  • Hello,
In this video we talk about the sine rule, which can be very helpful in finding the side and/or angle of a triangle given one other side and an angle opposite to the side, plus an angle for which you wish to find the corresponding side and vice versa. We then introduce the more powerful cosine rule, which is a tool that enables us to find the side and/or angle given two other sides and one angle. Finally, we have the formula for the area of a triangle, which is given as (1/2)ab sin C, or (1/2)bc sinA, or (1/2)ac sinB. It is explained in further detail in the video. (Realise that the area of a right angled triangle is also given by this formula, as the base and height are the two sides and the angle between them is 90 degrees, and of course sine of 90 is 1, therefore (1/2) ab sinC becomes (1/2) bh *1 which is equal to (1/2)bh.) We go through a worked example question that makes use of these tools and arrive at the correct answer. I hope you enjoy the video! Hi,
Sure. If you can send the link to the problem I’ll take a look. Thanks for suggesting
