Thank you Sadie, for this beautiful tribute! ❤ My grandfather ran away from his home in Norway to Scotland,to get training to be a solidier..He was only 16.. But! Just when he arrived in Scotland, they announsed that the war was over, and Norway was a free country again! ❤👏👏👏
Thanks so much for your tour of the D-Day landing beaches Sadie and Moe. My wife’s great uncle Jody Daniel gave his all and never returned to us from Omaha beach and is represented by one of the nearly 10,000 tombstones at the memorial. Your vlog was a welcome sight that we Americans need to be reminded of especially this week. The very best of the allied countries faced almost certain death in the fight to eradicate tyranny and end the nazi party’s control of europe. It seems that some of our own people have been misguided into thinking that white nationalism and naziism are ideals that will be tolerated in the united states but if these people really want to show their patriotism as they falsely proclaim I would recommend following the examples set by your grandfather and our uncle Jody and remember all the sacrifices made to eradicate the horrors of the german white nationalist movement known as the nazis. Great timing and wonderful content.
From the bottom of my heart, Sadie , I want to thank you for this video. We owe an inestimable debt to the valiant young men like your Grandfather. God bless the generation that saved the world.
What a lovely tribute to your grandfather. As an American it was very moving to see this and yes we all need to REMEMBER not just those we lost but to never let it happen again.
My father was in the 101st Airbourne Division. He jumped the night prior to the invasion. Only 45 men survived our of his battalion. My dad was one of the survivors. I was fortunate to be able to visit the American And Canadian Cemeteries 7 years ago. Very moving. Thank you for sharing these sites.
I am a proud Canadian and my mother's mom lost 3 of her 5 brothers during the war. Two were at Juno beach and one was in Italy. Thank you for taking us along and showing us the D-Day landing sites and for making sure that we never forget.
My father was there at the Omaha Beach, he was a tank commander at the time. He did survive and stayed to liberate that part of France. He was also a reporter for Stars and Stripes. He was one of the reporters at the Nazi trials. It was so nice for you to pay tribute to your grandfather, and all the other troops.
Sadie, well done! This was an amazingly done video. I am Canadian and two of my uncles served during WWII in the Canadian Navy and they were on two frigates that brought the infantry to the assault at Juno. I am a retired soldier from Canada(1st Canadian signal regiment) also an American soldier from the USA(1st Battalion 75th regiment Rangers) I have several military friends, some that I have served with and several that I know. This was a fantastic capture of the history of D-day! I will be sharing this montage with my friends, especially during the first week of June. Thank you so much to let the younger generations know what happened. We need to keep history alive. God bless all the Pethericks!
What a beautiful tribute, Sadie. Your grandfather was a handsome man. Being Canadian, I was very moved by, and really loved, your segment on Juno beach. I have cared for a great number of veterans, during my nursing career. Much Love, from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦... Keli💖
Sadie, love your vlogs. Between Micheal, Billy and you, you have it covered. Love the history you give us and the time you give to your research . Regards Teri
Oh my goodness, Sadie. That was absolutely magnificent. My 26 year old daughter Is fascinated by WW2 and the whole D-Day invasion so we watched this together. We were both touched by the tribute to your grandfather and the thousands of others who sacrificed so much for us to be here today enjoying the freedoms we have. Playing Danny Boy was brilliant. Thank you so much for doing your part by helping us remember. Mary
Sadie, your timing is incredible. I’m in America and my heart has been broken over the last 4 years and bleeding in the last week. What has been most difficult is the sacrifice so many have made for peace and democracy with our friends across the pond. They remembered and honored those souls. This video, although my father landed in Iwo Jima, was exactly what I needed to release the tears I’ve been holding onto for so long. I pray our Country will heal and never again forget whose lives we live on through. Thank you so much dear heart.
Eight days can't come soon enough! My parents had a bunch of friends that fought in WWII (my dad fought in Korea). They didn't talk about it much, I only found out about some of them after they'd passed away. Heroes all.
Lovely tribute. I had the pleasure of knowing my Great Uncle and my Grandfather, and they were both injured and received Purple Hearts..........but wouldn’t talk about it 🥲. They were young enough to serve in too many wars. They showed and tonight me what FREEDOM is. Thanks Sadie ♥️
As a Canadian, I really enjoyed this video. Although I was only 2 mos old when this all took place and I was told the stories by my 3 uncles who served, 1 being on this very beach, I consider this an honour to watch your video. Well done!
