If you are getting bit while turning that will tell you if you need to slow down or speed up a little bit. While turning the inside lure will slow down and the outside lure will speed up, an old timer taught me that and it has really helped in dialing in the speed that the fish want that day!
You can set trolling motor straight ahead and turn boat with big motor for more speed adjustment. I have a little 14’ flat bottom that I learned to troll with, now have a 20’ SeaArk pulling 8 rods. Flicker Shad’s and Bandits are my favorites.

How do you have your rod holders mounted to your boat?
They are the clamp on style, I think they are $19.99 a piece on amazon. You just clamp them on then adjust them up/down and side to side
