  • Video 27a Additional brake light modification using the rear fog lights.
    Short video explaining how I converted my rear fogs lights into additional brake lights but still retained the fog light function.
    Very clever modification thanks to Richard Astley.

    Late to this party but just did this mod. Really simple and a big improvement.

      @mcox4700, excellent but you are never too late for this party., PS have you tried the same idea to create DRL's using the front fogs? regards Damian

      Dave, really makes the back end light up when you press the brake pedal. Get some use out of those fog light bulbs. Thanks for compliment and support regards Damian👍

    I did this mod to my ‘92 XJ40 about 15 years ago but I had to open the BFM’s to bridge the relays.

    Hi
    That looks good.
    My car has the later light cluster, where tge have a silver strip on the outer edge. Would the wiring be the same?
    Thanks

      Viraf, I believe you should be Ok. If you take a look at Richard Astleys original video he has the later light cluster and uses the same mod. czcams.com/video/OKjDx1ohn7M/video.html, thanks for the comment, Damian

    IMO this diode mod is more easily done inside the light fixtures themselves.

      Gary, easier than pulling relays and refitting with a wire ? Like to understand your idea. thanks for the comment Damian

    Did you find a way of fitting brake leds without the canbus error. I'm still trying, but don't want to fit resistors.

      @ODRModurol  Před 3 lety

      John, nothing come up at the moment. Most bulbs require resistors even those that say they are canbus compatible. If you find anything that works out of the box, please let us know. Thanks for the comment regards Damian
