first two seasons he was somewhat street smart but then in the later seasons let dumbed him down
It was a crime, that's what it was. They could have done something beautiful with Jake, but they chose the lowest common denominator.
Yeah, the finale even acknowledged that by having Alan tell Detective Wagner (Arnold Schwarzenegger) that Jake "Wasn't dumb at the beginning. He got dumb later on".

@@afonsodeportugal You're welcome. And yeah, I didn't even watch the last couple of seasons. Just didn't really care anymore. I caught the finale so I could see how they decided to end it, which was terrible. One of the worst finales I've seen. They could have done something nice and wholesome with the characters, but instead decided to make the whole thing a joke with self-referential humor and 4th-wall breaks. Not sure why Chuck Lorre went so meta with it.

To be fair, Jake got his first A in school and it looked like he was going to be an honor roll student. However, typical Evelyn take away his self esteem. Like she did with Charlie and Alan
Totally sucks now with Ashton Kutcher.
I stopped watching after Charlie was gone..
The show started to loose it's charm when Jake started becoming a teenage mudhead, Alan pettiness grew and Charlie's real carefree lifestyle started to catch up to him, which was clearly visible in his looks later in the show. After he left, there was no reason to watch it anymore.

it is not the same without Jake and Charlie
Very disappointing that the scene where Charlie breaks up with Isabella is cut short. That scene in its entirety is one of the best in the whole history of the show!

I spent 30 years in the Army, and the Army Recruiter depicted here is a joke! He would not be wearing his half ass beret indoors. On top of everything, I doubt Jake could pass the entrance exam nor the physical.
Writers changed; the whole show went downhill.
However, did the Army remove your sense of humor but left the stick?

This is just another way Hollywood shows its contempt for the military. It was bad enough they turned Jake into an absolute mo....n, they had to add insult to injury by making him join the army, the only institution that accept mo....ns, apparently.

Unfortunately, most sit-coms that feature child actors suffer when the children grow up. The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, Family Ties, and Married With Children, to name a few. At least 2 1/2 Men didn't try to bring in another child actor, & seemed to handle Angus' growing up fairly well, at least until Charlie left.

Ashton Kutcher wasn't bad in the filling in in the capacity he did but by no means did it in any way carry the show to the finish line. Quite frankly i knew it then as clear as we all see it now. He did his level best. To foot the bill. He was a professional but the chemistry wasn't anywhere near when charlie was in the lead role
