One of the greatest singers in metal. It’s a shame this fella couldn’t cement a long term position in a band. Tim deserves much more than to be known as the ‘stand in’ guy...
alot of people critisize ripper owens time in judas priest but i dont know why . if anything he should get praise for taking the place of the metal god halford after he left priest . those were some pretty big shoes to try to fill and ripper did a damn fine job at it .
Agreed. Unlike a lot of frontman changes with bands during the 90s, he kept true as best as he could the vocal range of Halford while of course adding his own flare.
Rob Halford is one of the greatest metal singers of all time. Ripper did an amazing job of filling his spot for the time he was in the band. I've seen Priest live with both. And both were fucking awesome 🤘🏼
Been a Judas Priest fan since 1982, I was in sixth grade riding my bike in the woods and found a Playboy magazine and laying next to it was the tape Unleashed in the East. Mom found the Playboy but I wore that tape out and I can say it changed my life and made me a life long fan. Ripper filled big shoes, respected the opportunity and did a great job.
Reticent fans where never prepared for admire someone who was better than his adored metal god, by far Ripper's vocals and power was over what Halford done even in his best days
Tim can sing anything metal. In Cleveland he was in a band called US METAL. They did some priest of course, but also merciful fate, King Diamond and many other great vocal tunes, and he nailed them with ease.
I saw him live as part of Dio Disciples singing Dio/Black Sabbath tunes. He nailed them too. He must be one of the most underrated Metal singers alive!
I love this song,Desert Plains! I could listen to it on repeat everyday for the rest of my life! So clean of tone from everyone! I also like the way Tim shakes his jaw to get every word out. What a special time to be alive!
Guy is good understudy that's bout it. It's like he goes thru the motions but just doesn't bring it home. He is good like I said but at tribute band level. Come on man. I seen Rob in his prime this dude's age at 2001 and it's good very good Rob ran circles round this ripper character at same age
@@precinct1baltimorecountyre588 Lol. Your opinion, but Tim can sing anything, all day. He destroyed Halford on Diamonds and Rust. He hit notes Rob hadn't done clean in years. Ripper is on the rushmore of all time great metal singers.
As much as i love priest & 1st heard them with Rob & thought no one could ever replace him,Tim sure as hell can hit the notes & he even sounds clearer & better then Rob,Tim has it all,the guy can sing & it shows with all the many projects he has going for him
I haven't seen this footage for about 18 years!! I recently been playing the LIVE METAL MELTDOWN cd...and really appreciate that era of PRIEST with RIpper Owens. What great pipes! Was perfect for Priest at the time.
Yeah he did an awesome job. Has his own style which also kicks ass. Has lower register in his vocals. He definitely stepped up to the plate. Rob Halford is still the metal god. Kudos to the Ripper!!🤘🎤🎶
I got turned on to Priest in '79 and own every album they have made. Jugulator is my favorite. People gave them a hard time for changing but i loved it.
Kk Downing is bringing back Priest real soon with The Ripper back as the vocalist now that he’s out the band So this is a great example of what to expect 🤞🏻🙏🏼🎉
Jugulator я не сразу воспринял, а вот Demolution вообще зашло на ура! Хотя воспринимаю эти альбомы, как что-то отдельное от Judas Priest, слушаю их и сейчас
If they carry on with Ripper on vocals that would be great. He's got what it takes to sing Priest he's proven that long ago. A new album with them all would be awesome! The last one , not so great. It's good to see K.K playing along side Glen again that's for sure.
Firepower is probably the best album they have put out since Painkiller. Give it a few more listens. There are almost no weak tracks and many really good ones. Traitor's Gate, Spectre, Rising from Ruins...
This guy is better than Halford, he can copy anybody's style, he does Dickinson extremely well, along with Dio and many other greats, he's a jack of all voices, not just Halford...!!!
Ripper saved Priest and did an amazing job. Unreal vocals.
THE Man is the new Metal God.
I'm 100% with you on that one, mate.
One of the greatest singers in metal. It’s a shame this fella couldn’t cement a long term position in a band. Tim deserves much more than to be known as the ‘stand in’ guy...
Amen!
Kk's priest. He's killing it
Everybody loves original lineups, but Tim did a good job. I'd cheer him on any day.
Rob was a god already, they just created another one...what a voice...hate the cap though :(
That sus leather cap is cool tho?
I’ll take Ripper and KK over the current guys any day … including Halford/ Papa Smurf
The best version of Desert Plains I’ve heard. Ripper is an amazing musician
One of the most underrated vocals.

