The speech that Carter gave not only defended MLK, but also reached a much deeper level of thought among the attendees, including Thompson.

Enjoying reading Jimmy Carters latest book, A Full Life, he referenced both this speech, and Hunter S. One of the greatest political writers of all time. Thought would share it. As far as we have come, there is far to go still, and that is amazing to me.
This film "GONZO" WAS GREAT I SAW IT IN AN ATLANTA INDIE THEATER!!
My first Presidential election, I voted for Carter. Wish I could've voted for Hunter one day! Miss you HST.
Jimmy was too good for us.
Carter is a very important character in the history of the relationship between Panama and USA..., I am panamanian
I'm glad the canal was handed over to Panama. It should have been y'alls from the beginning.
Great clip from the movie Gonzo...just please lose the hyper dramatic intro and outro...it detracts.
I always liked Carter.
Hunter Thompson was never "the most popular writer" in the United States he wrote Outlaw or aka Real REALIST GONZO journalism...The carter center in ATL is an inspiring place though & I am a fan of HST's writing it curved my life to more authentic & intellectual readings/endeavors. My father a Georgian Republican said he hated Carter's "shit eating grin" however he also voted for George Bush Jr. so well I feel that was "self-projection"
Is that Johnny Depp doing Thompson’s narration?
