What makes this version so good is the small venue and the shear fun they are having. JK is working the stage in this small club just like he does in a big venue. This is still my go to for Canned Heat. Just a fantastic performance. Imagine being there and hearing this band perform.
There's nothing like a live performance of "Canned Heat"! At 3:44 of the video, the women singers start with the chorus: "You know this boogie is for real "Got so much canned heat in my heels, yeah" The joy I feel listening to their singing is heavenly. Then at 4:45, the band starts to break it down with guitar solo. It's a jam that's seldomly done anymore. And at 6:30 the conga drums take the spotlight, for a while. Next; at 6:58, the keyboard takes the beat (and breaks it down). Finally; at 7:58, the entire band puts the emphasis on that chorus with those female singers giving us the gist of what this song is about. Jamiroquai takes us to the end of the song, that I don't want to stop.
this is the BEST song. the beat is great and just the energy this song gives is a mind blower. he is singing the hell out of this. the back up singers are beautiful, and they are having a good time.
This is my favorite band of all!!!!!!!!!!! I love the way they do the breakdown...the keyboard chords in the breakdown remind me of jersey house music a little. This band gives me hope for real music.
that's soo cool to watch when the singer just loving what he's doing)))you can see he is soo excited ,music is going trhough his body.makes me smile, his performance, voice and style of the music. great!
Any1 ever notice what bad luck he has with microphones @ his concerts & how quickly he recovers from it without missing a beat? Just another example of what a consummate professional he is. Any1 else would have gotten all flustered but not him. He is truly 1 of a kind-born to perform live!
+Moses Cen Truer words could not have been spoken. I also notice that white people from the UK don't try to act "urban" like whites here in the US that are into soul music. It really is quite interesting.
Everything said below and then some! Absolutely amazing!! Ever since I first saw him in Napoleon Dynamite I’ve been hooked on him and his music! Beyond rocks it!!! 👏👏👏👏❤️❤️😍
Perhaps you haven't heard enough current music to know this isn't true and one of the most generalization comments you can make man . Really tired and played out
@@blackknight2937 You're the one who missed the point. Live performances are a problem ONLY in the most mainstream pop music, because we all know how these hopelessly talentless pop star wannabes rise to fame.
Without a doubt the BEST VERSION of this song EVER!! I would piss my pants if I saw them live and they played it like this. Thanks for posting on CZcams!!
jamiroquai have always beeen so talented , even when they change members they all are at the same level , and they make happy music which doesnt happen anymore
Maybe it's just me who feels this way, but the drums are not getting the spotlight it deserves! Derrick is KILLING it in this song! He's got so much groove and knows when to fill in; an excellent musician if you ask me.
The problem I have with Jamiroquai now is that I can't listen to their albums without stopping some of the tracks and playing the live version of them instead....simply amazing.
how can you not be in a good mood listen to this, lmao makes me wanna clean the house for no reason or remodel it lol.. soul music
"makes me wanna clean the house for no reason" - lol
Or just.. y'know.. pack up and move to another country.. Maybe 'tis just me
@@LDacic if you got money like that I agree lol
@@LDacic or give this country back to the native americans
I used to clean the whole house with Jamiroquai's playlist. Only felt tired after everything was squeaky clean.
He sings equally the same as well as the album version. Undoubtedly one of the better musicians alive.
I've seen 50 different versions of this song live. This version is, hands down, my favorite.
+Jeff Tew have you checked out the live version in argentina?
So wish I could have attended this performance.
Quite similar to the one they played in São Paulo, the same year.
Fortunately, I was there. One of the best days of my life.
@@Fostt7 That version is amazing. Think it needs the stadium to bounce to it though. It was perfect.
@@casper50 05:04 is brilliant 😅
How is this not more known?? I’m borderline offended it took me until 2020 to see this MAGIC
Checkout Matt Johnsons YT channel and last album.
Not forgetting the musicians!!!!!!!!
Great ensemble
Who is listening to this amazing live performance in 2020?
21!
missing the action so much
Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....yeahhhhhhhhhh
Almost 22

This group has a way of making you feel their energy.
What incredible performers!!!
If only all bands live performances were performed to such a high standard

this is my favourite performance ever!
complete with feedback and a microphone drop and those back up vocals - it doesn't get any better than this - wish I coulda' been there.
Same here!!
OMFG, he dropped his mic 10 times on that concert lol
THE BEST LIVE VERSION THAT I`VE HEARD IN MY LIFE!!!!!!!
This guy is a true musician- all of his live stuff is consistently great he has a great voice and the band is awesome- so underrated

God! ... I LOVE this Band!....
Absolutely incredible. I'm speechless.

Jay Kay is the most consistent when it comes to his tune. always on spot
Too Good!!! I can watch it over and over! Jay Kay is the man.....
This is my favorite band of all!!!!!!!!!!! I love the way they do the breakdown...the keyboard chords in the breakdown remind me of jersey house music a little. This band gives me hope for real music.
Man he is just pitch perfect love to see singers enjoying their craft, great band!!
this is a beautiful song. the sisters are doing their thing in the background!!!!!!
WHAT A BAND!!! THE BEST!!!!!!! I WAKE UP AND I NEED TO LISTEN THIS SONG.....JUST DANCEEEEEEEEEEE
i just discovered after hearing this song for the very first time that it is a hangover cure....

