I think a lot of moms feel like this. My last birthday my partner slept until he had to leave for work and didn't come home until around midnight. I was home alone with a teething baby. I love my son more than anything I just wanted a break... Its been 18 months and ive had a total of about 10 hours to myself

@@themarsman5155 I have been setting the groundwork to try to leave. It's just a lot to deal with right now because I do absolutely love his family and they're pretty much my only support because my own parents think that I'm a drug addict which I am definitely not and so they won't interact with me. They got their information from someone who barely even knows me. So I love his family and I am giving him the chance to get into counseling to deal with his issues and if that doesn't end up happening within this month then he's going to have to leave because I'm not doing this anymore

I relate to Marge too much. My bf doesn’t do anything for my birthday not even flowers and we’ve been together for six years, I always get him at least one gift and make him a favorite sugar free dessert or cake and make sure he knows he’s loved. our kid is too young to remember my birthday and do anything for it (not her fault) and all my siblings forget. I’ve spent every birthday since I was born alone :/

That's a reality a lot of mothers face, they feel used, like a maid whose only purpose is to serve her family out of the love of her heart, and doesn't even get a thanks for it. I always try to make it special for my mom on her special day, and let her now what an incredible help she does everyday of the year.

I will get my mom super extragent gifts. Fancy handbags, jewelry, literal massive jewels shipped from other countries, shoes, everything she could want. All I get from her is an empty photo album that she kept and never filled up. Embarrassing. They have a ton of money too! She even got mad that I didn't get her a card for mother's day. It was in the box with a $300 handbag from Michael Kors! She threw it away and didn't believe me. I've spent thousands on her. If I buy my dad more stuff than her for Christmas she gets mad. I got him a bunch of cheap dad gifts like nuts, socks, shirts, sweaters, ect. Just random dad stuff plus some candy lol I will get her one expensive gift that cost 5 times what I got him and it's always an issue! Like I'm soo over this!

Sometimes parents bring this treatment to themselves, I always give my mom vacations for Christmas, I pay a nice hotel at the beach or trips to wherever she likes, expensive designer bags for her birthday and genuine jewelry for mother's day, however, she always rejects my presents, , gets upset and calls me d*mb, she says she feels offended because I "waste" money and it hurts my feelings, I worked really hard to have the salary I have now, I only want to give her all the nice things I couldn't when I didn't have an income, she comes from a very poor family and had to raise me and my sister alone, I honestly feel she deserves the best of the best but she's very ungrateful declining my gifts.
