When exactly does that take place in the real world? Where people attack you instead of non moving paper targets? You know real attackers punch kick grab try to prevent you from doing this.... Try it against a real resisting person and see how this doesn't work.
Have you been through ECQC? Have you been though a tac response class? Have you been through any class? This technique has been pressure tested in the real world as you speak of, in force on force, and the flat range. The hardest part is accessing that tool.
I was gonna say that. Look up some Shiv Works ECQC videos. They do plenty of force on force using this.
This is not a prescription for employment of this technique. This is simply learning the mechanics of retention shooting. Limb control is a prerequisite to actually employing this. Look up Craig Douglas for better context
I came here for this comment. I'll echo what others have said... what training do you have that makes you say these things? You know what I learned from this drill? Don't have a comp on your carry gun. If you fire a pistol close to your body the concussion is much greater than you would expect. Shooting while backing up. It's a good drill.
