Great kit! Saving your video as reference for creating my own! Just one thing I thought you should know, the spindowns from magic are frequently imbalanced. Since they're designed to keep track of numbers rather than generate them randomly, and the placement of the numbers means more material on the side with the small numbers, you'll roll high more often then not.
Index cards with general reminders to give inspiration and stuff, a big bag of dice, fantasy name generator pulled up on my laptop is my go to game gear
Yeah it's a fun one and something you can implement in every campaign. Maybe a druid will tell you the ways but only in exchange for ... Or the old hag makes you a potion for it Or the little kid tells you where they spotted a monster Let me know how you use it Kylie
Instead of Condition cards & a Cheat sheet, Make ONE, one side with all the Conditions they can get, and on the Other side, list all their Turn Options as well as Combat. (Laminate mine), it also has a Blank line down the side to keep track HPs with a Dry erase marker, as well it can be used as a coaster.
I recently encountered a video ( L11iOnBGnf8 -I'd give you a link but links mark you as a spammer) where the person who made it converted 5E into a roll-under system where 1 is a critical success … it's worth looking at his system though because his rules are ONE SHEET! Add a list of names for NPCs, some character sheets, specifics for different classes, spells, and a deck of monster cards. What do you need then? Some adventures?
Just watched the full video and the roll under variation is definitely worth a look but what really caught my eye was the incredibly simple city map. That's exactly what I need for a game I just started.
I use dot grid index cards from baronfig and scanned them to have a template in Photoshop where I write in all the sats. Once I'm done I just put them in the rear tray of a printer and print.
Usagi is probably sailor moon? that's her name right, also I think its just japanese for 'rabbit', so playing a rabbit person called 'rabbit' is a bit on the nose. so kind of like legolas greenleaf's name translated being 'greenleaf geenleaf' lol.
What's in your DM Kit?
Nice kit! Very similar to mine.
Ref normal D20s:
Opposite Numbers add up to 21.
20 is opposite 1
19 is opposite 2 etc. 🤓
Yeah that's how I noticed that those are different
The other are called spin down dice to track your life points in MTG
@@thefatecontrol yes! Found this out *really* recently… Cool idea.
Great video and cool ideas! Just discovered your channel and 28 days of D&D playlist. Looking forward to digging into it!

Yeah I know they are not really meant for rolling. They only come out sometimes now 😅

Index cards are really an essential to me.
Daaamm, I absolutely need the quick dm reference booklet! Notify me if you ever make it downloadable

I love the secrets as currency idea! So cool!

That's actually a brilliant idea. I might just have to make that now. 👍
Cool kit
5:21 that's Grisban the Thirsty from Descent 2e Boardgame. a great hero! :D
Nice catch - you rolled well on your history check
@@CardboardCleric I'm proficient in trivial lore. It's very impressive but not really lol
Great Job on video. Enjoyed seeing your set up.
Thank you - Your support means a lot

Oooo Thanks for the recommendation.
I found the video and it's definitely food for thought

Usagi = Yojimbo
Yeah... Usagi Yojimbo was a nice reference. ;-) I knew someone in the comments would know it. heh
Most DM's I've played with ban spinner dice the Magic dice because of their design have a higher probability to roll high.
That's why I only roll them as a DM in dramatic situations.
I would like to get a doc versions of your info sheets, they look great! Is it possible?
It is definitely something I want to.
I just haven't yet because I need to understand the lagal framework of the ogl better.
@@CardboardCleric That would be super helpful!
Thanks for sharing your Dungeon Kit! Quick question, how did you do those monster/npc cards?
I use dot grid index cards from baronfig and scanned them to have a template in Photoshop where I write in all the sats.
Once I'm done I just put them in the rear tray of a printer and print.
Where can I find the action list made by your friend, i.e. the quick check? You mentioned it's downloadable, but from where?

Yojimbo!!!
Yes you got it! 🐰

I know a Guy called Guy 🤣 but if it's good enough for Stan Sakai it's good enough for me.
the random is not random... every opposite side added up is the same...
20+1=21
19+2=21
18+3=21
17+4=21
16+5=21
How did you make your DM screen journal great idea
It's definitely a project in the making. Thank you for the reminder Kevin
what do you use to make images for and print on notecards like that??
I do it all in Photoshop but of you're getting started off recommend affinity photo or Canva.