Thank our Lord Jesus that my grandfather didn’t have to come on D-Day but the day after on “clean up duty” from America! It was a gruesome and terrible day for so many! 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 I’m so broken hearted for the men and families of DDay. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 My grandfather was haunted about this for the rest of his life.
Thank you. A beautiful tribute to your grandfather and all those soldiers who passed along those shores all those years ago..one of them was my father, who came in after the invasions and helped rebuild the roads and bridges for other troops to follow to liberate France. Beautifully filmed, brought me to tears.
Thank you Sadie, I found that quite emotional. My Uncle Sid was lost at sea aged 19 and Mum never got over the loss of her little brother. War is horrendous, let’s hope we don’t see another world war xxx
Well done such a beautiful tribute to your Grandfather!! I’m from American and my Grandfather also served all over Europe during World War ll. Loved seeing the monuments and hear the history behind them. 🇺🇸🇬🇧 🇫🇷
Thank you for a great tour of the landing beaches and sharing the history. I think most Canadians are taught the significance of our country’s history on Juno Beach. 🇨🇦☮️
Dear Sadie, Thank you for showing the beaches in France where the Allies landed in June, 1944. My uncle, my father's brother, Christy Q. Clark survived the landing on June 6, 1944 with the US Army. At the time, my father was in the Pacific with the US Navy fighting the Japanese. My uncle was killed on October 1,1944 in Belgium and was buried in Europe. I have his commendation from Franklin Roosevelt and his Purple Heart medal. Like many of those who fought in WWII, my father did not speak of the horrors he saw, nor the death of his closest brother. At some point, my grand aunts chose to bring my uncle home to California and he was reburied here. It is interesting how emotional one can feel about those horrible times. I salute and pray for all those brave young men, including your grandfather.
My grandfather also survived the landing, then went on to serve in Belgium. He walked in the parade when they all returned, along with Roosevelt. He lived to be 92 years old!
🇨🇦❤️Oh Sadie, thank you so much for this moving and magnificent tribute. I have no doubt that your Grandad would be incredibly proud of you. I’m not ashamed to tell you that this video brought me to tears. When I’ve had the opportunity to speak to veterans of the first and second world wars, especially on Remembrance Day, I struggle to get the words out because I’m so close to tears, but I do always manage to thank them for my freedom and then they go quiet and there’s a bit of sniffling from them as well. I was born 9 years after World War Two ended, and the loss of so many was still keenly felt and frequently spoken about when I was a child. It’s beyond my ability to imagine what it must of been like for my fellow Canadians to storm the beach at Juno because I was part of the first generation that knew peace and great prosperity for our entire lives, while those before us lived and died for the freedom that we took for granted. Again, thank you Sadie.
Thank you so much for showing this. Being 86 years young and an American I can remember well hearing of this on the radio. . It was so nice to see where history was made. Thank you again.
Excellent tour of the D Day beaches. I was very touched by the memorials and the information and history. Thank you for sharing. So nice of you to honour your Grandfather. It truly was a LOVING tribute. Enjoying your channel and looking forward to more. Great job Sadie and Moe.
Thank you Sadie! Very moving video, twenty five years ago, our first trip to France we drove and toured these beaches and visited the Canadian graveyard. 🇨🇦
The timing on this video couldn’t be better. I’ve been to the cemeteries in France, both wars. Until you have stood there and see the sheer volume of grave markers it’s just an abstract thought. These men, and some women gave up their lives for one word. Freedom. I’m gobsmacked when a sitting president visits and says “I don’t get it, what was in it for them.’ If you visit France visit the cemeteries. It will remind you of what you are, why you are, and those that fought for your rights. Really well done Sadie.
Thankyou Sadie Loved the visits to the D day beaches brave young men fighting so we can be free. The cementary was amazing can feel the peace and history. You must be so proud of your grandfather handsome and courageous and he too would be so proud of your father and mother family living in a.chateau in France-We must never forget❤️🙏🙏Thankyou Sadie Loved it❤️👏👏
Thank you Sadie for this video, so well done and what an honour to your grandfather. I have seen documentaries about D-day but your video with the drone made it so much more interesting...thank you! Keep up the good work, blessings from Canada xo
Cant thank you enough for showing & sharing this history with me & my family. My great grandmother had 5sons in that War. Greatful 5 sons returned alive but with eval nitmares.

