Thank you!!! Could never Shazam it cause of the voices !
YOU ARE SO AWESOME!
Wish I could have seen that!!!
Thank you.
When I saw this movie in the theater and when Duncan walked in, the whole theater applauded
Magical!
Thank you for sharing 😊
Hell yeah the entire theater was like fuck yeah when I saw it, very pivotal part of the movie
@@kristoferbatdorf2873 He shouldn't have gone to that party
That’s awesome wish I was old enough to see it in theatres
Elias Koteas doesnt get enough credit. Hes had an incredibly long acting career and been in a ton of stuff.
Right he and Viggo Mortensen and yes Christopher Walken were majestic in the prophecy
Casey Jones is by far his signature role but he's good in everything.
@@daria169 One of my 10 top movies
Duncan was the shit. Everyone needs a friend like him.
I think he was good but overly utilized
thats Casey Jones TMNT lol
It's Malone from SVU Wow! He was a tough guy way back when too!
He's authentic. Those guys make the best friends.
He's the enemy you never want to have.
The moment that Duncan walks in the door.....that musical riff is perfect
Dang these movie's from the 80s where so awesome 😎 makes you feel like a teenager again!!!! Wished we could go back to them cooler times!
Beats So Lonely by Charlie Sexton. Amazing 80s video for that song to boot!
🙌
There will never be another John Hughes and everyone who went to high school in the 80's can consider themselves lucky for it.
John was one of us teenagers at heart. He touched our hearts with every movie
“Let’s just cut the bullshit, alright. I’m here to wipe the floor with your ass. You know it, everybody knows it and you deserve it. I think it’s safe to say that this party is about to become a historical fact.” - SAVAGE
Duncan is one of the best characters I've ever seen in a movie. He's just wonderful.
+Samuele Tozzi His facial expressions remind me of Robert DeNiro for some reason.
+Email Also, Elias Kosteas was the original murderer/victim in Fallen with Denzel Washington and John Goodman...(Time is on my side...Rolling Stones)
Yeah, when I was a Kid, I always went out of my way to be nice to a "Rocker" they were always so nice and cool and if I had an "Extra" Dollar I'd treat them to something because many of them came from Families that didn't have much money.
And some would say, he's some kind of wonderful.
True that!
One of the greatest scenes ever. Here's to John Hughes and a time when movies were more than sex and special effects- but rich, genuine, and with heart.
This reminds me of my school, cool kids thinking they are the shit! Knob heads lol
I always also liked that Amanda in this film was the rare example of a 'popular girl' stereotype that was fucking human and not just some shallow superficial girl. Sure, she's pretty and popular, but that doesn't define her character. She's warm, has a moral compass, she grows to stand up for herself, and at the end of the film, you never feel 'sorry' that she didn't end up getting the guy, because what she really needed was to stand on her own 'two feet' all along and follow what she knew was right. The fact that's also friends with Duncan and Watts by the end as well is beyond adorable. It just goes to show you that even with either Duncan and Amanda, there's no excuse for high school movies having shitty one-dimensional stereotypes of 'bad boys' or 'popular girls,' when there's so much more that you can flesh out. Bravo, John Hughes, Bravo.
Yeah he worked so hard to get Lea then says fuck it
@@paulmcgill2754 Lea did kind of used him and he equally used her to gain notoriety which they both admit in the end. I like to think though that Lea wound up with Duncan and Keith stays with Watts. =0)
I hope this created the foundation for a happy life for you. 😘
@@heyokawalker197 that’s what so great they have flaws and it works out somehow.
That's because she wasn't rich and spoiled. She lived in Keith's neighborhood. She became popular by being pretty
Good old Duncan, the consummate anti-hero. There's a great clip where he and Stolz's character are in detention and they bond. They're both sketching on paper. Duncan shows Stolz a portrait of what looks like a Joan Jett skeleton and says "this is what my girlfriend would like with no skin", haha. Classic.
