Ya I was Sync came out better but to be honest Ive gotten used to it by now. Its more important to me that my system still sounds good. I love this stereo still and I haven't had any problems at all so far. If there is anything else I can help with just let me know.

Great video. I have a 2014 Ford Fusion with Sync 2 and auto AC. I noticed their is a small ribbon cable on the factory board that can be disconnected. Will this affect the AC controls on the new unit? (This isn't mentioned in the tutorial videos I've watched).
That's a very good question...I'm not 100% sure about that, I haven't worked on of the older Fusions. I would suggest trying to contact the company your thinking of buying from and ask them. That way you will get the correct answer and not have problems later on when installing.

The CD will not work anymore after you install the new Tesla style screen. It gets moved back a bit with the new brackets and it needs to stay connected for the original radio to function correctly from what Ive been told.
Gerard.... I would like to compliment on a very informative video. I'm thinking of installing a similar setup on my 2017 mondeo/fusion here in Ireland. I have to 4" sync system with manual a/c controls.. A couple of questions regarding the functionality of the system.. 1. Does voice activation via steering wheel control work with the system? 2. Does it support dual zone climate control, i.e. front passenger side and driver side work independently of each other.. Also my model has the heated front windscreen.. does the system support this option too. Again great video.. thanks in advance Gerard....

Hello, I dont have heated seats but the control is there. Every feature and control you have on your stock head unit is also going to be on your new stereo. I haven't had any issues with controls such as radio, heating and cooling, voice commands etc. Ive had mine for awhile now and I still can stop looking at it every time I get in my car. One of the coolest upgrades Ive done. Lately Ive been using power amp which you can find on the app store. I really like all the cool features it offers. If I can help in any other ways just hit me up. Im glad my videos are helping others, that was my goal.

You can get firmware upgrade from FB...search for"Sergey Kozlov" hes the Admin of Tesla Style Firmware and HeadUnits. He make the the updates for these radios.
Know anybody that replaced their 4in version with this? Im kinda worried about losing my built in sync. Mostly because i cant tell if i have sync2 or myford but it shouldnt matter right ?
What i did instead of trying to jam all the harness ontop of the cd player was just took the circuit board out of the cd player and connect the wires and u have tons of room. Its way better than fucking around with that huge box

Your radio will still work. The display you see will transfer to the new Tesla style stereo and all the functions work. I dont have heated seats but the option to turn them on is displayed on the screen. Everything that your old radio did will work on the new one. Ill have to make another video showing more details on the functions now that Ive had it installed for quite some time now.
Yes I'm able to keep and use the stock mic. I havent seen any SYNC updates but if available then I would still get them. Your original radio gets imported into the new Tesla style radio and displays just as it did before.
Im not sure...try searching the web and if you cant find one then I would pick one of the sites you looked at and send them an email asking if they would know where to get one for your car.
Big help man i have a 2017 hybrid and wondered if i would lose all my car hybrid info ,usb and steering controls. But this helped. Hopefully i get mines sooner than 2 months. Have you tried using the video cables to install a camera , entertainment or game console. Did you hook your sub to the screen or tapped into the rear speakers?
All your steering wheel controls should be fine as long as you have sync 3. As for your hybrid info, if its displayed on your radio screen then you should be good since your OG radio is displayed on the new one. Im not sure what kind of camera you talking about, do you mean backup camera? If so mine comes with it already. I haven't had the need or interest to connect a game console but there shouldnt me any real issues since there are inputs for that on the new radio. My sub amp is a Kicker KX with signal detect so I was able to connect it up from the trunk.
I bought mine from Phoenix Automotive. You can search by car its the PX6. If your doing a basic internet search then you can try Tesla style radio, PX6, Android Tesla style stereo....
Hey, does your factory ambient lighting still work? After I installed mine, my ambient lighting will only come on when I enter the car and when I exit.
I seen another CZcamsr install his and it looked like he was able to retain his sync 2 system. If that's the case you should be able to keep ambient lighting. Trust me you bring up a good point and I'm curious now as I want this system. I'm considering adding the DTV tuner.

