- Who are the Wolf Witchers? Where are the Wolf Witchers from? In today´s video we´ll be looking at what is likely the most famous Witcher class, ones who have been renowned as hunters for many hundreds of year. We´ll be looking into their story, their characteristics and theories.
These animated videos are inspired by the cinematic videos from the Witcher 2 and Darkest Dungeon, both in style and narrative. These videos take a lot of time and effort to create and are all drawn from scratch by myself. Given that there's only 3 Schools that are confirmed to be still in existence and operation, I doubt it.
These being the Bear School, the Crane School and the Manticore School.

All this rise & fall of Witcher schools kinda make me firmly believe circumstances of the continent after Witcher 3 has changed massively & it would be the revival of Witcher schools in the next Witcher game as it was pretty clear a conjunctions actually happened & opened up so many portals across the world.
It could be or they might go back to before the schools fell and do a game around their origins.
@@OKAYGUVBear Funny you should mention that. There's a prequel series in development that will detail the very first Witchers and their original order. It's set around 1,200 years before Geralt was born.
Honestly? Geralt and the squad actually would prefer for the Witchers to die out as the whole process of creating one is to much for any child to handle.

I’m so happy that u included “the Betrayal” story. Even thought it’s not officially canon, it was written by Andrzej Sapkowski and so I count it as official lore.
You can also argue the confrontation from Season of Storms, between Brehen (Cat school Witcher) and Geralt is a wink from Andrzej, which basically means that he might make The Betrayal part of the official lore.Vesemir mentions he is hunting Brehen as an enemy of the Wolf School, so who knows?
As far as I know, it wasn't really written by Sapkowski, he just gave the basic idea and the others responsible did everything else, so much so that it's filled with nonsense and inconsistencies (the comic that follows this story is quite bad overall, as are all of those older The Witcher comics). I really think it shouldn't have been included in this video, as it gives the wrong idea to new people about it being a notable and very present part of the lore and it also isn't on an acceptable quality level to integrate both the main canon or the games' canon, at least not how it's presented in the comic, and even though it could be that Sapkowski integrated some of it in Season of Storms, if he did, it was precisely just the very few general things that he outlined back in the day for the comic authors to use as a basis, and is ultimately left for you to piece it together, with other possible interpretations that don't need to consider it as being the case... Pretty shaky stuff, at the end of the day. It could be rewritten by Sapkowski to properly integrate the canon or by CDPR to integrate the games' canon, but it hasn't yet.

Yes, and perhaps have different outcomes depending on the School you choose, which would make the NG+ even more interesting because you would play a different story every time!

I hope Witcher 4 is a story about the golden age of Witchers. An idea would be maybe the life of Vesemirs master in his young ages.

Personally I think its posible to recreate the witcher order. As shown due to the different schools, the formulae to create witchers can be altered and upgraded to produce different effects. Geralt noted that spotted whites were already hunted into extinction and if my memory serves it is one of the core ingredients to make the trial of the grasses. Still it is noted that mages constantly open up portals to bring put monsters and creatures, so it could be a way to obtain materials. Also yennefer both uncovered secrets from the trial of the grasses and research from the scientist in toussant. Lastly, another conjunctions can happen as well, though factions have been made like the witch hunters, they still lack the extensive knowledge to rival witchers.
Technically speaking they could come up with thousands of reasons as to why the witchers are brought back or rebuilt. The real question I think is whether another witcher game will be set after the events of Wild Hunt or long before.

I just figured out that the witcher Coen being the youngest witcher(younger than lambert) would probably be from the Griffin school since vesemir would never let a cat school in Kaer morhen(since the whole betrayal and Rens death).So if Coen is from the Griffin school that would mean that The Griffin School is still active and if not it has been only destroyed very recently but they are probably still functioning.
He's not from the griffin school, that school deosnt even exist in the books. He's from the wolf school. They meant it was his first time wintering there since he first left on the path( most witchers dont ever return once they leave). The evidence is that Geralt and the others already know him as if they've known him for a long time.
@@jasonzaragoza9413 The Griffin school does exist in the books.We know that because vesemir mentions it and Leo bonhart has one of the medallions of the school.
Flavio i don’t remember Vesimir ever mentioning it, though I do remember the medallion from Bonhart. But most readers put too much stock into Bonhart...even Yeneffer doubts he killed any Witchers and said those medallions were fake and bought from some merchant. But as to Coen, it wouldn’t make sense considering it’s stated it was his first time wintering at Kaer Morhen, yet all the Witchers there already know him, and they speak about him as if he’s one of their own. How would they already know him if he’s from another school and it’s his first time wintering there?
Then I guess Coen is probably from the wolf school as vesemir would not allow cat school witchers in the keep and I am not to sure that Leo could kill a experienced witcher.
Flavio also the griffin school location is a creation of CDPR not sapkowski, I don’t recall any other Witcher schools location appearing in the books. I agree on the Leo part, I mean he lost to Ciri. She’s a great fighter, but even Coen tells her that she’ll never be as fast or even as good as a Witcher.
These vids make me feel like playing The Witcher 3 again. I regret deleting it to gain more space to download Call of Duty. 😭

They likely would have been more respected but I think witchers generally prefer keeping low profiles.

The Wolf school is extra sad because they really embody what Witchers are supposed to be. Rangers, monster hunters, protectors. Power of all kinds is jealously horded in their world.

I wonder how many Witchers there were at the gathering between Cat and Wolf. It’s a shame that if that conflict never erupted we could have seen more Witchers in 1,2 & 3

What I don't understand is that witchers can slay all kinds of creatures but struggle with peasants and normal soldiers
fighting multiple people at once and defending against multiple attacks from all angles is probably harder than fighting one single creature.

imo the Wolfs getting ALL killed almost by hill billy villagers is a big plot hole; like how is that possible 1 Witcher should be able to take out like 20 hill billies
I think it´s a case of being overwhelmed and surprised. It´s likely that the crowds would have been in the thousands and there´s also the fact that many witchers were away on the road hunting.
When there is like 50 vs 1, no amount of sword skill can help.
I haven't read any of the books and am playing through the games now but it seems more like the School of the Wolf would of let the rabid towns people kill them as a final show of their true nature. They don't seem like the type of school to slaughter humans after spending so long protecting and earning their trust.
It's very possible too, most of the lore or theories I'm taking from are strictly from the game since they can sometimes conflict with each other.
not really correct, the wolf school witchers slaughtered a ton of the peasants that invaded the castle. They were simply overwhelmed, and the peasants were accompanied by mages.

I love this series but it is difficult for me to understand English orally. Are automatic subtitles accurate? Could you enable people to translate in different languages?
