i am the biggest dragon ball z fan I know. I have dragonball tattoos, posters all over my walls, and my room is full of collectibles. But even I know that Superman cant be destroyed, only weakened, whereas goku is mortal and wouldnt be able to put superman away.
Why can't all DBZ fans be like you?
DB is a great franchise and Goku is truly a powerful and beloved hero, but Superman is basically the godfather of superheroes who brought the genre to new heights.

Superman does have limits early on, but his limits were self imposed. When he finally truly accepted his heritage, which took a long time, he became a god basically.
It really doesn’t matter. Goku doesn’t have any feats that say he can match Clark. Even if you want to call him a “god” it doesn’t matter, because even the “gods” of Dragon Ball like Zeno can’t match Superman.

Punching through it would require an energy equal to 1 million supernovas. Goku has that in just a punch. Superman barely survived a blast of puny 50 supernovas. And goku has instant transmission which has no speed, it's just instant. Supes cant beat that. And again, beerus scales 14 billion light years in 26 minutes. at 70% of that, it means goku should be able to cover a little less than 10 billion light years in 26 minutes. Supes in his greatest feat could only travel 150 light years in that timespan...
I honestly dont see how superman can win. He had major feats but they forgot to mention that the most OP superman spent 15000 years inside the sun to get that strong. He cant get to that level over a battle, not to mention his solar powers would severely deplete while fighting on that level and goku could just beat him in endurance. I want superman to win, I tried, I looked into it but I see at least 8 possibilities how goku can win and a 1 very very faint possibility superman could (if goku fights him after he spent 15000 in the sun, which is highly unlikely to happen, but even then it would be a very equal fight that could go either way). Superman has a limit to his power, he has limitless POTENTIAL. If the muscles in the human body could make all its muscles lift upwards, the human body has the potential to lift nearly 2 tons....you dont see me bench-pressing cars, do you? Supes has limitless potential but the height of his strength still heavily depends on sunlight. he has limited reserves. that's why he loses from time to time

It is never stated he could obliterate a universe in one shot, they said that about Kid Buu, yet he was only shown being able to systematically destroy the universe over time going planet to planet. King Kai's planet is also magically enhanced, so use of physics is moot. Instant Transmission being instant isn't that big of a deal. He has to focus on a certain area to perform it and lacks fighting capabilities while in instant transmission. Also you contradicted yourself by saying "It is instant" then saying being able to traverse 10 billion light years in 26 minutes. Instant.... is instant.
blazejecar Superman's endurance is crazy above Goku's, and so is strength and travel speed. Goku's energy projection is simply not the equivalence of multiple supernovae (read above statement). Superman Prime One million should not be used because he can basically erase Goku from his universe.... so don't even bring that in, it's a completely different form. Superman's supply of sun radiation has never shown to run out over time. He can fight for hours in the vacuum of space. Such as him taking on Sodam Yat (Ion).
Greer Jones dragonball super, episode 3. Elder kai specifically states beerus can destroy the universe...as for the planet thing, freeza with 3/4 of his body missing and power completely down survived namek exploding. infant broly survived planet vegeta blowing up...and other occasions show that this king kai planet thing is not too farfetched. as for speed, one is instant transmission which has been used in fighting before. if we stay at beerus, he even uses it against him at a part of the fight. The example with the universe travel is an example of speed WITHOUT instant transmission, not with it. Beerus and whis travel from their world to king kai's planet as fast as they can. By toriyama's sketches of the universes, there's around 1 universe worth of distance, so around 14 billion light years. if you want another example, in the daizhenshuu they calculated his speed from namek. There he scales half the planet in a tiny fraction of a second to fight frieza. It was calculated his speed was around 2 million miles/second! Given power growth from then to FnF, + ssj multipliers and you get at least a few hundred quadrillion miles per hour, which is a few thousand times faster than the fastest superman. And you can find this all on the daizenshuu, the official dragonball source

I have to say my favorite thing in this whole 'debate' is when DBZ fans try to low-ball Superman...even thought that's NOT what Goku would want in a fight. A guy that has let planet-destroyers fully power up for a good fight, and destroyed a piece of Kryptonite in the first fight as well as offer Clark a Senzù Bean afterwards, and his fans want to WEAKEN his opponent in order to claim a victory...
just think of goku losing this way I don't think goku would want to fight super man any ways they both are the protectors of earth and both can do a lot of the same things

However, I would certainly like to see a more balanced fight, like Goku Vs. The Hulk (or an out-of-this-world fight, like Unicron Vs. Galactus).

