I always thought Hawkins proof if you will against t.t to the past that hordes of time tourists would show up , is lame. I guess he hadn’t heard of Time Cop.

First off, you have to prove that the past still exists. I have a theory, that if you send someone to space at near the speed of light, time slows significantly for them, and they age much slower. Technically they are still within our frame of Time but yet moving into the future as his point of origin will be in the future upon his return. But while he is in transit, both still exist...for him we are his past but we still exist. Therefore the past still exists so it could be possible. The second thing, as pointed out by HulkBanner in Avengers Endgame, time travel to the past doesnt work the way everyone imagines. Time for each of us is relative to each of us, where traveling to the past, the present from which we came, is no longer our future, as the future we just came from is now in our own personal past and is no longer our future as a viable future to return too, but a different future altogether.

Doesn’t theory B postulate this very thing. And is it not the de rigor theory here, above theory A, presentism. The latter cannot have t.t. It would be a replica, or duplicate More along the lines of a Christmas Carol- a mere shadow of the way things were. Not Bk to the Furture

Super short answer…yes. I’ve been back in 1992 for the past 4 months. And I was in the ‘hipster’ time traveller photo in British Columbia in 1941. Well I wasn’t, then I was, but I am now. I’m the second person on his right, with a girl behind me with her head on an angle. Fun eh?

How would that work? If you stayed in the past long enough, up the timeline you would be in the photo but, perhaps, when you came bk to the present it would erase any traces of you in the past, in the photo?

@@chriswest8389 Good question Chris but no. When the machine travels backwards it moves directly on the worldline it begins from. Then when you turn it off (that dreaded 'purple smell' if you hum it long enough to go back to the 1940s) a new worldline is created - one with you and the machine in it then - because you weren't there before. Then, when you reverse it and come back to 2044, the machine travels down that newly-created worldline, meaning that you are still in any photos taken then.

I would go back to the past to right a wrong. When I was younger I was very eager & a "work-a-holic" While trying to get somewhere with my career I ruin a good marriage.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. It's tough to balance personal goals and relationships. Reflecting on the past like this takes a lot of courage. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Not bad for a startup channel. Subscribed to help you get going. I would point out that Time Dilation only affects how the arrow of time affects you relative to others at different speeds. It DOES NOT affect the direction of the arrow of time at all. Hypothetically you might be able to reverse the arrow of time by exceeding the speed of light not that not only breaks the laws of physics and all our observations but also would require exceeding the speed of light by a large factor to have an appreciable amount of reverse-time to have passed.
It's questionable as to what would occur with a reversal of the arrow of time. Would you rewind like tape? I find that unlikely. I think you would experience reverse effects to the passage of time. So you would grow younger as time passed for you. Objects would not decay but would probably not "self-repair". Not sure how that kind of reversal would affect us on a cellular, molecular, or even quantum level.

I have seen the past and out lived my regrets and grief....I would go forward....I want to see the world 300 years from now when most theoretical ideas will have been realized if possible.
I wonder what people in that future will dream of?...
.What the goals will be after we reach our current ideas.
We will either be on the moon Mars and Venus or we will be in medievil times again.
I can see the Moon as half Vegas abd half mining facility....and Mars and Venus as agricultural and scientific communities
The language will have changed some but should be fundamentally the same with alot of new words.
On earth new tech will be becoming cheap and filtering down to the third worlds.
Hopefully independant States will survive as a world government would not be very efficient....
human nature wont change that much.....I think capitalism will still be the system in play with trillionares like billionares today.
I have small hope of getting to see it but I dont think its a zero chance....flukes, technology and some extremely long odds dont mean its impossible just very, very unlikely.....
Even if I am a Boltzman Brain it will still be cool, though it would limit my dating options.
Anything not impossible will eventually happen....repeatedly.
At some point if the Universe lasts long enough I will in some form reach and see the world 300 years from now.....even if its already become a billion years in the past.
Because I wont experience the passing of time it will appear that I will just become aware 300 years from now.
So that extremely small chance has just become a certainty.
    See you there....
