I won't say all the time, but alot of times the GOOD wax cylinders come up moldy or just plain noisy in spots, whereas the mediocre ones always seem to be found in like new condition. Glad this one was clean and very listenable.
clydesight thanks Tim. The red labeled cylinder boxes and the higher catalog numbered ones are the British releases as was mentioned in the comment below. It was just a quick video to post here, but the actual reason why I posted it here was because I tried to upload it twice to Facebook directly, but it kept on rejecting my video so I thought I'd trick Facebook, and just upload it and post it here and then transfer it to Facebook from here in hopes that it would accept it, and it did. I haven't had much time to play around with my machines for a long time, but I've been trying to get back into it and wind them up and do a few videos here and there. Been dealing with a case of shingles so that's been another thing to aggravate my life besides arthritis. I hate growing old, but i shouldn't bitch, i know you've been going thru stuff too. We've just gotta keep slogging thru our days, because I'm afraid if we stop making CZcams videos we'll think something has happened to one another. Like Buzz. He's been on an extended leave of absence, just don't know when he'll be coming back, and i hope he's ok. Oh BROTHER! Stay well Tim.
I have this same song also sung by Harry Lauder on an early single sided British 78. Very similar apart from the talking part where he tells a different story about the wedding and goes on for much longer. A British cylinder. They always seem to be recorded louder than some of the US cylinders. Very nice!!!!!
