Who is looking to buy one of these tanks built by Lexus?!
Canadian Rider thanks for the update!
thanks for the review. im gonna be looking for this car now that I know its worth the amazing price.
im in the states, im considering either a 2009-2012 IS250 or ES350, i heard lexus did work out the kinks in the later half of the 2nd gen IS issues like carbon buildup and melting dash
me maybe
Thanks for this review. Although I live in another country, I find your review extremely useful. An acquaintance of mine is selling 2007 IS250 with only 54,xxx km milage. Now that I watched your review, I'm buying it (in Thailand we only have IS250 models unfortunately).
Scotty kilmer approved this video.
But He would say : buy the regular gazoline if you Don't need power...
Lol! Agreed...
David de Mafate will it damage the engine if you pump 87 gas?
@@Dro-Ordanzo i dont know. Just heard from Scotty Kilmer. You shouls ask him, he answers in videos online.
Never know when he say that it is unreliable
My aunt has a 06 IS 250 and she had me take it in for an oil change just recently. Didn't realize it until I looked on the odometer but she is at 232,000 miles. I had to do a double take. It's super smooth, sporty (not to be confused with a M3) yet reliable. Lexus builds quality cars. Take care of it, and it will take care of you.
Lexus mega car under the radar leave them lot fighting it out about c class and 3 series both of witch will have dash lights like xmass !
“Take care of it, and it will take care of you.” Something a person trying to defend bmw would say😂
Lol you mean Toyota
The IS350 bears very little resemblance to any Toyota badged car. @@peppitachips1764
Awesome update man. My 07 IS 350 has been super reliable and has 180,000 miles on it now
Thanks for sharing Marty another satisfied Lexus owner :)
IS 350 is port injected & the IS250 is direct injection, so the 350 will likely carry you alot further than a 250 as far as reliability for that simple fact.
And we know about carbon build up now that we didnt know about back then so many IS250 probably have poor maintenance in that regard.
Millennial_Weeb the port and direct together in the 350 is really the perfect system! Minimal carbon buildup which is nice
Any engine issues like carbon buildup or ticking?
Nope not for the is350
You didn't mention the speakers, best factory speakers i ever had.
@@blacksmithie what about non Mark Levinson
@@AustinsCoins they sound pretty good my aunt had one without them but it was kinda just like the Bose system without the bose symbol lol
Sold mine last year after owning for ten years and kind of regret it. Still a beautiful and bulletproof car over a decade later.
Most reliable v6 engine in the world
I bought a 2007 IS350 3 years ago with 120k miles for $13k. At 174k miles and this car is a TANK. Just maintenance, battery and an alternator since. Just did brakes all around myself. LOVE this car.
Thanks for sharing Steve and welcome to the channel glad to hear your Lexus is bausssss status
I have an 06 350 & it has over 180,000 miles on it. It still drives smooth as the day I got it...I agree another lexus is on deck
I also recently a 2010 IS350 and boy what a car. Totally agree, none of the German 3 touches this vehicle. I will also pass it on to the family when I upgrade to the LC500.
Amazing to hear man, and welcome to the channel! When the update comes I am sure your family will love it as well

