We had the chance to visit a Buddhist temple in Northern Thailand and loved our experience! This video showcases the day to day life and what we experienced there!
I didn’t know you are allowed to bring children…. I would love to go that monastery as well. Can i ask you where you got the private ride to monasteries? Was it very expensive?
Hi! We just asked around at the travel agencies in town. It was $50 at the time. Usually, there is a bus that stops along the highway and you can walk to the monastery, but it wasn’t running that day. It is the bus to Mae Hong Son, I think.
I wonder if bringing kids wouldn't be disruptive to a temple stay? Or were they just visiting as tourists, I didn't watch the whole thing. Most retreats and temples would require a certain level.of commitment to the daily schedule and meditation routines. I think this was more just to go have a look around. I don't think you can (or should) bring children to a meditation retreat.
That is so wonderful that you are having this shared experience with your daughter.
It was such a good experience for all of us! I hope she always remembers it!
@@id_rather_be_traveling I am sure she will!
