We really need climbers try this challenge. Anton, call Magnus!
I know how that would go. Magnus: "I don't think I did very good". Anton: "Magnus, you did 9 minutes".
@@JonniP1 LOL! this definitely tracks
No, you need Pete Whitakker.
"Can I use chalk?"
No! They don't have chalk in prison
Honestly i think this is a good climbing exercise, just rows but pause at the top for time/reps. In many ways it makes more sense than pullups, entire posterior chain (so also the legs) active at once is a big win. Much more like actual overhang climbing.
"WHO 'S GONNA CARRY THE BOATS" had me dying
"THEY DON'T KNOW ME, SON!"
“WHO IS GONNA CARRY THE LOGS”
Would love to see magnus or pete whittaker try this
I came to the comments to suggest Pete! Feel like he might get the closest out of anyone.
@@jdpatterson1104for sure, that pain tolerance / muscular endurance is out of this world!
Meatboy would go 5 minutes and he would escape from jail and be back in during the same ride :)
Pete would find a jam under any truck ;). And he actually might pull it iff
Pete could hang for at least 6 minutes. Magnus might also with just his grip.
WHOS GONNA CARRY THE BOATS
THE LOOOOGS
@@sergeishtam8872 You GONNA DO IT
THEY DON'T KNOW ME SON!
Doing a static hold for over a minute and an interview at the same time? Yeah she’s a fuckin beast
lol right i was thinking it was kinda funny for anton to be interviewing her but she didn't even seem phased by it.
Anton, I think wonderwoman lost a minute or so because she was being interviewed 🤣 I think a retest is in order- after you have all trained it a bit more! I would love to see a mini series on this prison escape challenge! Thanks for the awesome content as always 💪
You are welcome!💪🔥
Precisely
@@AntonFomenko I think getting a really long hold is possible, but you'd need to train harder skills like the bent arm front lever
In the movie his legs rested on the bed side significantly lower than his arms. I think using the ladder made it much more difficult
Good point!
swear the legs were in the air not resting at all in the movie.
From his position under the bed with his hips and head higher than shoulders, he's definitely pushing upward with his feets.
@borRIING look at the thumbnail or the clip in the video. His heels are on the bed part.
and gravity being higher up
The true eacape team of yt, Anton and he lockpickinglawyer. No prison is safe from that combo
Temperature is also a factor under the vehicle as that is where the exhaust pipe travels.
Nice! Good call!
In the movie, he is gripping the bed wide on the outside by the frame not the inside by the rung, this would also make it easier, but also if you are talking purely about survival, I think what WW did at the end is legit, just cling and extend your time.
I Love how you keep these coming! It's so interesting to see these movie stunts done in real life! 4 minutes is insane though!
Bro. Your upload consistency lately. Sheesh. 🎉🎉🎉 Way to go. Always refreshing to see your videos in the feed!
I appreciate that!🔥
I love these movies stunts
WHO'S GONNA CARRY THE BOAT lmao
Anton's committment and willpower is inspiring.
5:54 I knew I knew this guy from somewhere...he played Pennywise!!! Awesome!!
Most people scroll Netflix to find what movie to watch where as Anton scrolls nextflix for his next video idea 😂
❤ u Anton. "Weee!"
Yep!😂😂😂
Anton good challenge, very enjoyable viewing and Jessie was a great addition ,i reckon Chris Heria or Magnus Midtbø would have a chance of getting close to the time needed to escape.
Best way of escaping prison
Is by never getting yourself locked in one.
Insane strength test
Magnus could do it for sure! He probably sleeps like that every night!
She looks out of this world, so much respect !
"who's gonna carry the boats!?" lmfao!
Anton's mental is crazy. What a beast!
Loved the challenge and seeing the whole crew together with Jessie!
Thank You so much 💪🔥
These guys are like in the back of a home depot?
That's why you never underestimate Anton Fomenko
5:10 I didn't watch the show, but he could have just written down his PRs. That would still be too big leaps, but a bit more realistic
Let the Magnus Midtbø guessing begin!
I suspect he can do 3m16s!
Exactly how a prisoner Escaped from Wandsworth Prison today Dressed in Chef overalls under a Delivery Van😂
Thank you! I didn’t even know how much I had forgotten!
