To answer your question about her covers, it's a bit of a strange situation. Gigi & the band have been doing gigs in the provinces in the Philippines for several months now. That's how they earn money. Unfortunately they are not allowed to sing the bands original songs (they have an album with all originals) during these gigs bc from what I've read from people's comments, they are doing this independently, & not associated with the company that Gigi has a contract with, ABS-CBN/Star Music. The thing is, Gigi was signed but not the band. But Gigi wants to keep the band so they perform but the company had nothing to do with it. So I heard they are not allowed to sing their own original songs. I know it sounds messed up but copyright & royalties are done differently in PH I don't quite understand it but its different from here in the US where the composer of the song has the rights to the song. There was a tour that they did a year ago called Domination Tour which ABS-CBN was involved, & they sang all their original songs. The whole concert video only came out a couple of weeks ago. You should check it out, it's in the ABS-CBN channel. What I don't understand is why there is hardly any promotion of their album. Most of Gigi's fans don't even know they have an album. Maybe ABS-CBN decided not to spend money on promoting it, & just shelved it. Gigi hasn't even sung her originals on the Wish Bus, she has been singing covers only. ABS-CBN & GMA are the 2 big companies that control the entertainment industry in PH, & they choose who they want to promote. Unfortunately there are many underrated singers in PH who never get a chance Gigi & band has been singing for 10 yrs but Gigi was just signed about a year ago, after her CZcams channel blew up.
p.s. in her last local interview that i saw (-czcams.com/video/3gsV_58JMNo/video.html) . she talked about her recent accident , her vocal cords issue and mentioned that her mother is weak and might not really recover fully and she is doing all these local stints to help with her mom's medical needs and stuff.
