If the original backstory from the first MK timeline for the Netherrealm was kept, it could be THE same Hell. When Shinnok was banished in the first timeline, he went to the Netherrealm and overthrew Lucifer, who was King of Hell, and became King himself
I just love how classic spawn looks like a cosplayer costume while the 'current' spawn costume is more organic looking.
