I had to replace the failed starter on my Nissan 200SX SeR with the 2.0L SR20D engine which is a nearly identical model platform to the Infinity G20. It was the most difficult starter i have ever replaced and i have been an amateur mechanic for 45 years. Its an all day job with the right tools. The car must be elevated securely and as high as possible. I recommend the highest quality starter you can afford. They are all rebuilt, no new starters are available at least for the Nissan. Compare the starter bendix gear and make sure your new starter has beveled gear teeth. Worn out and cheap replacement starters sometimes have flat faced gear teeth.

I use them in all of my Mercedes customer's vehicles and never had one fail even after 7 years in some cases. I see you put in a brand new starter. Smart move. That is all I use these days because of reman starters failure rates unless it is Denso or Bosch.

@@ERICSDIYGARAGE a friend of one of my work customer worked on my car and i have no idea if he did. I knew the wiper and cig lighter works before the starter been replaced.
@@lilron602 sounds like the key tumbler is the issue which is very common. Bet the radio doesn’t work when the wipers don’t. Just turn the key back a bit.

@@ERICSDIYGARAGE oh so did you replace the relay as well I have a new alternator and battery and one day it didn't want to crank but after the third or fourth try it crunk and now it doesn't want to turn over have lights and power just a single click when I try to start is that the starter ?
also check if your headlights look dim and try to listen for any fast clicking this code be signs of a bad battery if you dont hear anything and your battery voltage is good your starter might be bad if so you can confirm but hitting it with a metal pipe and if it does turn on after that than you will know its bad

Eric, when you disconnect with the starter, did you push on the green part or the black part of the connection to get it off the bracket

I just did this and it was such a pain to do. A lift would have definitely helped.
How did you disconnect the terminal with that boot in the way im still trying to get it unbolted
i was able to move it with my ratchet and at the same time i found the nut.

So like when you turned the key was it a single click and no crank
It was cranking randomly.

My g20 2002 won't start no crank could it be a bad starter or something else please help?
start of by checking your battery voltage if it's good its possible your Starter is bad

This is pretty much the same procedure, for about a third of all front wheel drive.
you didnt show you removing the two power bolts before you unbolted the starter motor :( and also the started came out pretty easy from the bottom :)

its a very tight area to film, I did however show how to remove the starter the installation would be in reverse order of removing the starter.