Amazing how music make you feel your apart of it 🎧🎵🎶🎵🎶🎙
Straight up...this band is about as tight as you can get...such funky grooves...love it!!!!!
Amazing......and no auto tune. This is how it's done kids
+Rob Warren Music Well remember!
amen brotha!
I wish people in the US “got” this music. I’d so much rather play this than the usual “stuff” for my gigs.
You only get one life: play the music you want to play.

What was that at the start there was also some feedback seconds later but he carried on so perfectly
Thas one funky whiteboy...
Moses Cen Brit Soul RULES black or white
+Weadfreek Hip-hop, funk, blues and all other black originated music is a culture not a race.
keverinkarama True. But in terms of types. There are majorities and minorities. As unfortunate as is, the minorities try to act as majoroties.
Moses Cen It doesn't matter. Race is not the point. Music is about emotions. There's no reason to say non-blacks cannot convey these emotions.
+Moses Cen Truer words could not have been spoken. I also notice that white people from the UK don't try to act "urban" like whites here in the US that are into soul music. It really is quite interesting.
Just love it, boogie music never dies.
I love the conga sound @ 6:28!! I saw Jamiroquai sing live once and he was unreal!! Total legend!!
Thank you jamiroquai for music which. Inspire Hope and energy
Everything said below and then some! Absolutely amazing!! Ever since I first saw him in Napoleon Dynamite I’ve been hooked on him and his music! Beyond rocks it!!! 👏👏👏👏❤️❤️😍
I´ve just danced my socks off to this. Thanks so much for uploading it!
Love...Love...LOVE Jamiroquai!!! Been hooked since 95 when I caught space cowboy on BET!!!
In this age of auto-tune and artificial vocal enhancements, its so refreshing to hear that a singer sounds exactly the same LIVE as he does on cd.
Perhaps you haven't heard enough current music to know this isn't true and one of the most generalization comments you can make man . Really tired and played out
no ear plugs.....

This is tight
It just makes me smile for 9 min. Love Jay Kay, love the band, and love the disco guitar at 5:01 and again at 7:00.
Jamiroquai...They bring the heat to the recording studio and to the people fresh and live! Yeah Baby, that's what's up know what I'm saying?
Without a doubt the BEST VERSION of this song EVER!! I would piss my pants if I saw them live and they played it like this. Thanks for posting on CZcams!!
Anyone ever notice how African drums can make an amazing song into an epic song? Once again this song is amazing!!
This has got to be the best live performance of this song on youtube! Almost perfect! so funky!
IDK how many times I wanna like this video, but probably 10000 times, at least! Such a pity I can like it only once! ;)
if I had a time machine only to go back and be there for this concert. J at their top
That was so funky! Love this ! Definitely a playlist favorite of mine !

Maybe it's just me who feels this way, but the drums are not getting the spotlight it deserves! Derrick is KILLING it in this song! He's got so much groove and knows when to fill in; an excellent musician if you ask me.
the exuberance!
It's more than better when I know that Jazz Cafe was my youndhood place at Pori - shame I didn't get to see this performance
His voice is so good
The best version of canned heat
wow! my all time fav canned heat version! absolutely awesome!

Now that's what I call music!
Love It!!!! Cool the way the horns are taking the string parts from the recording. I love the breakdown and of course, I love love love Jay Kay!!!
I love the brass section:-)
Totally Love LOVE LOVE Jamiroquai! and I so wish they were coming to the states sometime soon! Cause I canned heat in my heels tonight baby!
Best version for me too
Thats a bad ass boy. His music is ROCKIN !!!!!!!!!!! I just fell in love with his music. NICE.
Like this version the best, it's spontaneous and real. Jay looks adorable in his knit cap. Love the song, it inspires me
It is the best for sure. My question is, who are the 44 people that gave this a thumbs down.?...
I defy anyone to at least even tap their feet to this absolute monster of a tune./ performance.
this is what happens when you got so many excellent musicians in one only band... and they are getting better and better every day...
Gosh, that was freaking sweet
love this! more more more!
Such a tight performance all round, a joy to watch and listen to. JK is under rated in this country, in my opinion. Pure natural musical genius.
absolutely fantastic!
So good!
I do, I do - very much and with all my heart. Thank you! :)
Absolutely Amazing
This song is awesome!
Oh yeah... this song sounds so good with horns and drums and back-up singers.
amazing just amazing!!
I Love jay quai! His musicallity is amazing

Esta version es sencillamente FENOMENAL!!! Un arreglo y tiempos perfectos con la voz de Jay en su mejor tonalidad. Me fascina!!!
La versión de los Nobel 2010 es increíble también.
The problem I have with Jamiroquai now is that I can't listen to their albums without stopping some of the tracks and playing the live version of them instead....simply amazing.
