interesting series! but indeed the rating is ALWAYS tied to the elo e.g. im rated 727 rn (only plaing for 3 month) and played a fantastic game Sicilian Open vs 1600bot with 92% accuracy it gave me a rating of 1750. I removed the elos from the pgn and only entered the raw moves and it gave me a rating of 2500 !! Basically saying i played like a GM which iam obviously not. So in conclusion either the rating system is completely BS or it's precise but only for that particular game for example if your opponent is weak it allows you to play more accurate versus a much stronger opponent you start playing more inaccurate (blunders) more as time moves on - just a theory. But the Bot rating was mostly precise so yeah i think it's accurate in general

I did it first try: open a game, let him play 1 move, then resign. It’s a book move, so it gets counted as 100% accuracy.

I always play outside the website with bots and import my games to analyze and sometimes it gives me an Elo rating that is much higher than my actual rating, for example 2000 when I am only 900. However, when I analyze the same game again, it gives me a different rating, like 1650. It's possible that the website's rating is based on the rating of your account when you play, whereas imported games are not and that's why in my imported games the rating it gives me is not too accurate.

Yeah, it's definitely skewed pretty hard- I was trying to abuse it by letting it think the maximum bot was playing martin's moves, but I hadn't considered trying to import stuff with no ratings attached!

I wonder what happens if you open another tab and play both sides (your moves and Martin's) on an analysis board? By copying the moves to an analysis board you would remove the ratings from consideration. You could still do a game review tho

I think they need to change their evaluation function in several ways.
1. Absolutely don't cheat by looking at the player's real ELO lol.
2. Don't just look at the severity of bad moves and the opponent's skill level. The obviousness should be heavily considered. Good players are unlikely to play moves that blunder a piece in one move. They might make a move that's -6 or whatever, but it will be because it's -6 after 15 moves deep, not -6 immediately. Players who don't bother with capturing free material when it's clearly the best move, players who hang material for no reason, players who make egregious positional misplays, etc are likely to be low rated. Not players who blunder mate in 25 repeatedly from a winning position. That could be anyone.