Im not sure about the Taurus. The new unit should be all plug and play pretty much. There shouldn't be any need to cut any wires. Try doing a search and see if you can find something on a Taurus install otherwise if I can help in anyway just let me know.

I alreasy got my 13.6 inch sreen from another company that is slightly cheaper and use dragonsnap . My queation, which launcher are you using ? I fidnt see anyone ask that question . Oh and if someone ask you bout sync one . There is a unti for sync 1 and the motherboard doesnt have to be moved. One comes installed already. Thats one good thing 😊
I m not sure, I dont have heated seats. You might have to pull up the original Sync screen for that option to work. Ill look into it also and see what I can come up with. That could be a new video I can make.
@@houstondrip9930 No, what you do is give your mileage to the seller and he programs it in. If you drive the car any before you receive and install the cluster then you will need to use Forscan to update the mileage. The best thing would be to not drive the car until after you install the cluster then its just install and go. When dealing with changing the cluster you gotta make sure your accurate on the mileage dont take any chances with inaccurate mileage,

Thank you for the complement. All of the original features have been working perfectly. I haven't had any problems with anything so far. I dont have heated seats but the control for that does show up on my screen and all the heating and air condition features work without any flaws. All voice commands work fine.
Hi, I've installed the 128GB version of that and now I have a couple of problems. -Rear sound boxes aren't working anymore, -the "Parkpilot" isn't working, - radio reception is really bad, - USB isn't working with the original ports. - voice command does not work. But I have to say that I only had to change the SYNC board and than to connect all. The power connector is coming from the CD player. This one I have get out because I needed more place for all wires and without any power it's useless. These are my experiences... Maybe it helps or you have any ideas what the problem for me is.

I was informed that my CD player had to stay installed and mind does still have 2 wire harnesses attached as you can see in my video. If you removed your completely that could be a part of the problem. I'm not sure why you voices controls aren't working. I would take a look at all my wire connections to make sure something hasn't come loose or you missed a connection and re install that CD player. Let me know how everything goes.

What do you mean did something stop working? The unit is super simple to install and yes it all is plug and play. My video shows you how I went about installing it and there are other videos out there as well. I bought mine from Phoenix Automotive phoenixautomotiveinc.com They come in from China and I think they are made to order. My wait time was over a month but if you search around you might find a company in the US that has one. Just make sure your getting the PX6 or newer if there is a newer version. I heard the older units had some issues.
Im not really sure because I dont have heated seats but I do know as you pointed out that going back into the original Sync screen would then allow you to use that feature.
have you double checked all your connections and fuses. Dont over look the simple things.. If you have no power at all then something may of come loose.
I have T Mobile cell service and added the hot spot that connects to my OBD2 port. Im forgot what Im paying but it wasn't bad I just added it to my cell bill. Works perfect no drops or anything.
You can do a search online and Im sure find a few places selling them. I bought mine from Phoenix Automotive. I think there made to order, and they do come from China so the wait time can be up to a month possibly a bit more. The best way I found to keep in touch with Phoenix Automotive was by email.
Ya you can watch movies when your driving, there is a setting for that. There is a USB cable that comes with the unit and you can upload your videos to the stereo.
The back up camera features work including back up sensors. My car doesn't have "my auto parking" so I cant say how that could be effected. When Installing this radio your basically replacing the radio/display so it shouldn't effect any other features the car has.
Hi, my sound went out last weekend while driving. I had a static sound then my speakers went out and my radio screen will not change the radio station. I've checked and changed the fuses just to be sure it wasn't that and still no sound. I unhooked the radio and checked the wires and didn't see anything behind that would cause a shortage. I'm still lost. Will I need to change the acm or can a new radio fix the problem
Did you try and do a hard re set on the radio? The should be a small home at the top left. Use a paper clip to lightly push the button in the hole. Do you have any other components connected like amps or EQ? ACM??? Do you mean the APIM? If you mean APIM I would say no you dont need to change that.
@@richd9771 I just pulled my 33 fuse out and pulled the battery cable off for a few minutes, the sound for the door chime came back on and soon as I put the 33 radio sound control fuse back in then the sound went back out. Really thinking about changing the radio out to another one but don't know what kind I want to change it to. And I wanna know if that would fix my problem before I do that
If you use a WiFi hotspot from your cell or a obd 2 hotspot from your cell service then you can use apps like Waze but other then that it does not add anything.

