Not to be comfused with the 1973 Live at the Rainbow TV special and Live album, performance in May 4-5, 1973. Focus performed their second performance at the Rainbow in May 26-27, 1974.
«No Hang Ups» was performed live during the 1974 tour, before it was recorded and released in 1975.
Focus played only 3 songs on this 1974 performance. More songs was probably performed, but only 3 of them was featured on the TV special from 1974.

Great to see and hear this for the first time!!
I don’t think it’s in the same league as the previous year’s Rainbow gig though. Jan’s tone is good, but not as pure or clear etc. Mind you, I thought his work on that live album was his greatest ever and possibly the best tone and playing of an electric guitar (by anyone) I’ve yet come across.
    Brilliant era and great memories.

I enjoyed Colin Allen's drumming on "No Hang Ups" and "Improvisation in D," but felt he really missed the mark on "Hocus Pocus." Pierre van der Linden's jazzy breaks on that theme, but live and on album, really propelled it and added so much energy to the performance.
Thijs van Leer plays both organ and mellotron on "No Hang Ups," something I have never seen him do since. This theme was written by Paul Stoppelman, a friend of the band.

I was there and my ears are still ringing BUT the level of musicianship was a few levels above anything that was around at the time.
The lead Guitarist played a solo encore on Lute and brought the house down.

I was there. All I remember was Jan’s towering Leslie cabinets and it being Uber loud! Good though.

I've been searching for this performance of No Hang Ups for quite awhile. Thanx for uploading this great little collection of songs, that I still very clearly remember watching on TV back in the day.

The MC looks like the British DJ Tommy Vance (1940-2005). His work in the US left him with an American twang.

Not sure if this is diminished by the lack of Pierre van der Linden. There is something about his drumming that lends itself to the music.

I grew up listening to this lot . House of the King, Moving Waves, Sylvia, todays music feels anaemic by comparison.
