I don't know what's more impressive here.. The fact that you've built yourself a brand new welder or the fact that you know where everything goes when you put it back together 👏👏👌
Expansive documentation is required before even touching the object to restore it. You need pictures, and notes on things you have removed as you go.
@@enclaveofficerz3245 oh now I read this after tearing apart lord knows how many items and just end up with extra parts when putting it back together
Great Restoration, BUT, you have to scratch the paint when mounting all ground connections to the chassis! This is very important, especially for the PE connector. The RCD will never trip otherwise when someone comes in contact with a live chassis if a failure occurs!
Thanks for the tip! 😊❤️
I don't think this guy even cares, if you've seen his extension lead it doesn't even have a PE conductor.
@@FluxLabsProjects what's a pe conductor

Hai Good Evening wow Super Video Thanks
I just restored my 50+ year old Crsftsman AC arc welder and added a DC function. I used the same cable connectors that you did only I had to make my own holse for the connectors. Worked out great. Very good video and work.

such a lovely work of restoring a welding machine. big up
Thank you 🙏🏻❤️

I love seeing people put some love into old devices. I may not be familiar with welders but I do computer motherboards and some of the stuff I've fixed would have been scrap without a little love.
Thanks :)❤️
Doubth is that old it's igbt probably no more than 5 years
Well done. Unlike some of the other "restoration" channels this looks genuine. At least it's not an electronic device that have been laying in mud for a year and magically all boards work after cleaning with tap water.
There's some actual electronics repair going on here. I'm kind of amazed that only one MOSFET failed. Those usually fail in pairs (both high and low switch in a half bridge)
Thanks for liking my video 😊🙏
It seems to me that this is not only a restoration, but also an asmr
That old voltmeter is gorgeous
I think I'd start by making sure of the electrical fix before I did such an exquisite job on the paintwork :)

The Mechanics' Magic
Real clear that welder had a hard life before it was tossed out, glad to see it restored and working again.
Thanks :)

looks completely new after restoration, amazing work
Thank you for liking my job ❤️
An amazing restoration! I would recomend a hard plastic or metal cleaning brush or scrub brush for paint removal. They don't damage the metal and are easy to clean, plus it makes the removal easier and less time consuming.
Thank you so much 😊
I was surprised by how good things turned out despite what he used. I prefer to use Steam, Dishwashers, Ultrasonic, Wire Wheel and Air before I ever lift a brush.

Impressive how you got around not having a color decal printer that was a lot of work but the results were very good. You really shouldn't clean pcbs with gasoline though, it's rather rough on what can be delicate traces. Isopropanol alcohol is the preferred method
Thanks for liking my video :) ❤️
Honestly, given where he's at, isopropyl may not be as accessable as it is where you or I am. Gotta work with what you can get.
Won't argue with either of you; as you're both correct.
@@ryan-uu9lj if he's got access to a welder, gasoline, and the internet then there's a huge chance he's also got access to any number of proper cleaning substances.
the danger isn't just with the traces but with the enamel that is on the transformer's wiring. The gasoline will absolutely start to dissolve that coating as well as cause it to be far more brittle. Over time that will lead to the windings shorting out and causing a serious dangerous situation to people and the building itself since it could electrocute someone as well as cause a fire.
Thank you so much 🙏

The best one I seen so far is this one, that is more than a restoration, is an art with style.. You are the master....

Amazing restoration. A couple of those capacitors looked like they were bulging and in need of replacing.
Pretty good work. One major thing - DO NOT - never use gasoline to clean circuit boards. Use denatured alcohol if you don't have the correct chemicals. It will degrade the insulation and capacitors and other components. One minor mistake, spinning up that fan like that till it whines will ruin the bearings just that fast. They aren't meant for that fast speed and you definitely damaged it permanently - it will now last half as long or less.
Thanks 🙏 ❤️
Fantastic rebuild its brand new again .Thanks for keeping me to your channel.

When did the loose spade connector of the yellow cable magically solder itself into the lower board? 😉
Great job and very satisfying to watch !!
BTW....saw you cleaning he PCB's with gasoline ? The professional reconditioning firms (Cleaning up after smoke damage caused by fires etc.) throw everything in warm water with mild soap ! Even CRT's (who still uses these ??) can be submerged completely. The trick is the drying process...... First they clean with soap, rinse with water, air-blow it dry and rinse again with de-mineralized water. Airblow again and dry for 24 hrs. min in 35-40 degr. Celcius moving air (running fans). Results are factory new !!
Nevertheless......awesome job !!
Thanks 😊
That’s got to be one of the best functional restorations I have seen on youtube yet.
I think a better job could have been done on prep and paint on the front panel. But that is just nitpicking. Great job.
Thanks for liking my video :) ❤️
TOP. Uma obra de arte! muito bom mesmo.
Thanks 😊
Very nice restoration and repair! With all the time spent on the restoration I would have used some automotive epoxy bondo to fill in the minor imperfections on that front panel.
Are the labels on the back original from the manufacturer or are those something you printed?
I can't believe someone would trash such a piece of equipment and then throw it out when it quit working. Treat your tools well and they provide you years of reliable service!

I like that he went to the trouble of making or buying a sticker for the fan, then put it on the inside where nobody can see it.
I don't think I would have used gasoline to clean those circuit boards
Yes acetone or even 91% iso alcohol would be much better

Old? It has QR stickers inside, so it's limited how old it is. This model is a chinese produced privat label brand, that are still sold to this day. Scary that a 10-15 year 'old' welding machine is in this poor condition. I have used +30 year old welders, that was still 100% , But those were ofcourse not cheap chinese.
Yeah it does look like the previous owner really abused this poor machine.
When you blowed the fan it sounded like sirens 🤣

Great job

I thought it is India (The Jewel under the Republics) therefore I took the freedom to let Google translate my remarks into Hindi.
