A small, easy to make improvement. Calculate the area of the opening made by the exhaust valve. Make a plate with an opening 30% smaller. Weld it onto the existing tail pipe. Betcha less noise.

if you roll a tank over the lawnmower, the muffler will survive
so f***ing heavy build, vibration can damage the aluminium cylinder head
if it should be louder don´t use a muffler,
if it should be quiet use a battery powered mower
if you want to poisen yourself use a hose and put it on the exhaust and you mouth
if you want to learn how to weld, ask some experts for help or make an education
if there are any other reasons to build this "thing", I don't get it

That's not how a muffler work man, you should've used two pipes. One coming in one side and the other opposite, stop them about an inch from the end of the can, where the pipe would almost be side by side inside. That would help cancel sound. All you did was make a gun silencer for your mower exhaust.

    • @Gcrilla

Most were just oversized fillers to take up space so that the correct sized ones didn't have to be threaded all the way down. They were basically acting as thick washers. Guess he didn't want to cut the bolts in case he wanted to return it to stock exhaust.
