Delsin I know how the old Metrowagonmash trains sound because we have a lot of EVs from the 70s, 81-714s and 81-717s from the 80s and also a couple of 81-717-2s from the year 2000 in Budapest
Russitsch 740-741 metro trains... Sofia is the only city outside of Russia where you can find these... some of these trains even have air condition - still quite rare on metro trains.
Uplifting PostTower Those do, as well as 5-6 doors per side (trains without AC have only 4). Also Bulgarian units have Hitachi inverters and traction motors
*Rusich 81-740/741 Only thing is inside is uncomfortable, low ceilings, short seats. This is wretchedness. I know the brand new 2017 Moscow 81-765/766/767 metro train entered it's service on 14th April 2017 (2 more entered it's service this month), it's more comfortable, advanced and innovative than all other Moscow metro trains like Ezh-3/Em-508T (81-710), Nomernoy 81-717.5/714.5, Yauza 81-720/721, Rusich 81-740/741 and Oka 81-760/761. Moscow 81-765/766/767 trains are replacing Ezh-3/Em-508T (81-710) trains and Nomernoy 81-717.5/714.5 trains. Moscow - it's just a modified Oka. Just made a through passage, put the handrails in the middle and removed part of the seats. I remember that derailment happened on Line 3 of the Moscow Metro, catastrophe happened between Victory Park and Slavyansky Boulevard. 24 killed, 271 injured. First three Rusich trains broken down on the tunnel in July 2014. Went off the rails and crashed into the tunnel wall.

The last time I visited Sofia, February 2006, a day pass for the metro was about 90p / 1.10 €. There was only one line and Serdika was the eastern terminus. Only trams went by the central rail station. St Kliment Ohridsky was just a pit at that time.
81-717.4/714.4 trains are only 12 so you have to wait under half an hour to get one. The new ones are 81-740.2/741.2 and 81-740.2Б/741.2Б, that series designed for light rail metros and run on overground sections. That's made between 2004 and 2013 (except Moscow is 2002 and 2013). Also new ones are Metrowagonmash.
Awesome! The trams there are quite nice there as well, they have some nice old trams and some Pesa 102Na Swing trams delivered from Poland, they're worth checking out.

I've heard that 1989-1990 81-717.4/714.4 trains will be modernized next year, WHY?!?! It's the youngest metro since 1998!!! They are in excellent condition as of now!!! Contract gotten as of 6th December to Metrowagonmash.
in bulgaria there are old 70s bulgarian elprom lifts (елпром in bulgarian) and only a little bit of them are modernised. and they are usually located in tower blocks. and also i am pretty sure that you can open their landing doors with a simple screwdriver!

I saw a Metrovagonmash train in Sofia but it was not in service. All the other trains were new. How often are Metrovagonmash run in Sofia nowadays.

Do those lifts even have an inspection control. That is going to be so dodgy to go on top.
probably the modernised ones have inspection control, but i"m not sure about the ones that are not modernised
I was born in Bulgaria on April 11, 1995
