleAday Před 2 lety +5

      You really saw how this progressed differently to me. I always saw their relationship as toxic, even in the end. The fact that he calls his grandmother disgusting 🤮. I felt like they changed Mindy’s character to be more self absorbed and selfish because they knew they wanted them together in the end so she had to match his douchery so that the audience would accept it.

    • @tasfiatahsin4887
      @tasfiatahsin4887 Před 2 lety +3

      @@HaddyAppleAday I would agree that in season 5 and 6 Mindy's character was portrayed more immature and self centered whereas she was acting more maturely by finding her self worth while she was in a relationship with Danny. That was a bad buzz for me. Danny was always childlike and a bit manipulative and controlling but at the end of the series he was acknowledging Mindy for who she was by accepting all of her strengths and weaknesses. I am not totally fan of Mindy Danny relationship but I really liked the evolution of these characters that how they became more grounded, and caring towards themselves and others.

    Danny just goes wherever the wind takes him, makes decisions based on jealousy and insecurity, and will drop her yet again the next time she says or does something he can’t manipulate her into changing. I can only hope she leaves him for good after the last episode. Mindy + Casey forever. I’d love a spinoff with Morgan, Tamra, and Colette.

    I don't like that Mindy and Danny wound up together. But I will admit that there are parts of this scene that--isolating them from my feelings on the relationship--I like a lot. Like the exchange between Danny and his family. And I do think that the performance on the "That you love me again" was superb. There was so much hope and doubt his face---you can tell Danny thought it was a long shot even as he was saying it. Shame the ending didn't feel earned--but it's not for lack of effort on the part of the actors.

    I was really upset that Mindy and Danny ended up together. Danny was toxic (and a fucking dinosaur in terms of ideology) to say the least and I was really upset that Mindy was not able reach her potential in terms of her career and her personal life. She is so capable. She would have achieved so much if wasn't for deadweight Danny pulling her back from being the best. She is such a good doctor in the show and has such a charming personality that she could have pulled WAY better than Danny. In fact, she did pull a lot better guys than Danny.
