Here is a short documentary on the new Russian aircraft- The IL-96-400M
This aircraft comes with four engine configuration. The Ilyushin 96 has a very good reputation and only time will let us know if the IL-96-400M is even better.

UAC is start building twin engines version of IL 96, but it will ready because engine which will be use (PD-35) is still being designed

Same old PS-90 engines, same old Il-96 wing. What is the modernization?
And why does this "Russified" plane still have Airbus MCDU's in the cockpit?

LoL I love how it wants to compare the Il96 to the A350 but it only has 60% of the range and with four engines (instead of two) higher operating cost.
A 40+ year old design that has almost no improvements is not a "competitive" product and the only countries that might be buying this (other than Russia) are Cuba and North Korea (because they don't have any other choice).

Unfortunately no, it may only be able to serve as a replacement for western aircraft as nobody wants a quadjet these days

This 4 engine-plane is already out of the competition. The PS 91 engines are way too weak in thrust to comptete with GE, CFM and RR engines, both in terms of power and fuel efficiency...

@@gneuhausel And twin-engined aircraft are already safe and even surpass the size of the IL-96-400M. How would a quadjet whose design dates back to the late 80s and has sold poorly worldwide and even in its home country help passengers feel safer when long-range widebody twinjets are everywhere?

Dieses Flugzeug hat gegen eine A350 oder gegen eine B787 keine Chance. Es kommt ca. 30 bis 40 Jahre zu spät. Wer wird es kaufen? Nicht einmal Rotchina. Es wird intern eingesetzt werden, wenn überhaupt. Wenn Russland sich wieder in die Gruppe friedliebender Staaten eingliedert hat, dann wird auch Russland wieder Airbus und Boeing bevorzugen.

I like the RUSSIAN aviation industry very much. Both fighter planes and passenger planes are very successful and powerful. The rumor that these planes are faulty and unsafe is a fabrication of Westerners.
