"The Dance of Eternity", "The Enemy Inside", "The Count of Tuscany", "Illumination Theory", "The Ministry of Lost Souls", At Wits End, Space Dye Vest and so much more. • @someonelikeyou2553
    @someonelikeyou2553 Před 4 lety +4

    Loved the reaction! Thank you! I say that for the next big Dream Theater thing, you should try out a song called "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence". It's split into 8 parts and is 42 minutes long. Don't get confused about the name. The album it comes from is named the same way.
    The song starts with an instrumental part showing off riffs of the future parts in the whole thing. The song itself speaks about mental disorders people have to struggle with like Autism, Schizophrenia, PTSD, Bipolar disorder, even depression and death.
    That song is my most favourite of all in Dream Theater history and I actually cried at some parts. The riffs are insane and I call it the "progressive masterpiece" of it's time. Parts can be listened to separately because each one works as a small song but it's totally worth listening it all the way when they connect together!! It is quite long but like you said before. Time flies while listening to these songs and we don't even notice it haha
    Keep on reacting! Hope to see more from ya! Cheers!

    Now that you’ve completed the 12-step suite, I think it’d be more than fitting to visit The Mirror from their ‘94 album Awake, which in a way is a prelude to the suite because it details Portnoy’s struggle with alcoholism before he went into rehab. Or you could try out The Enemy Inside off their self titled album with their current drummer Mike Mangini to get a feel of how he works with Dream Theater

      I really like DT but that comment is ridiculous 🙄. Far many better bands out there. They rinse and repeat lots of their music. They haven't evolved too much in my opinion. I mean songs on Images and Words sound like more recent songs. I can name 3 bands far superior to DT. King Crimson, Pink Floyd and Radiohead all evolved their sound. I could name even more bands. The prog rock band Yes could play them under the table.

    If you’re trying to “subscriber grind,” their biggest single is ‘Pull Me Under.’
    A lot of people might have been exposed to ‘Panic Attack,’ because it was on one of the Rock Band games.
    A more modern “radio single” by them is ‘As I Am.’

    This should not be a finale to the dream theater reactions. You are missing out so much from their discography

    the vocal effect starting around 11:00 was super distracting and kinda made that serious moment sound goofy. thats one thing that drew me away from dream theater was the weird effects they'd put on James vocals. among other things. the track was alright though. seemed more like a cliff notes of all the previous songs than an ending

      Pretty sure that isn’t James. I’m fairly certain it’s Mike, or a guest. Everyones different though. I personally love the transition to the sound of those vocals.