Superman was able to walk through Goku's Kamehameha because he could have been vibrating his molecules, like the Flash does. This allows him to phase through attacks and solid objects, many people forget about this ability for some reason. Look up "Molecular Oscillation" for more information on this ability.
Also, people are misunderstanding what ScrewAttack was, saying, when they said: "limitless potential", I think that they were referring to the fact that Superman can just keep absorbing yellow solar radiation thus, unlimited in the sense of increasing his power.

Superman cannot beat Whis whom is constantly shown using magic. Akira Toriyama should just end this shit and come out and say God Ki is magic based. Magic can't be sensed just like how Majin Buu couldn't be sensed right after being released from the cocoon.

On the speed part.. dupes is a snail compared to goku.. goku actually fights at light speed. Supes flies really fast to a destination. Instant transmission is just goku thinking of a place he wants to be. Why would u think it would be impossible for goku to think himself into different places during a battle? Dupes is no match at all when it comes to speed. Goku has extended thoughts while surpassing light speed in battles. Can supes think that fast? I think not.. very biased outcome in this battle

I posted this the moment screwattack showed a preview to the fight: "There is no way they will ever let Goku win this battle. In the preview, it shows Ben standing there with this super annoyed look on his face and he says 'it'll finally be over for good after this one'. Chad says something like 'will it, though?' and Ben (annoyed) says 'YES.' and walks away like he's too good for this shit."
In Ben's mind, because of what research he's done, there is no other POSSIBLE outcome to this fight. He believes Superman has absolutely no limit (when he very clearly does, and even in the New 52 comics he has shown his very clear limitations when fighting) and can never lose.
Superman has simply been around for too long. In his 50+ years of comics, we have been shown very specific feats of power from him. He held up the Earth for three days straight with no access to sunlight, he took a blast that was X amount of supernovas in force, etc.
Goku does not have these same specific feats. We have to figure out his power through power scaling, by comparing Goku to the people we know he's stronger than or equal to. Example: how long it took Superman to destroy an Earth-sized planet, compared to how fast we've seen Golden Frieza do it, or Beerus do it. Beerus simply tapped his fingernail against a table and destroyed a planet. He was also so fast, he outran the explosion and subsequent destruction of the planet, appearing far away in the solar system almost instantly.
Until Akira Toriyama starts giving us exact numbers for how strong Goku is, how durable, how fast, etc. Screwattack will NEVER let Goku defeat Superman.
This is why we need more than one GOOD company that does battles like this. We need a second opinion. We need someone who isn't so stubborn. I knew from the moment I saw how Ben was acting in the preview that Superman would win.

Calculating SSJGSSJ Goku's power level won't make him more or less strong. He will be as strong as he is even without any power level measuring. It's just that it was being a pain in the ass for Toriyama to keep a track for everyone in the series after Freeza saga. Cell and Buu would have been just as strong as they were meant to be even if you had their power levels measured up. Nothing more. Nothing less.

But Superman is constantly gaining strength no matter what because as you know he is constantly gaining power from the suns heat rays. In conclusion superman constantly has that strength where the hulk only has it for momentary time frames.
My problem here is that Flying a million times the speed of light and fighting at the speed of light are different. Goku has been fighting at speeds higher than Mach 1 speeds since Dragon Ball when he was just a boy and going by estimates can fight at thousands of times the speed of light. Now Superman may be able to fly faster but there can be no question that Goku can fight faster. And I am not just pulling this out of nowhere, I do remember reading somewhere that even Wonder Woman fought Superman he asked how she done something so quickly in a fight.

***** The issue is that with as fast as he flies he has to be able to physical move his body as quick. If not he'd just hit everything in his path but he never does. So in order to fly that fast he must be able to react and dodge just as fast. Speed isn't the issue here though its endurance, Superman, in New 52, was bench pressing the earth 5 days straight and wasn't even tired. This means out of the sun Supes lasted five days with a planet on his back, nothing Goku has done matches this in fact he wears himself out many times

The same could be said of being able to run as fast as a Bugatti Veyron, just being able to run at those speeds doesn't mean all of your other techniques would be able to be used at that same speed. Seth Lunsford the actual death battles aren't meant to provide any information or vantage point over who would win. they are 100% for entertainment. but also, superman holds back in every fight. he doesn't go around 1 hitting everything, that is justice lord superman's demeanor. superman doesn't like killing, and he will do everything in his power to try to debilitate an opponent before he resorts to killing them. he tests his opponent's limits to see what they can handle first because he knows he could snap something's spine if he isn't careful enough. if superman and goku fought, superman would eventually understand goku's power. he would destroy the planet if he kept fighting. goku wasn't lying when he said he'd never stop. it was only then that superman would have understood that goku needed to be put down.

