Thanks for the information Nick! Kroger to me gets more challenging to deal with … but it’s the best store I have to shop for most of my groceries
In the same ⛵️
We have this in my kroger... i feel bad for the kroger employee ,1 employee 8 self check out. Most of the time the self check needs the cashier to confirm. So its a hassle to customers too
Hi Nick, The first time notice this at Kroger was when I was visiting my daughter and I was doing two separate transactions. I just told the cashier I was doing another transaction and he said ok. This happened to me at Meijer. Maybe other stores need to do this instead of getting rid of self check out. Thank you so much and have a blessed day!
We've had these in Illinois for a while. They will even show you scan items and show if they think you missed something.
We have this at my store now too. I had a free sample of the Evo Tide they were handing out and it called the attendant over.
Thanks, Nick! I have had this happen to me at Meijer months ago. I learned to keep things simple and to keep attention off me, I limit myself to two transactions. I take all of the smaller transactions materials and put them on the shelf to the right of the scanner. That way, the only things in my cart are the things I plan to do in the one transaction. Make it clear if cashier comes around that I am doing two transactions and keep them very separate. That seems to work well.
It’s the “show your receipt on your way out” that gets me. They even have to mark it with a pen
Yes those cameras, they suck, they are not better and they are by no means smarter. It thinks everything is something you didnt scan. If your purse, shopping bags, phone all trigger it.
This personally happened to me just after Memorial Day. I’m in Northern Kentucky and I was mortified because I was doing two separate orders as I was picking up items for my daughter. The employee came to help me and was stumped initially and then a video came up showing items still in my cart. She’s been there many years and said she was off over the weekend and this was probably a system update. I’d prefer to go through the checkout but often times there is only one checkout lane open and backed up with people with large volume of items in their cart. My store is in Hebron, KY and I know I’ve seen two different people detained for trying to shoplift carts full of items in the last 9 months.
I have these new cameras too. What else I noticed is that I will review my transaction and the terminal has a time limit, like a minute, and calls clerk for approval. Kroger trips are no longer a quick in and out. 😊
ugg here too. they brought this problem on themselves, just saying.
I've had this happen once so far and it wasn't even a day that I did multiple transactions. It flagged just because I still had some reusable bags and my purse in the cart. Had to wait for cashier to come mark it was my personal belongings, not unscanned product.
Thanks for the information. Your channel helps me save quite a bit of money on a tight budget. Keep up the great work.
Thanks nick. I can always depend on you to keep us updated
Thank you for your updates..
We got this about a month ago in TX gulf coast… it’s so annoying!
Oh thank you that’s just happened to me. I did 2 different transactions at self check out and the cashier was wondering why it called her over.
Its stuff like this that makes me think that them taking over Albertsons is not in the customer's best interest.
My Fred Meyer has carts that if you don't go thru the checkout line the wheels lock up at the door. So embarrassing when you have a list but nothing is in stock and you want to return the cart to the cart area and the carts wheels lock at the door.
Thank you for the Kroger check out video.
It does make it harder to coupon like you said I understand why
Thank you ❤🎉
Yep! I have the same thing. Thank Goodness my cashiers are awesome!
This happened to me yesterday~ I had no idea. I had three little transactions.
Every single time I leave my wallet in the cart at self checkout it freaks out and the sales associate has to come over so I can finish my transaction.
Agreed! I keep my purse in my cart. And every time the associate has to come over.
Self checkouts are being removed at select Pick N Save locations (my Kroger affiliate store) here in Wisconsin.
I'm trying to buy a week's worth of groceries including a bunch of frozen items. And the cameras keep flagging me if I stand too far to the left when I ring up items! Or if I set my coupons in the cart or my wallet or phone. Or if I have anything left in cart for second transaction. Or my coupon doesn't scan. Or I use more than some undefined number of coupons. Or I take too long before scanning the next item or reviewing to make sure my digital coupons and sales came off. Ringing up my own groceries is starting to feel like a job and given the number of times their system calls someone over to my station, apparently it's a job I'm not very good at. They probably shouldn't pay me to do this job. Oh wait, right, they don't!
My neighborhood wall mart have it. I didn’t know my husband give me his card to pay, he ask me to do more than one transaction, i told the cashier im doing more than one, the reason some people don’t scan all the items.
One time one of the self checkouts was malfunctioning and doing this video thing after each item scanned. Poor employees.
Yep Meijer does that and noticed Kroger recently too
Yes it has rolled out in Indiana also
Good info…TFS 😊
Thanks for the heads up. 😢
That's what that is ! Thank you. It's annoying
I placed my couponing notebook (very small) in one of my bags as I finished checking out so that I could free my hands up to remove the bags from the corral and it called the clerk over to watch the video of me placing it in the bag.
We’ve had that for as long as we’ve had self checkouts here, well over a year or two. I haven’t really had too much issue at all w/ it, except when it flags me for having not scanned all of my items erroneously.
I was not aware of this. I do not do separate transactions often but sometimes I am buying items for a group I am in or for a family member. Do not look forward to the hassle for myself and for the employees (who at my store are wonderful).
They started this early in June. Whenever I use the reusable bags and I set it where the bags are, it thinks I didn't scan something and they have to come and review the video and click its alright. I don't know if they've worked out the bugs or what but it hasn't happened the last couple of times I went.
This just happened to me on Friday, she marked multiple orders. Luckily I only had 2 small orders that day.
Your going to have to go out to car- put in trunk then go back in.
Thanks Nick, we have had this for about six months. Now we have a button that states “ multiple trans” . Once you hit that it doesn’t bother you.
Wow, I didn’t know that, I will look for that. I usually do several transactions.
We have them
The cameras are pitiful but our Kroger got new buggy’s and they are so much smaller 😭 I don’t know which is worse 😑
Mine has these too and they suck. I swear I had to call the self check out lady 6 times. Unfortunately, the good have to suffer with the bad. Last time I went to Kroger and didn't use self checkout but they got me by locking the cart at the exit and checking my receipt. I could not move the cart until the security guard released it with his clicker. Publix would never. I wish I had asked if it was random or if something in the cart that made them check. All that for about $50 worth of groceries after coupons.
We don’t even have a Kroger… but I’ll watch:)
My store implemented these cameras about a month ago, every time if you left something in the cart, the system would prompted alert to the store associate. At once I got two watermelon for 7/4 party and used the handheld scanner scanned those in the cart, I was ready to have the SA came over to approve the transaction, the system actually didn't and went straight to the payment page. Surprise surprise 😅!! I guess the camera system is smarter than I thought? As long as it detects scanning motion for the items in the cart it will deem that person's legitimacy?🤣
Hey Nick hope all is well with you coupner
I live here in Houston TX we just wet through hurricane Berly no couponing here today. Stay safe 😢
I notice something different, they have to come and approve or something
👍👍👍
Hasn’t happened here yet but that would be annoying 😢
Thanks for the updates . We are going through Hurricane Beryl today . Lots of rain and wind . Praying for everyone affected by Hurricane Beryl .
Prayers for you and those affected! 🙏🏻
Thank you I appreciate that. It was a really bad Hurricane .
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
This isn't anything new. Meijer and Walmart have had this for a long time.
It’s new for Kroger …