I imagine Duncan becomes a street artist and follows Keith to Art school. Best buds!
I saw that scene, great call out!
LOL @1:18-1:21 when Duncan snuggles on Amanda's shoulder and she smiles.
That was totally improvised. Leah's reaction is genuine :)
me to but not Aids
Yeah it's so cute
No cell phones no social media drama , no internet the 80's I so miss them .
You are not the only one. If I could go back in time, you will find me looping from the 70's all the way thru the 80's
Amen!
+The6thRonin You and me both!
ironic that you're saying this from the internet while enjoying this clip, probably on your cell phone
Steve A no tweeting presidents ...
Elias Koteas (Duncan) is such an underrated character actor!
YES. Yes he is!
@@spookiemissmookie Ever since I saw him in the first TMNT movie from the 90's, I have been a fan of his.
@@pchan0368 same!
My favorite character in "the thin red line."
People forget he's the Fallen priest and cop in the prophecy starring opposite Christopher Walken
...three years later Duncan put on a hockey mask and became Casey Jones: badass vigilante.
Chris B did he really grow out his hair that long in only 3 years
It wasn’t like it was shoulder length it was in between shoulder & chin. Also some kind of wonderful was released in 1987 which means probably finished shooting in 1986. Plenty of time to grow.
Yes Captain obvious we know.
"OH NO, NOT THE LIME JUICE"
winston smith lime juice?? What are you referencing?
I love how they turned the persona of a skinhead on its head with his character, made him a warm hearted, likeable and funny character.
How can he be a skinhead if so much of his crew is black?
Hughes was just great at creating nuanced characters. Look at Bender in the breakfast club and many others
@@NAT-rd8fl Sure when they’re not being Skinheads, yea, I can see that in any human. Nobody’s violent 24/7. But still, that doesn’t mean the world should show them any sympathy, after all a skinhead is nothing but a white supremacist who thinks he’s above all other races. Nothing admirable about that. Unless you’re white, of course. But then again, who cares, right?
@@RichFromTheDuece You need to educate yourself on both the origins of the skinheads in the UK, and the later SHARP, Trad & Trojan skinheads.
I don't think he was a skinhead unless he was a S.H.A.R.P. bc he had black guys in his crew. I thought of Duncan as more of a punker rocker harley davison type
GOD I miss 80's movies...
When Duncan walks in to save the day, it's easily one of the greatest payoffs in cinema. A moment to cheer. Craig Sheffer as Hardy Jenns "with two N's!" deserves serious props too for crafting a proper w@nker bad guy...
It’s 10 times better knowing that he improvised the head on her shoulder and her reaction was genuine 😊❤️❤️
didn't know that.. One of my fave 80's teenage movies. Cool fact... I fell in love with Watts in this movie.. MSM's best role
@@samsmith4216 Also Marlon Brando improvised when he smacked Johnny Fontaine in The Godfather. That's why Robert Duvall was laughing so hard. He wasn't ready for it.
I love the little moment when he puts his head on Lea Thompson's shoulder. Was that improvised? It's really sweet and says a lot about his character.
Yes it was improvised, Lea Thompson's surprised laugh is real
Can watch the scene repeatedly, what a great character Duncan was, what he says to the teacher about the nudy cards being a gift from the teachers wife, legend
What those, those were a gift... From your wife.
This is by far one of my favorite movies of all time! Mary Stewart Masterson is awesome in it!
I always wanted to have a friend like Duncan. He was such a badass, I would've loved to hang out with him.
People like him often go to jail
@@paulmcgill2754 "often" doesn't necessarily mean "always".

John Bender wishes he was as cool as Duncan.

Exactly
Smoke up, Johnny
"I didn't know Jenns lived in a hen house. Did you know that?" That cracks me up every time I see this scene. 🤣
Must be a hen house cause all I smell is chicken shiittt😂🤣
THE 80´S ! No cellphones, no tik tok, no likes. JUST REAL PEOPLE AND MUSIC AND REAL FRIENDS AND FAMILY 24/7 !