Did you accidentally the whole thing, by any chance?
I have an IS350, with Ohlins suspension and Rays wheels, couldn’t be any happier! Love it, never have a problem with since day 1!
Got my 2010 is250 last year and still loving it. Appreciate ur videos bro
I recently bought an 06 Avalon with the same 2GR-FE 3.5 with 156k miles and just drove it across the U.S. and back and drive it 100 miles daily to work 5-6 days a week. Now at 163k miles and still runs and drives flawlessly.
Awesome thanks!
I was contemplating buying a 2007 Lexus IS 250 for 8,000. 112,000 miles. I will definitely check the maintenance records. Nice video.
I traded in my Mercedes 3 years ago for a Lexus once I saw my friends do the same. Never had any regrets whatsoever. ; )
Smart man over here welcome to the channel brother
I bought my 2006 350 off the showroom floor and still have it. it has about 227,000 miles on it. Still runs great still and quick, have kept up with all maintenance and oil changes. My experience almost like yours. However the only negative thing is it slightly burns oil internally do to rings, which is normal after this many miles and I have been a little hard on the car. But still runs great. One catalytic converter is clogged up needing to be replaced. Other than that, it gets me every where I need to go, better than a car payment. knock on wood.
Hey Kevin welcome to the channel that sounds amazing thanks for sharing your story! glad that the car is still holding up well for you I have the exact same year and model. minor little maintenance items as you mentioned but overall running amazingly strong with over 300,000 km. Keep up that regular maintenance!
Old comment but did you ever replace the clogged cat or still using the old one?
I have a is350 2007 F-Sport, silver with black interior, can’t be happier!
Just picked up a 2007 IS350 with 76,000 miles on it a couple days ago. I'm so in love. It's nice to have that peace of mind that things won't break, and if they do, it won't cost a fortune. It's a break from the other European performance cars like M cars and AMGs that I used to daily that I would constantly have to worry about. Sure the Lexus isn't as fast or as much of a "driver's car," but it's comfortable, pretty quick for what it is, pretty good looking, and again, super reliable.
Agreed and congratulations on the car man
Nice man👍 how much did you pay for it I'm shopping for one right now!!

More to come :) welcome to the channel
Very helpful. Thank you.
My 2007 2is just reached 200K kms today and still running like flying colours. One recent major maintenance I did on my 2is was changing its ATF, but that was 7 months back, other than that, it's a magic carpet ride with oil change every 5000 kms using Shell Helix 10W-40 but I am finally going to change the oil back to what is recommended, 5W-40 end of this Dec. The last time it uses 5W-40 was when it came out back in 2007.
I own an 08' is250x, great, reliable and responsive car. If you're considering buying one, always change your oil regardless of how healthy it looks now, check your fluids, feed it premium fuel and you'll own a great car. Best car for comfort, luxury and everything else including some rear wheel drive action lol!
I bought my 2008 is250 in mint condition with all the maintenance recorded in 2016, it’s still mint, the black paint will be dirty, but it still looks shiny, I’ve driven the hell out of it, and it’s such a nice, luxurious, cool, sporty, amazing car, I legit get compliments from strangers, never experienced that, in an old car! I do have some nice rims, which I would recommend, but I’m never selling this machine
Excellent review. Thank you. A Lexus for less than $10k including legendary engineering and reliability. You can’t go wrong with that.
Absolutely and welcome to the channel Pankaj. Make sure to subscribe I'll have more Lexus videos coming down the pipe as well :)
You should be a car salesman :) I already drive an IS250 and I want to go out and buy one after watching this video.
Just bought my 1ST Lexus, a 2012 IS250 Gunmetal Grey with only 40K miles on the odometer. Love the roar!

Thanks Wadson welcome to the channel buddy, glad you are loving your is350 too!

Was waiting for this. Thank you. Excellent review. Everything u said is spot on. I worked for Lexus back in 2006-2008 and drove everything. I have to say the IS350 was my favorite. Love that body style and one day still hope to get one. It's kinda become my Eleanor car.