Well done Sadie. Thank you. One of my uncles, a pilot, is somewhere out in the channel sea - Capt. Joseph Carter, 1943... the name of his plane was “Carter and His Little Pills” (I think).
That was lovely Sadie and such a thoughtful memorial to your grandfather and those who fought and died in the DDay landings. You and your family must be very proud of him 👏🏻
Sadie what a beautiful and informative vlog. Thank you for remembering all those brave men and women who died in Ww2. What a lovely tribute to you grandfather. Thank you
Sadie, I am so touched by this presentation! I needed a boost of patriotism in this trying time ( I am an American living in Europe). Your Great Grandfather would be very proud of this- indeed your entire family is proud of you. Thank you!
Great job Sadie. The drone shots of the American cemetery were beautifully done. What a wonderful tribute to your Grandfather. I’m really rooting for you.
REMEMBER THEM. Thank you for your brief tour of the D-Day landing beaches. I visited them in March 2013 and stayed in Bayeau for 5 days. There is so much history that happened in a brief, bloody, and brave few hours, weeks, months in 1944 that ended up saving Europe and the world from fascism. I am most impressed that young people are aware of the history and there are no deniers here. Thank you, Sadie--well done!
Sadie you did such an incredibly fantastic job with this piece! As an American I am so grateful to hear about good American soldiers fighting for "shared peace". Especially in this time of turmoil here. I cried the whole time Because of the beauty of this video. Please keep making videos you're doing such an amazing job, you are great at this!
Thanks for sharing such a touching tribute to your fraternal grandfather. I was overwhelmed to see the Normandy beaches from your perspective n it is definitely still on my bucket list to see in person some day. Once again, you've topped your brothers on a vlog subject! Keep it up, Sadie!
Your grandmother looks like she could have been my mother’s sister. My mother was born in 1930. Her side of the family has been in the USA since the 1600s. I was quite shocked for a moment when I saw that photo! Lovely tribute for your grandad.
So many young men who willingly went to fight and die for the right of people's liberty. To fight the fascists/dictators of that day empowered them & scarred them in such deep ways, too. Tears as you read the plaques & honors accorded to those who died before they could live. That cemetery is a heartbreaking record of sacrifice for others' and the life of democracy to come. Thank you for this tour. Kudos to your Grand-dad, too.
This is a great idea to remind us of this vital piece of recent history; what a lot of work you put into this and what a fitting and heart felt tribute to your grand father and your own dear dad! Thank you Sadie and Mo.
I am a german and my father was born in 1922. So he was told that british, french and many other people were his enemys. He was a soldier too and he became a captivity as a prisoner of war by the Britains. He always told us how very fair and friendly they were treted. Later he got the chance to study in Cambridge for a summer and he was always very thankful for that. So I grew up knowing that nowbody is my enemy and that ist is very importent to be friends with your neighbours. I am very happy to live in these times. Let uns never forget about that! Thank you for that video
Sadie. That was such a beautiful tribute to the history of the beaches of Normandy. Thank you for this I felt I was there with you. I didn't know if I would follow you at first but you have made so far the most enjoyable videos. I am a big fan of you now. You have 3 amazing videos and your talent is in your delivery. I hope to see many more. I love you and all the family. Keep up the good work. Lora Florida USA.

Love this episode, and the style that you’re developing. It is uniquely you, and such a poignant tribute.
Wonderful, wonderful video. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much Sadie, wonderful yet quite moving

Thanks for showing us this. You guys did a fantastic job.
This is a great idea to remind us of this vital piece of recent history; what a lot of work you put into this and what a fitting and heart felt tribute to your grand father and your own dear dad! Thank you Sadie and Mo.
Very moving and beautifully done, Sadie! So important to be reminded to uphold the values of democracy in today's world. xx
Thank you, Sadie, for sharing this video. My dad landed on Omaha beach, fourth wave, during the war. Thanks so much for sharing ❤