Very tired take.
This scene, and the scene that follow is one of the best endings
yes.🙂🙂
The guy playing Duncan is Canadian and this movie made me fall in love with Mary Stewart Masterson!
The rolling drums from Charlie Sexton's "Beats so lonely" playing right as Lea Thompson applies those epic face slaps is so fcking brilliant...at 1:55
Pedro Martinez Jr. yeah what is that? Editing? Timing?
Plain Truth
duncan was so cool.
casey jones is cool
@@steevrawjers Don't forget Alvin Olinsky
@@dnasty312 oh cool i will check that out
this movie is basically perfect. Yeah it's a teenage romantic drama like so many in the 8'0s, but it's got real heart, memorable characters, and big payoff scenes like this.
I WOULD LOVE TO CRACK OPEN ANY DOOR AND SAY THAT LINE:
""I DONT SEE ANYTHING BUT CHICKEN SHIIIIIITTT"" LOL!!!!
hudsonvalleyguy1 😂😂😂😂
1:18 Elias Koteas actually improvised that gesture. LoL
I was actually wonder'r bout'that exact scene deal. Thanks Cuzz'n for that info.
I done bet that if actors & Actresses we're allowed to go on they own during certain scene spots, they'd be a whole lots more of natural, 'organic' , much more realism established during 'dull'd exchanges/interactions tween' players on they movie sets........
Jus'like my Nyyggah Koteas done did on that powerful climatic scene.
Y'alls done ever witness Koteas scenery chewing up and str8 vomit'n alls over and particularly intertwined in David Cronenberg's sado-sickness film vehicle (ain't not no puns introduced!), CRASH?!
Scumbagg'd cable and t.v. program'ahs ain't wanna give that extremely entertainment of a whole different level cinematic offering, absolutely no views to be had, regarding chances to experience that flick for the madly curious public at hand.
I ain't done don't wanna be forced to feature that Sandra Bullock, Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard movie spot, already more than this Nyyggah done did.
Ain't Television bout choos'n diverse scripts and storylines? I done thoughted it went along them instructions.

Dawn Welch ... You know Duncan is same guy on up coming movie Shooter Mark Wahlberg's movie
What about Long Duck Dong?
Dawn Welch I always had a thing for bad asses.. lol
Great movie !!! Man I miss the 80's so much.......
This movie is so awesome. Craig Sheffer is such an intense actor. Eric Stoltz is another fine actor and Elias Koteas is a bad ass. These are your stars, and to think, we still have John Ashton, Lea Thompson and Mary Stuart Masterson to flesh out the movie. John Hughes is a boss!
Sheffer is great in a little seen HBO movie "In Pursuit of Honor."
He will always be Big Sheff around these parts.
Am I the only one who gets goosebumps when she slaps him twice?? I've probably rewound that scene about a thousand times in my life. It's like, "Nah, one slap wasn't enough... here's another!"
ItsAMe Brinyoh I was hoping hed block her dang right hand but there's no way ugggh! she's got that flirty face so he's like O..o and cant move and flips out her right hand so fast its a blur. damnit!
ItsAMe Brinyoh
Yeah... I guess me too. :-)
I loved it when he barked I was like I hope she teaches him a lesson he won't forget slapped in your own house in front of everybody that knows you the rich guy can't deny it 😂 good scene and we'll deserved.
By the end of those two slaps she gave him, you could tell she wanted to do that for a long time
Nah, she should have back handed and bloodied his nose at minimum.
Duncan played by Elias Koteas is now on Chicago PD as Undercover detective Alvin Olinski. Hardy Jennis played by Craig Sheffer was Uncle Keith Scott on One Tree Hill.
i love it when "tough guys" get put in their places
I used to always watch this film and Can't buy me love, with Patrick Dempsey
Best scene from one of the best movies of the 80s.... The only thing I always wondered about was why the best song in the whole movie that you hear in the back ground in this scene ( Charlie Sexton Beats So Lonely) was the only song not on the Soundtrack Album....Duncan steals the show in this great movie, great memories
"We're just gonna stick around here and try to crank up this party to a nice respectable level."