I chose this car for my wife as a daily, it is super nice. I know the newer 8 speed transmission isn’t known to be as reliable as the 6 speed but should be OK if taken care of.
Your wife is probably very happy :-) my fiance is very happy with it as well
207k 2008 IS250 AWD here, still driving as a new, much more fun to drive than my brand new 2019 RAV4 Trail. I did put quite a bit of $ recently for new shocks and alternator (yes at 300k driving in Canadian conditions this is what could make it bail out on you on a trip)... but now I’m probably good for another 10 years on this beast.
Just today, in downtown Toronto, i test driven lexus is250 2006...it has 250k and its a manual/standard...he offered me $3000. So that brought me to your video and im considering it
I have a 2013 LExus ES350. BOught it this April with only 30k miles. 2nd owner, first owner traded it in. Bought it for $18,700. I am trying to soak it all in because I'm in the market for a 2010 - 2012 Lexus IS350, any inside tips?
Definitely pick up the 2022 model and up for the upgraded exterior and interior
I'm into the older body style such as 2010 - 2012 models , they are hard to find but I'm determined. Thanks again and please keep educating us!💯
Great review is exactly how I feel I drive a 2007 Toyota Yaris S 4 door sedan I had the car for 5 years and it never gave me any problems I'm looking to buy an IS350 or an IS250 manual and if I can't find any of those cars for a good price I'll try to get a ES350
As the original owner of an ‘06 IS 350, I can wholeheartedly attest to this video. Still loving mine and to this day still can’t find a sport sedan I’m willing to replace with, especially in terms of power it got after I put in the F Sport intake, exhaust and sway bars in ‘09.
Good video , I have a 02 is 300 and looking into the new generation .
Thanks man and welcome to the channel. The is300 was a solid car as well
I'm a hardcore German car fan but I must say I fell in love with Lexus. I own a 2006 IS 250 awd and it's a beast. The only big problem that they have (the 250, not the 350) is with the direct injection. If you find somebody who can do a walnut blasting on the intake valves then you should be golden. I used to have a misfire on cyl3 on cold starts, found a local guy who performs walnut blasting on BMW's and Minis and he's also a cnc welder so he measured the intake and made the tool to walnut blast the Lexus, guess what? Misfire went away and never came back.
great to hear that you also experience such great things with this car :-) welcome to the channel my friend and thanks for sharing your story
07 IS250 owner, beautiful in and out fully loaded with Nav and still looks new and shiny. Garage kept. Has 258,000 miles and runs perfect. Still amazes me when I step on it and you feel the back tires dig into the ground and go! Besides the normal stuff, brakes, tires, fluid changes. The only problem I had 2 yrs ago was the alternator died. This car is super reliable and people always think it is newer than it is....Staggered tires though can run expensive if you don't shop around. Do not hesitate to buy one but all used cars should've had preventative maintenance done, check records prior to purchase. I am only attesting to my IS250 at this mileage. I am serious about preventative maintenance.
Amazing story Tony thanks for sharing and welcome to the channel!

Just got a 2007 awd 180 km Nav from a wholesaler they are hard to find because folks now know how reliable Lexus cars are. The navigation guide that it came with is for a 2010 so not quite the same. Bluetooth only connects cellphone no music control for the iPhone. So far no issues 😊

My 2009 IS 250 is at 140k miles and never changed the transmission fluid. Apparently it’s “lifetime” but I can’t fully believe this to be true. Have you changed your transmission fluid ever? Some even tell not to do it, I get mixed answers all the time. What are your thoughts on changing the transmission fluid at 140k miles ? And how often should I change it ? Every 30k miles? Is that overkill? Also... no problems when automatic gears shift, still pretty smooth.
Bought my 2007 is350 in 2013 with 69k miles, today it has about 160k miles, issues I’ve had, driver side door panel looks worn, replaced battery once, alternator went out at 130k, fuel filter, replaced front and rear brakes, at the moment it has a small valve cover gasket leak, but overall one of the reliable cars I’ve owned
Since you’re from Ontario this would help me alot, how much are you paying for insurance?
How does it compare to the 3rd gen Acura TLs? I have a 2007 TL and was really eying up a 2006 IS 250 but went with the TL
Bought a 2011 Lexus IS 350 with only 96000 km on it for 15k a few months ago not gonna lie was a very impulsive decision but when I test drove it I was like this cars mine lol. It’s everything I want in a car runs mint probly my favourite car ever

I've got the 3rd gen 2014 F-sport with 130k. Just fixed left leaking left strut and leaking differential. Fixing differential was pretty expensive and Lexus charges $160/hour. At 100k did spark plugs, transmission fluid, radiator fluid, transfer case, throttle body cleaning which costed around $2k. Saying its just oil changes is misleading, its not just engine oil changes... if u were a "long time" owner u would know... driving high mileage car for 2 years is not a fair and misleading. Regardless its still impressive its still going strong.