Deathbattle...they used the same Equations they made up from the first Goku vs. Superman. Their solutions were wrong, Goku is way faster and stronger than they say he is. As well, Superman...they messed up a bit on him as well. Deathbattle should've waited a while so we know how strong SSG and SSGSS is, we don't have a exact multiplier or estimate for the two transformations. They just pulled SSG and SSGSS strength out of their ass, wait until Dragon Ball Super shows the true strength of the transformations. Not being butthurt, just saying they messed up on the deathbattle...again. Though, we all knew Superman was going to win anyways since he's a Mary-Sue.

It's pretty damn logical with Superman being able to walk through Goku's Kamehameha wave.
The Kamehameha wave is made of electricity, which in other words is plasma. The sun is made mostly of plasma.

Superman lives from the energy of the sun. Being attacked by a wave from the sun is literally nothing to him, it only would make him stronger if anything. Goku did not know this and as such, it ended up as his downfall in the end.
Although then again, there was no real chances for him to beat Superman. Goku can't read Superman's mind due to his Torquasm-Vo skills, to fight against people trying to control or READ his mind. He could not instant transmission him anywhere in this state. Especially not a red sun, since it would be his weakness.
And in the end, Goku always preferred a fair fight. He never wants help from others to beat up tough opponents. It just would not be like him to instant transmission Superman near a red sun or to a piece of Kryptonite.

1. THE FIGHTS ARE FOR ENTERTAINMENT. The way they are choreographed, what happens during them, everything about it is for entertainment. That's why Goku used every skill he had developed during the first battle, even the power pole that people so adamantly questioned. Fact of the matter is,
The Dragon throw, Dragon fist, power pole are useless in the fight, they are all too weak to do anything. They were added for completeness of portrayal purposes too.
Same reason with Superman's Freeze breath, which is a technique too weak to bother Goku anyways.
2. SINCE THE FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHY IS IRRELEVANT, your statement loses all credibility. How Superman was CHOREOGRAPHED to appear in the last battle is less relevant to the outcome than how much butter these character like on their toast. A straight up comparison of feats shows that Superman has survived power beyond anything Goku has ever done, taking hits that Goku has never taken, dished out hits and feats of strength and speed that make Dragonball look like a group of Miss Daisys. Seriously, what is so hard to grasp that Goku cannot do a quarter of the things Superman has done. Like I just don't get it.
Why can't people be objective about shit? I love anime and manga more than comics by a mile. Comics are just too inaccessible to me. But I don't let my love of anything influence objective discussions. Goku loses to Supes. 9/10. The only time Goku wins is against the very weakest of the weakest versions of Supes, such as in his first run when his feats were lifting cars, and moving faster than bullets, and maybe even the DCAU version, even though that version i have heard has a light speed feat so who knows.

Tyrone actually touched on a very good point that I always bring up: Goku is a martial arts MASTER. He is a VASTLY superior technical fighter to Superman. Superman is very much more about brute power.
I also don't believe Superman could simply walk through Goku's kamehameha like that; it was a powerful image and statement of Superman's power, but that single kamehameha wave could destroy entire planets. It would at least scuff Superman's pants, like come on.

If the "good"characters of today had came out during that time in comic books, they likely wouldn't have done as well. Today's writers just keep the core of Superman's character with modern day plot elements. He is the most known comic book character in history. Comic books exist in popularity because of him.
Shady Doorags No Superman during his early years (First comics), he was better written, he wasn't so Op and there was better story development. Over the years a bunch of different writers made Superman so powerful it was ridiculous.
TurtleOver Lord Superman was always written to be more powerful than everyone else and an upstanding guy. Back then, it was just being super strong. Today, because of how DC works, its having ALL the powers.

It is obvious that screw attacks are big fans of Superman. Common sense would tell anyone with Goku's abilities, he could easily kill Superman. First all, Goku doesn't have weakness like Superman. His power is unlimited in his god form. Don't get me wrong, Superman is great character and one of my favorites superheroes. But, I don't think he could beat Goku. Therefore, screw attack results are fixed. Besides, I believe if Goku and Superman should ever meet, they would work together to defend the planet earth from evil forces because they both wants what is best for Earth. Therefore, they probably become good friends rather enemies.