This is the best scene in any movies of all times. LOVE the justice....
+Krystallen “Marv” I've always said this. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so.
Yup! You can't beat it! No matter how many times I watch this movie, I can't get over this scene.
"this is what my girlfriend would look like with no skin" duncan's best line, and good to know im not alone as a 40 something JH fan who still loves these films......
I thought he looks like a young Robert Deniro..
I LOVE this movie so freaking much!! 😍😍
By far the best scene n the movie!! Duncan my Homie!!
I'm an 80's kid. I totally forgot about this movie with 'You can't buy me love'&'say anything'. It wasn't till after high school and watching the Starz chanel that got me back. This is one of the greatest most underated 80's moments on film. "I DON'T SMELL NOTHING HERE BUT CHICKEN SH!!!T!!!"
one of the best 80's flicks out there well worth the watch and mary stuart masterson one of the first woman to make short hair sexy on a woman maybe it's just me but she was smoking hot in this movie
bob wylie What about Molly Ringwald in 16 Candles, her hair was short also and she was hot.
@@jeffnelson2930 Funnily enough Molly Ringwald was John Hughes' first choice to play Watts but she declined because she wanted to move to more adult roles. I'd say it was a great call because Mary Stuart Masterson nailed Watts' character although I am curious to see how Molly would have played the part (and if she would have cut her hair short to a similar style that Mary had it to sell her tomboy character).
It’s not just you.😉
@@holiday197check out Space Hunter: Adventures in The Forbidden Zone to see young Molly with short hair.
Every time i watch the scene when duncan comes in it gives me shivers. possibly the best movie ending ever
Duncan yup champion.... scene best ever....I'm back, I want you to beg..... duncan....don't think that's going to be necessary. Brilliant...
Lea Thompson was one of the most beautiful actresses of the 80s.

Just going to make him cry a little bit.
Duncan was my boy. loved him.
Back again..so awesome. Remember going into school and everyone was going on about "that movie" including my crush. Fondest memories ever.
Lea Thompson is such a talented actress.
I miss the 80's ... music, fashion, movies .... less drama!!
They don't make them (movies) like they used to! And I'm kind of glad for that, the experience of feelings a certain movie give you is priceless!
Always loved this scene
Can we all just agree that John Hughes' movies had the best soundtracks and just leave it at that?
The level of satisfaction is just 👌
Remember....anything for a pal.
Elias Koteas (Duncan) deserves more love from the general population. Dude's been one of my favorite actors for years, a real treasure!
Classic, One of the Most Memorable Scenes from a movie growing up!
I cheered when Duncan walked in....
great scene...memories are flooding in like a Tsunami
Sooo lonely, beats so lonely... love this song and this movie!
Duncan is so cool!!!
Greatest teen movie for sure.
This still gets me. I love this movie!
this is what I need. I wished I had a crew or a few of my kindred comrades in my circle to back me up
Movies like this will never be made again.
Duncan was to the 80’s what Fonzi was to the 70’s
Long live the bad guys with a heart of gold.!
that's why movie theatres in the 80's were so cool
This is so heartbreaking in so many ways. Amanda begs Hardy not to hurt Keith, and Hardy has this "New" Girlfriend who has to realize that Hardy never wanted her. Probably The Frist time a Black Guy was in Hardy's House in a Non Subservient way. Did you ever see Craig Schaffer in A Seas In Purgatory by Dominick Dunne. He played Constant Bradley, who comes from a Kennedyesque Family who killed a Girl and got away with it. Hard to believe the Blond is Chynna Phillips Daughter of the Late John & Chynna Phillips Of The Mamas & The Papas. She was probably the only one of John's Children who came out "Normal".
This is my favorite scene
