How to Make a Thread Chain Loop

  • Let me show you how to make a thread chain. A thread chain has a lot of uses. I'm showing you how it can be a delicate button loop and take the place of a metal loop in a hook-and-eye closure. It can be used as a French tack to attach a lining to a garment near the hem, and it can make a subtle belt loop on a dress. Thread loops are crocheted, but they can easily be made without a crochet hook by hand. I'll show you how!

    Thank you so much for this video!!! I couldn't remember how to do this because it has been so long since I have done a thread chain. Having the video is so helpful.

    So clear and to the point. I need to replace the button loop on my granddaughter's special dress. This was the first site that came up and for once I don't have to go looking at site after site to find one I can understand. Thank you.

    I remember watching in awe when I was a teenage employee at a garment manufacturer. The flashing hands of the shop floor supervisor bedazzled me as she expertly fashioned a loop for a heavy wool coat.
    Now you've just helped me save a pair of pants that came to me with the loops missing and de-mystified a trick I had always wanted to master - thank you :-)

    Hello, I'm a beginner. What kind of thread and needle should I use. Is that the common thread you use in a sewing machine or do i need a thicker one. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

    Hello! I purchased a blouse in which the elastic button loops are way too small, and extremely difficult to get around the small nub button. Are there any fairly easy tricks to remedy this situation? I'm not a sewer really. Thanks!

    • @EricaBunker
      @EricaBunker  Před 3 lety

      I don’t do alterations. I make clothes from beginning to end. Cut them off and remake them.
