Crochet In The Round Using Single Crochet - (Left Hand) Stitch Guide

  • This tutorial will demonstrate with the left hand how to crochet in the round by using the single crochet. I will give you two separate demonstrations on how to do this. The first demonstration is the most common method used to crochet in the round; however it does leave a hole in the middle of the work. This is acceptable, but if you are looking for an alternative method the second demonstration will show an alternative way to crochet in the round and not get a hole in the middle of your project.

Omg… I really love seeing another lefty! My grandmother and mother always told me they couldn’t teach me because I’m a lefty! And your voice and instructions on all your videos are clear and really explanatory without talking down. Thank you!,,,

Seriously the most helpful videos I've watched so far. Your voice is clear, your movements not too fast and everything is explained instead of just assumed this should be known. I've been trying to make a hat for weeks now (just a beanie) and I keep messing up on the circle, the doggoned patterns just did NOT make sense on these first few steps. NOW, they make sense. Thank you tons and tons!

Thank you so much. I see cute patterns for my Grandson but haven't done them because I didn't know how to do the magic circle.😊

Thank you so much. I can actually see your movements. You show them even when going through the circle. I haven't been able to see that from anyone else. I have been staying up late practicing and watching videos and I think I can do it now thanks to you. I do have one question though. How do I finish the circle without a lump at the end?

Your tutorial is really great. I enjoyed your video, now I am able to crochet in the round.
I do need just a little more practice in the round. My round is a little loose but with
practice the round will come out near. I hope you make more video. Thank You!

I was having trouble keeping track of which stitches to add an increase into while making round coasters. My solution is to use a disappearing ink marker to mark the top of the stitches (the V’s) where I wanted an increase. It saves a lot of time because I no longer have to constantly count and don’t have to unravel my mistakes.

What keeps the center hole tail from slipping and hole sliding open with use? I’m not understanding what locks it in place.
