      Yeah, when I was teaching I developed this because it gets the point across fast and gives pretty satisfying results for someone who is new to the program. Don't worry, I have others where I may or may not go on and on myself, but I try to keep them short.

    Terrific tutorial! Head and shoulders above others. I actually learned STUFF. Most of these are so bad you start searching for a very tall building so you can hurl yourself off it to stop the pain.

    Yay!!! Done it. I kept having problem with flexing where I didn't want it...didnt think about the fact that you need some bone strength to stop flexing. I think I watched another tutorial where the bone strength was super weak and I was following that but actually they must be using a different setup. Once I brought the strength back up on body and head and a bit more on amrs and legs..this thing is finally looking a bit more credible. Play time now..

    • @SquareBearStudio
      @SquareBearStudio  Před 7 lety +1

      I hope you can share what you create. Glad I could help. Bone strength really does need to be played with every single time. I find it is a little different for every rig I build.

I'd rather you name names, so I can avoid those channels. The icing on the cake would be flame wars. I'm not trying to instigate. Not. Once again thank you for taking the time to do this! this is the most helpful rigging tutorial i have seen yet...but how do i get bones to stop warping body parts when i move them?

    • @SquareBearStudio
      @SquareBearStudio  Před 7 lety

      Point binding is the best way to totally control warping, you can turn off bone strength entirely and bind the bone you want controlling them to them. It takes a little practice to work out exactly which points. You can mix and match binding methods, so you could bind the head layer to the head bone, that will keep other bones from touching it. But first, just check your bone strength and see if it is too much. And it is easier to rig a character who is standing straight, legs apart, and arms pointed out from the body, its called a T-pose. The problem there is the legs are hard to keep from pulling on one another. Until the newest version, I've mostly used point binding. I'm playing with flexi-binding, which is mostly good but a little difficult to get used to.

    • @SquareBearStudio

      I plan on some more advanced rigging tutorials, I need to find the time. My next is about mouths.

    • @merlinart9657
      @merlinart9657 Před 7 lety

      Mess around and explore with various bone strengths on all limbs. You need some strength in head and body to stop it warping. Too little is no good nor is too much. Just got mine just right after realising I had way too low on all of it.

    i cant see the bone drawing when i click and drag

    • @SquareBearStudio
      @SquareBearStudio  Před 7 lety

      It sounds like a video card issue. Do you mean your bones temporarily vanish when you drag them? Or the picture? There is a Display Quality drop-down at the top right of the timeline. See if changing those settings helps, I know that turning GPU acceleration on or off (usually I hear to turn it off) solves a lot of problems and that is an option. You can also click a button to try Medium or High and see if that fixes the problem.

I've created the bones for the rig but when i click the manipulate bones icon it just moves the bones the stickman doesnt move. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great thanks.

    Can we do the same with imported SVG, EPS or AI file, correct? We don't necessarily have to draw in Anime Studio?

    • @SquareBearStudio
      @SquareBearStudio  Před 7 lety

      J H absolutely. If it is Illustrator, save as a n SVG using standard settings. It will give you much better results, particularly if you have Moho 12. No color shifting, which saving as AI does.

    • @SquareBearStudio
      @SquareBearStudio  Před 3 lety

      I’m going to have to guess you missed something. If you did it correctly, it would move. Two possibilities I can think of, one more likely. I’ve taught this so many times, and some miss that they have to have the vector layers inside the bone layer. Show and hide your bone layer, if your figure doesn’t vanish, then they aren’t in the bone layer and won’t work. Or you’ve set the bone strength to zero on all your bones. If all else fails, start again, it really only takes couple of minutes to set this up so start again with a brand new file and see what happens.