This reminds me of other TV and movie stunts you have shown. You'd have to train for quite a while to specifically pull this off. Given that you were all around two minuets for a first time, I don't think this is out of the real of possibilities. Also, you guys are doing this for fun and entertainment, whereas the character would be highly motivated to pull this off.
Exactly. If Anton was in prison for 6 months, you bet he'll be able to do15 minutes!
Adrenaline has given little kids strength to deadlift furniture 4x their BW, I've seen a video of a teen deadlifting the back of a truck to save his dad, a woman wrestled a bear and won. It is estimated that outside of "hysterical strenght" (survival mechanism/adrenaline rush), we can only access 60% of the muscle contraction we can optimally produce, with some elite athletes probably shying before 80%. Even not accounting for further motivation (like resistance to pain and mental fortitude in this case), those 60% would put Anton at about 200 seconds just right off the get go.
Pain and fatigue are ways for your brain to protect you from dying or severely injuring yourself; if something else is a higher threat, your brain just shuts those off. You generally feel like you have to give up when you are bordering injury, not when your muscles have actually been exhausted.
Back in the 60s there was a series of studies where they fired a starting pistol near participants, yelled or grunted at them and also hyponotise them, and their strenght went up by 10, 15 and 30%, respectively, and that's not actually in a life or death scenario.
Motivation can send this even further!
@@sorayaimperial the adrenaline response improves muscle twitch but does not increase isometric strength, so it would not provide physiological benefit in a situation like this, besides maybe the increased blood flow to the muscles (which might even have a negative effect by causing you to pump out earlier). It could help out psychologically perhaps, and with pain tolerance, but it is important to remember that adrenaline is not magic and we are still limited by our physiology. That being said, I still think it would definitely be possible for someone to complete this challenge with training, but everyone in this video likely would have died in the real-life version of this scenario, adrenaline rush or not.
Thank you for such a wonderful video, just what I needed to see today! Yay!! ❤ from Canada
You are so welcome!💪🔥
Wow I didnt expect anton to hit 2min+. He's a pretty big guy, bigger than the rest of them for sure
i wonder if the ladder being narrower than the bed makes much of a difference? hmmm
who else laughed at the david goggins impression
💪😅
Pls, Anton, send this challenge to Magnus!!! 🙏🙏🙏😅 Id love to see him doing this too!!!
Let's compare it to the plank. Average Joe can last up to 3 minutes, and a really good athlete maybe 15min (idk really), world record is 9 hours, 38 minutes and 47 seconds. So there are some freaks of nature who can train certain exercise to the god-like level. If you have enough time, dedication and motivation, it is possible. I would like to see rock climbers try it.
Average joe can barely do 30 seconds of a regular plank
@@omincat2703 When you do it for the first time, sure, but you can still make it over 2 minutes with little bit of trainig, without being considered athletic.. that's what I ment.
Psychologist before the session: take a comfortable position.
Me: 10:10
You don't warm up for something like this, that's like warming up for a plank lol
None of them did the hold as demonstrated in the movie... Back needs to be flat as a board and abs pushed into the ladder. It's almost entirely an upper back exercise with emphasis on the rear delts
English speaker: "Vehicle"
Anton: "Whihikel"
This tasks calls for Magnus Meatball!
2 ez for Meatboy
I'm actually curious as to whether Magnus Midtbo can pull this trick
weehicle
What if you would cross your arms so you dont have to bend them? Grab left side of ladder with right arm and vice versa.
That’s actually very cool idea 🤔
i've managed to do it only for 54 seconds... But in perfect form: "nose-touching" distance, like in the movie. Height:184 cm, weight: 70 kg
Nice!🔥💪
Jimmy Chin could do that shit for 2 hours straight with one hand tied behind his back.
Would be interesting to see the improvement of the same participants after a month of strict training.
Results will be better for sure. 💪
Smooth finish Anton XD
AND THE LOGS !
Maybe you could test the vehicle element by building your rig with padding _inside_ the back of a van
There's a few people who should send this video to their HR department 😂iykyk
I think someone working this specifically for a year they probably could. In his note book that could also be him only recording his pr not his every workout. That would still be a crazy progression but if he gets those maybe once or twice a month it’s a lot more reasonable than every workout.
not true. It depends on weight and body size. This excercise would favors someone with short arms i mean short in general and with almost no mass on lower body
@@sratnatozmrde nothing you said counters what I said you just added factors that would make it more easy. I just said I think someone working at it for a year could plausibly achieve it. Obviously their body type and base fitness matters a lot but in terms of whether or not this is humanly possible in a year I think it is.
