Found out about Elfen Lied from learning the origin of these song names. Finally watched it this week. One of the goriest shows I've ever seen. That brutality gets represented wonderfully in this song.

Yo I've known of VoM for a bit only just digging into this record now though and am loving it but are the volumes between tracks really this different on the record? or is it just the uploads here on YT? because this track is like way more volume than the following one and others I've noticed have louder/quieter mixes. I'm loving the songs but it's hella annoying adding this is as a playlist & then it just sounds inconsistent when played through.

i just wish they didn't go back to getting a fry vocalist like they did with Adam on their first album. There's something about fry vocals and Veil of Maya that just don't sound good to me and I don't know what it is, fry vocals just aren't powerful enough for this band I guess. Butler and his extremely heavy false chord growls/screams were meant for VoM, I wish he never left. I'll still check this album out though because at least Okubo is still there and he was 3/4 the reason why I ever loved VoM for the past couple years anyway.
I am going to have to agree with you. I like the cleans and what not, just his screams are powerful enough.

TehKrakerzGuy Uh, you're wrong. There is no vocal fry going on here. Those are guttural screams/growls, which also use the false vocal cords. Vocal fry is something completely different. Look it up. This vocalist is awesome.

Im realizing years later that someone is trying to stop me from playing metal by doing strange sound engineering or imitation while I rehearse. It's like they want me to write then let go so they can steal it or just stop "bass" and breakdown riffs. Anyway I got in a weird battle with Okubo regarding his deviation from normal dude to designer shirt sorcerer stage presences. It seemed too dark for me like he wasn't happy beneath. Anyway I'm convinced it's all a facade. Someday I'll spin common man's collapse to matriarch. Not at one time. That's too much noise. Not even all in a row either cause I'll need some classy shit like Radiohead to break it up. I'm not saying you're not classy but those guys are English. They have their own armada and everything. Tea Co.. notice the second period there. They have their own tea company. They also have their own WoW server cause the word shire was involved.

I agree, can't penalize them on trying something new. This band took a direction that I was hoping they wouldn't go. I like my metal raw, and not so prettied up with layers and layers of studio effects. Most of all, no singing unless it's a dedicated ballad of some kind.