@@Lady_Tism Do you mean like have the car running or leave the battery connected? You can leave the batter connected just be aware of what your doing with wires. Its all plug and play so you shouldnt have any problems, of course the proper way to do things is to always disconnect the batter.
I cant say for other states but in California its only illegal to have full motion video playing that is in the drivers view. So we can have these in our cars but were not supposed to be playing videos and or movies that could cause the driver to be desecrated. You would need to check with the state to confirm there laws.

No SIM card spot. There is a cable to insert a USB thumb drive. I use the really small Samsung ones. You can up load your content that way or just leave it inserted so you dont take up space on the stereo.
Been a couple months now, you still liking it? I have a 2018 Fusion and am considering the upgrade cause I only have the baby 4” screen, but I’m unsure of all the options they offer.

@@ricardoseimandi5916 Hi, the unit will stay on so that when you get into your car itll boot up super fast. I had to go into the settings and change it because I did have a issue with low battery. The lowest setting is 8 hours and the default was 48. I havent had any problems since I switched it to 8 hours. I havent had any fuses blow at all and or any other problems. I love it and still cant stop looking at in every time I get into the car. If there is anything else I can help with just let me know.

When I had a question about my order I just sent emails and they replied usually within a day or 2.
Have you attached your APIM and made sure all the connections have been made and are connected tight? The same for the claimant Board? Check all your fuses and make sure nothing is blown then go over all connections and make sure there good. If you don't see anything wrong try connecting the unit to an external power source to confirm the unit does turn power up. If it does then you missed a connection or fuse.
I get it, I was the same way myself for a long time. I just got tired of having a bulky CD case and pulling out CDs as I was driving, oh and dont get a deep scratch on your favorite CD...that drove me crazy........But I get it....I was DJ for a long time and I still prefer my vinyl records over everything else.

The same as stock...sounds great. That was my concern with the 1st generation and couldnt get any real answers. Im running all stock in the cab and 2 subs in the trunk.
I understand its probably the SYNC board that's copyrighted to hell and back and they legally can't duplicate. But, its china they never gave a fuck before, why start now?

I have Sync 3 and it was retained. I still use it a lot. I dont know anyone that replaced Sync 2.
theres now a smartphone app to get youtube, webrowsing, and video playback for sync 3 radios

Bought it from a guy I met on Facebook. He sells them. I bought mine for $650 for mine and have to say it was well worth it.

The unit is super simple to install and yes it all is plug and play. My video shows you how I went about installing it and there are other videos out there as well.

They come in from China and I think they are made to order. My wait time was over a month but if you search around you might find a company in the US that has one. Just make sure your getting the PX6 or newer if there is a newer version. I heard the older units had some issues.

Not sure bout the I Phone, Im not an apple supporter so I cant say if it works well or not.
As for my Android I have no problems.

Sorry I just now seen your question. I bought my carbon pieces from ebay.
Did you lose your heated steering control, it doesn't show on mine unless i go into the sync page for the original a/c interface.
Im not really sure because I dont have heated seats but I do know as you pointed out that going back into the original Sync screen would then allow you to use that feature.

I just got this screen and did it on a 2018 Ford fusion hybrid but after all hooked up nothing happens. Screen does not turn on.
have you double checked all your connections and fuses. Dont over look the simple things..
If you have no power at all then something may of come loose.
Does it have the option to hook subs up to them or is it basically just another factory radio?
Sorry I just seen your question..yes there are RCA sub out connections on the wire harness that comes with the unit

How much does the hotspot run ya? is it like a prepaid hotspot ?
I have T Mobile cell service and added the hot spot that connects to my OBD2 port. Im forgot what Im paying but it wasn't bad I just added it to my cell bill.
Works perfect no drops or anything.

I think there made to order, and they do come from China so the wait time can be up to a month possibly a bit more.

