🎄 A Very Bali Christmas - What We Did For The Holidays - World Schooling

- We were looking to decide where to stay in Bali with family during Christmas and there were a ton of options. We had a few things that we really wanted. First, we needed a place that had a kids club, although we had lots of opportunities for our kids to socialize, we were really looking forward to them(us) having time on their own. Second, we wanted a hotel or resort of some sort, Airbnb's had been great, but we were ready to have someone else take care of us a bit. Finally, we wanted a place that really had a big Christmas Feast for dinner and maybe a visit from one of Santa's helpers would be the icing on the cake.
The Padma in Legian seemed to check off all our wants and needs, and although it was a bit of a splurge for us, we figured that the lack of normal Christmas expenses, presents etc, would help offset the extra expenses.
The kids club was a home run, kids had a blast, parents had peace. 24 hours a day 7 days a week, it was a nice little hiatus from one another.
We also had our first trips up to Ubud, which is amazing, to the rice terraces and a few of the giant swings. Really beautiful, but I do feel there is a bit of price gouging on those swings going on. If it were anywhere else, I wouldn't say a thing, but the costs seem disproportionate compared to the rest of Bali.

This was our first Christmas away from home or family...have any of you guys been on the road for the holidays? Where were you and how did it go?
Love it. Last year we spent Christmas in Norway. It was amazing. Love seeing your adventures!
How was Norway during Christmas? I have to imagine it was pretty spectacular.
We've spent quite a few Christmas's on the road. Phuket, Bangkok, on a cruise in Halong Bay in Vietnam. It helped us keep Christmas pretty minimal with one gift and no excess to compare to.
Kensho Quest we found it to be really a big relief not having to deal with the typical chaos you have around the holidays. There were certainly aspects we missed from home, decorating the house(etc), but I think Lua and I are definitely thinking about doing it this way again.
@@raggedshoes2582 It was pretty incredible. We went on a Husky Sled Ride and saw the Northern Lights!
I'm so excited you guys are back to uploading videos! I love them!! We are hoping to head to Bali in March.

@@raggedshoes2582 Excited for what is to come! That would be great if you were able to get to the guide before we go. We will be doing some travel through Bali and SE Asia. It all seems so foreign and scary, but it will probably be one of those experiences where you just have to jump in, go with the flow and learn from your mistakes!
The chancla! 😂😂😂🤣👌🏽 How much were the swings? I had heard like 20 or 30 usd each and was like, nope. We got to Tagalalang and it was only like $6.5, I was shocked. Pleasantly. Tay went and we got some great photos. Another great vid and great choice on your Christmas spot. It seemed just perfect!
+The Wallace Reboot dang right lua was threatening then, those swings were crazy expensive...for Bali. Balis weird like that right? Either really affordable or overpriced. Christmas was definitely a splurge but cheaper than flying home and gifts!
@@raggedshoes2582 It looked perfect! Tropical Christmas was strange for us. We should have splurged for at least an overnight or two in retrospect. Next time!
+The Wallace Reboot that’s what it was for us. Buy 3 nights get one free. It’s still a tough pill to swallow when you know you can get a few weeks at an Airbnb for the same price. But no regrets.
