It seems it's a relatively new track. It's clearly influenced by the late 80s/early 90s acid house and rave scenes but at the same time it's fresh. I'd call it "nu-rave" ;) In a similar vein synthwave/retrowave sounds a bit like 80s electro pop but is at the same time very modern and fresh.
It’s a protest against the 1994 criminal justice act which specifically targeted the rave scene to shut it down , gave police the power to shut down events that featured music “that was characterised by the emission of a succession of repetitive beats “ .. they went after the whole culture!
