- Day 13: Lila is not in a good mood. She is still trying to get used to her new home and new mom. Her fears and anxiety are showing as she cries and hisses as I walk by her. Time. Only time.

Lila is SO lucky that you adopted her!! I am sure she appreciates you for taking her into your home, safe and warm from the cold, dark streets. She'll be very happy with you!! 💖
If Lila isn’t usually like this or has only just moved to live with you, I would suggest you take her to the vet ASAP. Sudden aggression can be signs of many things, one of which being pregnant but it is unlikely your cat is not spayed or neutered. Either way, you should see some kind of professional on the matter.

i dont know what household she came from before you adopted her, but since its only been like 2 weeks (if i understand correctly) then she probably is still adjusting! some cats can be skittish when you walk too close to them and feel threatened, because you are a tall human and they are but a little cat, so they get defensive. and since she might not know you that well yet it could be that she is unsure of if you will just move past, so she is being defensive to show you that despite your size she would defend herself if you try something funny.
give her time to warm up to you! i'm sure she'll be a little snuggle bug eventually and she'll follow you everywhere

You are right. All the cats I've ever had were kittens. This is my first rescue and she's older too. She was seized by authorities from a hoarding situation.
