How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a CZcams channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.
Good seeing Hannah involved with making hay.
Great overhead shots, as always. Hannah is driving that tractor and baler like a boss.
Great to see Hannah makin' the hay!
Good to see husband and wife working together on the farm!! Stay safe always!!
That new bail wrapper makes short work of keeping the hay protected. Great job Hannah!!
Another great video Ryan. Good to see Hannah getting involved.
Hannah was doing some serious concentrating on what she was doing. 👍👍👍Very cool!
Must be my years as a cyclist, but there is something very satisfying about seeing a dry chain getting nicely lubricated!
Great to see Hannah again glad to see her bailing some hay
Hi Ryan, Thanks for your videos. I grew up on a dairy farm in Canton, New York up north near the Canadian border. I went in the USNAVY at age 18 but my youngest brother and his wife and daughter still live on the farm.
Formerly BT1 Paul Richardson USNAVY 1968-1978
Hey Ryan! Feed is feed. You’ll master it eventually. You care, and that will take you far. Congrats on the wedding! Always great content, and straight to the point. All American farmer! Love it!!! Keep them coming!
Thanks!
@@HowFarmsWork why did you go with a round baler instead of a square
That bale wrapping just looks like a good time. :)
Hannah's the best!!! You are very blessed....both of you...
Hanna may be the best intern decision a farmer ever made!!! ;-)
Hannah did a great job👍 the wrapper is a handy machine when you have bales like this😉👍 nice video👍👍
I for one like when you and Hanna work togeather. It shows really how a farm works as a team! And hopefully teach other families work together.
The way she calls him mean. Lol not first time I think
Nice too see Hannah back in a video again!
Howdy ya'll,
Nice lookin bales, we were out raking and baling today as well, all went good, no brake downs, just smooth sailing, our other crew was chopping barely silage, all around a Great day !!
Stay safe, Stay Calm and Farm on my Friends, Peace
ryan i am not a farmer but i loved going to my grandads farm as a kid and helping with haying and driving the tractor that pulled the waggon. you videos even tough shot in america remind me of those times. life sure was simpler then.
Ryan your video production skills make watching a pleasure!
You will enjoy having that wrapper. We wrapped all of our hay.
Glad to see you're getting the hay you need. Let's pray for rain for the farmers out west to help them through these hard times
Great job Hannah , Ryan and Dwight, it was wilted just right, that will make for some tasty feed come winter👌👍😎
Awesome to see y’all family working together stay safe
Finally getting to see Hannah!!!
Hey Ryan
Hannah you both are lucky to be with each other congratulations on your wedding.
I just started watching your videos today, not a farmer but have always wished to own my own land. Will never happen so I’m doing it through you guys. Great videos love to see it! Keep up the great work.

Good video Ryan and Hanna great seeing you working together
I remember for years we use to use used motor oil for all of ours chains filled up a empty container of plochman’s mustard 😄 Hannah did a good job 👍🏾
Good job, it’s nice to have another hand on the farm!
It's nice to learn a little more about the decisions Farmers and Ranchers use when putting up hay. Thanks Ryan.
Nice video- now you have Hanna to help bale you out!
A little trick I do for putting end bags on is shoving it through the net wrap and taping it off.
Keep balin'! It's always fun to see hay made!
Enjoyed the video Ryan , Hannah .
What a game changer the wrapper is.
Hello from Bogalusa Louisiana! Enjoy your videos. Keep on keeping on…
well that was very entertaining and most importantly you do a great job of making the farming tasks easier to watch and be inspired more and more every time I watch all the positive farmers like you , the welker farms family and many more and yes I am glad to say I made it to the end.
Another great video Ryan and It's always a pleasure to see Hannah out there with you working. Love the videos and keep doing the amazing work you do. God bless you and your family!!

best video of any one and great to see Hannah learning...I learned alot myself
I was up in your neck of the woods a few weeks ago making a delivery to Cassville. That part of Wisconsin is absolutely beautiful.
The wrapper will be a game changer moving forward
Farm on, Ryan and Hannah!
Good to see Hannah helping. She will be out there directing you before long.
Good job Ryan any good husband always tells there wife that they did something “perfect”! Nice to see that you’re getting plenty of hay for the year.
Love the drone scenery and the smell of fresh cut hay.
Another awesome video…Great seeing you and Hannah working together. You make a great team. Blessings!
Hi Ryan. Aussie contractor again. I used 200 micron builders plastic for end caps. Cut to size you want put on bale(lay on flat on ground)and use baler twine around bale to hold it on. Tighten twine then pull plastic down tight. Makes very cheap end cap that’s tight and doesn’t balloon out during curing
Excellent video Ryan with great overhead shots. Hi from Victoria, Australia.
Great video as always. Let’s see more drone shots and some brush hogging.
Hannah is a natural!
Good job, Hannah! Youall are gonna make a happy couple for life. God bless you both.
Great camera work as usual. Nice to see the Mrs keeping you company. The 82 and new baler are a good looking pair
Great to see Hannah working with you. That bale wrapper has really been handy for you.
Always love when Hannah shows up
Nice to see hannah. I used to remeber the farmer harvesting hay it smelled so good. And they had a square bailer and then a round baler. His son still farms!
I sure enjoy watching you two work together. Does my heart good.
Team Hannah - Get her done! Great Vlog.
Nice video isn't it funny how the weather changes in a blink of an eye 👀👁️👁️. 👍💪💪😎

Just bought 6 acres of the family farm and hope to be haying my self this time next year on my own place.

I enjoy the drone shots. Keep up the good videos
Thanks for another great video Ryan! Great to see Hannah again:)
Great job running the camera Hannah!
Great videos! Always look forward to the next one! Thank you.
I really enjoy your videos teaching Hannah how to bale.
It has been hot and dry here in Michigan but I've still been struggling with making dry hay all season.
The WD40 dry lube...i am going to try it.
Great teaching, patient and kind with the suggestions and great job driving and getting all the details correct. Fun video shots.....thanks for sharing.
Makes me jealous seeing you guys making hay over there. Still a few months yet til we can start over here in aus. Great vid, thanks for sharing Ryan and Hannah.

I thought you had a tedder, I was wondering, always tough to make those decisions when you're facing uncertain forecasts, looks like you have a good supply laid up for winter, Hannah did a great job!, thanks for sharing

It was another great video I really enjoy watching your videos with the round baler because we are currently looking at one ourselves thank you for all the information and sharing your guy's life with us
Good to see Hannah getting involved.
Another great video Ryan. Looked like Hannah picked up the bailing pretty quick. I can remember years ago learning to bail with an “old” John Deere twine bailer. So I could relate to her pain, lol!
Loving the videos informative and relaxing
Looks like good hay, Miss them days of making it !
Love watching all your vids and looking forward to more!!!!!!
Hannah did great job makn' the hay 👍
Great Video, thanks Hannah and Ryan,
Making hay while the weather holds. Always a good plan v
Great video…the kids loved it!
Great job! Really enjoyed the show!
Those are some nice drone shots good work 👍
WD40 makes a roller chain lube. That would probably be a better choice for your baler application.
We run John Deere round balers, seems like they act up on the hottest day of the season. Nice to see the new bride learning how to help out. 👍
Love watching yr videos! Always very entertaining!
