Duckweed is very famous here in the US but I started learning about azolla last week. We are planning to go back home sa Pinas in the next 5-10 years and I am arming myself with knowledge to take over the farm when we decided to stay sa Pinas permanently. Salamat and you earned my sub!!!

What is the difference between duckweed and Azolla feed
Different plants, but similar. Azolla tends to grow only in tropical and sub tropical areas, whereas duckweed grows on every continent but Antarctica.

It is edible but needs to be cooked otherwise the oxalic acid can cause kidney stones. It's not in all varieties of duckweed.

Why does it need to grow in at least 1 foot of water? There is no explanation and I can't imagine why.
the root system of azolla and duckweed is short. they need at least access to nutrients
