At first glance this song seems so oblique, but after a few listens I think I have a better understanding: It's a wistful assessment of Avalon's life thus far, a sentimental reflection on her youth and hopefulness for her adulthood. But that hopefulness is tempered by worries (the "poison") that cloud her visions of tomorrow. That's my interpretation, anyway. Avalon, you're amazing. Thank you for sharing your perspective on the world with us!

discovered avalon when supporting bat for lashes yesterday. This song really stuck out and it was so beautiful live! Avalon is such a natural stage presence. However, can anyone help with the synthy bit- it really reminds me of a tune and its killing me not to be able to identify it!!

That's pretty cool. Relatable. This might be my favorite track. Wish i could see her in philly or nyc next week. 😢