Omg Jesse Graff!!!
It seems like part of the difficulty might have come from using a narrow object like a ladder instead of a wide object like a bunk bed. In the movie it looks like he's got his arms out wide and he's using his shoulders and upper back, whereas you guys had your arms in by your side and were having to use basically just your triceps (edit: meant to say biceps). Might make it easier to do it on a bunk bed where you're relying on a much bigger muscle group.
Id argue it's easier to do if narrow. The job of your back muscles is to pull your shoulders back and in turn push the rest of your body forward, and that's much easier to do with a shorter lever because so much less torque is required.
Another thing to consider is that the character in the show seems to have his feet rested below the hands at about body level which could also relieve some pressure from the hands.
I'm assuming you meant biceps and not triceps :)
This works your biceps not your triceps
If you start to extend and lower your body it's actually over because under the car you will hit the ground and thats a fail. So you need to hold tight the whole time
Ok, he said chemistry. So can you actually equate what it takes to do this type of hold? Like weight, muscle mass, etc.
...good thing they have that wooden block to break their fall.
Mr Anton, what is the brand/model of that "directors" chair?
you have the best content fr 😁
Appreciate you 💪😎🔥
So here is a part you did not consider. FEAR! The fear of getting caught trying to escape. Your muscles are a big part, but your mind is a bigger part. Without the correct mind set it does become harder. 230 seconds is almost 4 minutes. and Yes he was lying on the exhaust that is why he shielded himself with the tag bed.
Challenge for Wonder Woman: escape the prison chatting with bus driver.
something to take into account, if the truck stops at a gate or something you could probably rest for a tiny bit
That's probably when they would do sweeps though.
nice but that ladder has a close hold , bed frame is wider , also it seem that his legs is not supported in the shot
Smooth line on wonder woman
She's gorgeous !
💪😊
someone who can do a Front Lever Touch hold would be good at this
Seems like bunk bed guy had a wider grip. Idk if that would make it easier or harder, but it was wider than a ladder.
Jessie gets a minute thirty while having a conversation and laughing and close to the end reveals she is now training in mountain climbing. Good girl !
I think a professional climber would laugh at this challenge
so much consistent work, have a coffee on me!
Appreciate you 💪😎🔥
Anton stop hitting on the nice lady.
Since when being nice is hitting? 😅
will go do it now
Wikickle. 😂
actor's legs were lower than his hands though, that might make it easier
Hehe she´s just having a casual conversation. I bet she wouldve beat you all if she saved her breath
Yep! 😅
@@AntonFomenko thats why you try to distract her huh :P
On the list of progress what are the assumptions. Would 5-15sec be an unrealistic amount of progress even if he only writes down every time he does make progress? What if he doesn’t count the times he makes any progress below 5sec over his last score?
i maxed out from 30 push-ups to 50+ my only time in prison for 6 weeks. with more time i probably could do more. now being out for almost a decade probably could only do 20-25 max. so i think its still possible to achieve.
Alex Megos, Janja Garnbret - test down)
Magnus needs to try it
Nice work you all 👍👏
Thank you 🙌
I don't think the test setup was the same in the in the video it looked like he had his feet below his arms on a bar which probably would allow him to take a good bit of weight off his arms.
what is the name of the movie?
This literally happened in London this week
Try it again with one of those bench press slingshots, that supports your upper back and arms.
I guess the heated exhaust pipe above your balls would make your experience even more exciting 😂😂😂
Probably😂
The funny thing is, as a native English speaker (American), I can't say "vehicle" either. The H trips me up. I say "vericle." There are VERY FEW words I struggle with, personally... but that one is one I don't think I'd ever be able to learn how to say correctly, for some reason.
In the film he doesnt even have his feet rested on anything 💀🤣
The thing about static is that Mike Mentzer made it a really big part of his workout routine. He thinks that negative and, especially, static reps are the best for strength and hypertrophy
They dont know me son
Maybe he was writing only PB once every month on his list
Isometric static hold sounds like good armwresling excercise.
I'm kind of curious how I'd do since I'm not heavy and decently strong for my weight.
Do I get a prize if I get it to 4 min? :P
Also the vehicle wouldn’t be still. It would be jumping up and down, making it even more difficult to hold on.
