@@kplinger YT deleted my other comment for some reason. I collect bells, I have a NEG, and have also seen dozens in the wild. They sound exactly the same as the sound comes off a microchip which unline WCH's dont have variations, theyre all the same. :)
How is that a big mistake? What's wrong with having "Railroad Crossing" on the crossbucks. "STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN" that's what additional panels are for. In Europe, crossbucks are usually red and white or red and amber with not text, and crossing usually have additional panels saying "beware of trains" or similar.
I just can't believe Australia freaking copied America's railroad crossing bells I mean Australia does not that bad it's literally next to America it's just they needed some bills or railroad crossing sounds for the railroad crossings I mean I'm just saying it's just weird that they caught people bells
The second on is probably the best sounding NEG e bell I’ve ever heard

My favourite is the National Electric Gate Electronic mostly because I grew up with those ones and they sound clean.
The WCH is what I always hear in Los Angeles, California. It is my favorite!

They didn't copy it
They use the same supplier Western Cullen Hayes
You also find in a lot of countries the safe Tran bell too
Fun fact : in the East Coast when the gates go down the bell stop meanwhile, in the West Coast the bells keep going when the gate is down

The second one looks like a CSX style crossing. Just mount the NEG E bell on the lights and it’ll be one.