So considering this video talks about an older model, would it be wise to get a 2015 is250 in the days of today?
My only gripe with mine is the melting dashboard/door cards and squeaky interior. With no premium fuel where I am my fuel economy is paltry (15mpg average).... Will be trying some octane booster soon to see how much difference it makes. All in all though a great car.
Hey man!! Great car, I've seen you around Toronto lol.. I'm thinking of getting an 06 is350 rwd, however it's just over 300km. However I'm a bit concerned about the rwd in the winter. I have driven my e46 330ci for part of the winter but had to put it away because I got stuck too many times. With the snow mode and a set of x-ice or blizzaks does it still slide when your driving conservatively? Thanks for any suggestions in advance.
Hey Ishwar! With some good winter tires it's manageable in the winter but it can get a little squirly in bad conditions. Honestly, not so bad and can be fun ;) Go for it and don't let it deter you from a great car!

Very nice review.
Have you also changed regularly the gear box oil and the rear axle oil?
I have not touched those oils and based on discussions on some forums they are quote on quote lifetime oils. to be honest not sure how valid this is but nothing has happened to this time so I hesitate to change anything
OK. But no oil is made to last forever. This is a scam.
Scotty kilmer explains that very well in one of his videos.
Now for you it's a gamble. Either you change the gearbox oil and everything goes well, either you change it and problems start to occur.
If I would be you I wouldn't change it. Better live with it, but those oil changes should have been changed every 60.000 kms, but you must know that you are going to face troubles sooner or later.
At least, you can change the rear axle oil. It's an easy job and it won't affect it.
The gearbox will be a problem.
Good luck.
Oil. The W on the label of multi-weight oil stands for Winter. The number before the W represents the low temperature viscosity. 5W20 and 5W30 have the SAME viscosity in Winter conditions. You might want to switch to a 0W20 or 0W30 for winter. Better yet use Amsoil Signature Series 0W30 all year and just change your tires, washer fluid and wiper blades when it gets cold.
Even worse, 5W20 is thinner than 5W30 at operating temperature (the last number indicates the viscosity when warm), and the IS250 manual calls for 5W30 only (10W30 in a pinch). That engine requires SAE 30 viscosity at operating temperature. By giving it SAE 20 oil, you are risking insufficient lubrication, premature wear, and damage. At the very least, it has not been tested with the 20 weight oil. By putting it in, you are performing an experiment. Now, 0W30 (which didn't exist when the IS250 came out) would have the same characteristics when warm as 5W30, but would be slightly less viscous when cold, so that is a good recommendation to improve cold lubrication in winter. (0W30 when cold is still thicker than 5W30 warm, so you don't have to worry about insufficient viscosity there.) But don't go putting in 5W20 or 0W20 if you care about the engine, unless Toyota recommends it. You've been warned.
Good review...I have a 2010 Ford Fusion V6 as my daily vehicle and is going on 128,000miles and no major issues besides the basic maintenance. Brakes, battery, oil changes, etc. Definitely don’t want to drive the Audi all year around. 😁
That's pretty solid for the Fusion, is it considered a reliable car for many? Definitely the Audi only comes out to play when the conditions are appropriate ;)
I have a 2006 is 250 awd and its beautiful car but I feel like it’s kinda slow for a v6 and great info about the cars
The is250 and is350 average mpg is nearly identical tank for tank.. the extra horsepower is the winner.
I have a 2006 IS 250 we purchase 1 year old in 2007. I had to replace the transmission twice. Sewell recommended Aamco, but transmission failed at the 3-year mark. I let the car sit for 4 years in my drive while I debated to put in another this summer which I did. Overall, the only expense has been routine maintenance, nothing major. I always go to the dealership for maintenance with the exception that I pulled it out of service after sitting 4 years I had Christian brother check it out and change the fuilds and battery.
Thanks buddy for the video
I’m living in GTA area and I seen by Lexus IS 350 2007 generation all are rear wheel drive and then you don’t problem in winter time here in Ontario because I found good deal and I want go for it 😊?
As long as you have winter tires, you should be fine. Of course, it’s not going to be the best in the world in the winter but with winter tires you’ll be fine and can still have fun 😉
Hey mate, can send us a link to what Bluetooth transmitter you are using pls?

It's a nice item for those DIY mechanic's
That's only 186,000 miles that is pretty low mileage