Ya you can watch movies when your driving, there is a setting for that.
There is a USB cable that comes with the unit and you can upload your videos to the stereo.
Will it run the Uber driver app to your knowledge?
Does it support the rear parking sensors and my auto parking ?
The back up camera features work including back up sensors. My car doesn't have "my auto parking" so I cant say how that could be effected.
When Installing this radio your basically replacing the radio/display so it shouldn't effect any other features the car has.

Hi, my sound went out last weekend while driving. I had a static sound then my speakers went out and my radio screen will not change the radio station. I've checked and changed the fuses just to be sure it wasn't that and still no sound. I unhooked the radio and checked the wires and didn't see anything behind that would cause a shortage. I'm still lost. Will I need to change the acm or can a new radio fix the problem
Did you try and do a hard re set on the radio? The should be a small home at the top left. Use a paper clip to lightly push the button in the hole.
Do you have any other components connected like amps or EQ?
ACM??? Do you mean the APIM? If you mean APIM I would say no you dont need to change that.
@@richd9771 I just pulled my 33 fuse out and pulled the battery cable off for a few minutes, the sound for the door chime came back on and soon as I put the 33 radio sound control fuse back in then the sound went back out. Really thinking about changing the radio out to another one but don't know what kind I want to change it to. And I wanna know if that would fix my problem before I do that

It looks like your APIM module is failing.
I had the same issue and had to replace my ACM (Audio Control Module). Once I replaced the ACM, the sound returned.
would this add GPS to the car if it previously didn't have it?
If you use a WiFi hotspot from your cell or a obd 2 hotspot from your cell service then you can use apps like Waze but other then that it does not add anything.
So if I replace my factory stereo with thus will it be louder than the factory stereo

You can leave the batter connected just be aware of what your doing with wires. Its all plug and play so you shouldnt have any problems, of course the proper way to do things is to always disconnect the batter.

is it illegal to install these in your car in new york? not sure if it differs from state to state
I cant say for other states but in California its only illegal to have full motion video playing that is in the drivers view. So we can have these in our cars but were not supposed to be playing videos and or movies that could cause the driver to be desecrated.
You would need to check with the state to confirm there laws.

Nope the 2 USB ports work fine with the console selection which is the original radio display.

No SIM card spot. There is a cable to insert a USB thumb drive. I use the really small Samsung ones. You can up load your content that way or just leave it inserted so you dont take up space on the stereo.

Been a couple months now, you still liking it? I have a 2018 Fusion and am considering the upgrade cause I only have the baby 4” screen, but I’m unsure of all the options they offer.
I love it...A few tiny glitches but nothing major..I cant see going back to the original stereo.

@@ricardoseimandi5916 Hi, the unit will stay on so that when you get into your car itll boot up super fast. I had to go into the settings and change it because I did have a issue with low battery. The lowest setting is 8 hours and the default was 48.
I havent had any problems since I switched it to 8 hours.
I havent had any fuses blow at all and or any other problems. I love it and still cant stop looking at in every time I get into the car.

If you have factory Nav then yes it does. All the functions of your OG radio work.

Can't seem to get unit to power on. I have sync 2.
Have you attached your APIM and made sure all the connections have been made and are connected tight? The same for the claimant Board?
Check all your fuses and make sure nothing is blown then go over all connections and make sure there good.
If you don't see anything wrong try connecting the unit to an external power source to confirm the unit does turn power up. If it does then you missed a connection or fuse.

I just got tired of having a bulky CD case and pulling out CDs as I was driving, oh and dont get a deep scratch on your favorite CD...that drove me crazy........But I get it....I was DJ for a long time and I still prefer my vinyl records over everything else.

How's the sound quality
The same as stock...sounds great. That was my concern with the 1st generation and couldnt get any real answers.
Im running all stock in the cab and 2 subs in the trunk.
I mean for 550 buck this thing should have its own circuit board...
I understand its probably the SYNC board that's copyrighted to hell and back and they legally can't duplicate. But, its china they never gave a fuck before, why start now?
My sync 3 works just fine. The screen display pops up just like it was before I installed the new unit.
