    Wow, I can say that this podcast definitely impressed me. I initially resorted to the admittedly baseless presupposition that your channels would have mediocre content with a financial incentive. This made me see you both more like humans and your unapologetic views expressed here that I can relate to reinforce this. My own English teacher (who happens to be an overtly socialist, vegan, Italian immigrant) constantly commits floccinaucinihilipilification in relation to you and your likes, which would have further impeded my objectivity. I would certainly watch more and different types of content from both of you.

      @mohammedaayanpathan Před měsícem

      @@MrSallesTeachesEnglish here's a pretty good paragraph my teacher formulated: In the beginning of the play, before we even meet the Inspector, Priestley establishes the importance of his character through the effective use of lighting and stage directions: “sharp ring of a door bell. Birling stops to listen”. This ironically cuts off Mr. Birling mid speech, foreshadowing later events in the play and singling him out to be the only character with the power to silence Mr. Birling, and by extension the middle and upper classes. Furthermore, when he first arrives at the Birling residence, the lighting becomes “brighter and harsher”. This sets the tone for his interactions with the other characters, positioning him as a figure of scrutiny and moral judgment, beginning to create the theme of responsibility. Alternatively, this could be interpreted as a desperate attempt by Priestley to subliminally assert authority of the lower class over the middle class as 1912 society had a very rigid class structure which meant the lower class had no real authority over their social superiors. This divide was still prominent to the 1945 contemporary audience, hence Priestley’s use of dramatic devices were necessary for the audience to take his message on social responsibility seriously. Some audience members may welcome the Inspectors arrival and the end of Mr. Birling’s self-serving monologue while others, the more capitalist minded among them, could be equally piqued by this intrusion.

      @MrSallesTeachesEnglish  Před měsícem

      @@mohammedaayanpathan Yes, it is great writing and analysis. However, it is the kind of teaching which I think is killing the subject and preventing students studying it at A level - you won't have much room left to write an essay having spent that long on one stage direction! If it works for you, incorporate it.

    • @mohammedaayanpathan
      @mohammedaayanpathan Před měsícem

      @@MrSallesTeachesEnglish thanks your response Mr Salles. Say, what do you think about OxfordAQA English Literature GCSE, a lot of international students do this specification, and we really need content on it, as texts like To Kill a Mockingbird are so rare these days to find solid content on CZcams. This text is common with Pearson International Edexcel’s course too, so I think you could really fill in the gaps in the market with this for the cohorts to come. Paper 1 for literature is tomorrow, wish me luck!

      Made a draft for an email
      A short email for your newsletter that will get people to watch your interview with Mr Everything English
      Single CTA (call to action) of building rapport to your audience and giving them free value which is your interview that they can play while studying
      %firstname% could be a function in your mailing list where you can directly say the subscriber’s first name if you have that saved so that you can directly address the reader, making it more personalised
      3 line paragraphing at most on the email itself to maximise readability
      A “belief shift” in the copy to convince someone to take the call to action by pointing out a roadblock (not doing a last minute recall) that might inhibit their wanted state (getting good grades)
      Here’s the start of the email:
      SL: This is the moment you’ve been waiting for %firstname%...
      Hello,
      The first English exam is going to start very, very soon.
      And, if you’re subscribed to my newsletter, you probably are that type of student who wants to easily get the top grades (7, 8 or a 9).
      But here’s the thing…
      Some level of last minute revision (well i’d guess, last few day revision) is going to provide you with a lot of help.
      If you don’t have that one final recall of information, you might have to spend loads of time in the exam itself trying to recall it, which will cost you a ton of marks and will most likely drop your grade.
      Especially, %firstname%,if you’re still struggling with trying to get the top grades in mocks.
      So, me and Mr. Everything English (you probably know him as well) are going to do an interview that’s going to cover a lot of burning questions that might be going in your mind such as:
      * How do you actually structure an essay fully?
      * What is the best number of quotes that I can get a good grade with while balancing my time?
      * What is the proper way to go through the language papers?
      Plus a lot of other bonuses that will boost that final push in your revision such as:
      *What do English teachers get wrong the most? (so that you know to cover them)
      *What is going on with plagiarism? (+ how to avoid it)
      *Cheeky prompt engineering with ChatGPT to help you in studying a text
      So, if you want to know all about the above plus extras,
      Be sure to click the link (here) to the full uncensored interview,
      and feel free to listen to this in the background while you’re studying.
      Best of luck to all of your english papers,
      Mr Salles.