Tim brought in younger fans that would never have attended JP concerts otherwise.
Tim saved Priest.
Agreed! He makes want to get a Monster.
People should be thankful they didn't hire Blaze Bayley.
Dude has a hell of a voice.
I can only agree! Check him out on KK’s Priest :)
The Ripper is one of the best metal vocalists ever.
Ripper rules 🤘🤘
Indeed
For sure!
Great to see Tim and Ken smashing Metal for 6 in Kk's Priest, 2024!!!

double jake. Amazing story! Thanks for sharing 🤘
I absolutely agree!!
He IS still a great singer...look: K.K. Downing-Before The Dawn,KK'S Steel Mill-Sunday 03.11.2019.
Unleashed was my first Priest album as well. Still one of my favorite albums ever. Amazing band!
LOL I wonder what moms actually thought we they found our playboys mags...
He nailed it in the sentinel!!!!!
Damn right he did. He finds a way to make it both the same and different.
Ripper is a fuckin great 🤘🏼🤘🏼
The Ripper at his best. Phenomenal. Love it!
Marietje D yes he is!
And he starts the songs with a a very bad ass priest song I friggen love fuck yeah 🤟
Reticent fans where never prepared for admire someone who was better than his adored metal god, by far Ripper's vocals and power was over what Halford done even in his best days
the audio quality in this rehearsal was better than the live gig one.
Tim Ripper
kills!!!!! Great singer! I know from Winters Bane´s years :)
I enjoyed this incarnation of Priest. I bought the CDs when they came out. Good stuff that seems underappreciated by fans and the band themselves.
Tim can sing anything metal. In Cleveland he was in a band called US METAL. They did some priest of course, but also merciful fate, King Diamond and many other great vocal tunes, and he nailed them with ease.
I thought he was in a cover band called Winters Bane.
@@robertbishop5357 Winter Bane was one of his bands as well...they did alot of originals. US Metal was all copies if my memory is correct.
I saw him live as part of Dio Disciples singing Dio/Black Sabbath tunes. He nailed them too.
He must be one of the most underrated Metal singers alive!
@@TheOnemanmoshpit He is great.
When Tim and Oni Logan was taking turns it was great.
Had a new respect for the lead guitar player as well.
He was in a band called British Steel and Seattle as well.
He did his job so well that you can tell the whole band had peace of mind.
Ripper f****** rips it here boys I loved it
Just this morning Ripper Owens released a Dio tribute with Metal Piano and it sounds EPIC!
I love this song,Desert Plains! I could listen to it on repeat everyday for the rest of my life! So clean of tone from everyone! I also like the way Tim shakes his jaw to get every word out. What a special time to be alive!
Tim is so underrated! He should be up there with Dio, King Diamond, and Hanford.
King is on a Level all his own!
But yea Tim was solid as RJD, one rung below Halford and Tate.
Throw Eric Adams into that mix please.
Guy is good understudy that's bout it. It's like he goes thru the motions but just doesn't bring it home. He is good like I said but at tribute band level. Come on man. I seen Rob in his prime this dude's age at 2001 and it's good very good Rob ran circles round this ripper character at same age

I love this version with Tim!
Everyone Hail the Ripper.....and give him standing ovation. He deserves it. .....period😎😎😎😎🤗🤗🤗🤗

Priest is also looking good here too especially Tipton now Ripper with the icing on the cake
The Ripper years of Judas Priest are like the Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated of Judas Priest! So awesome, love Ripper 🤘!
Man. Dude has skills.
I haven't seen this footage for about 18 years!! I recently been playing the LIVE METAL MELTDOWN cd...and really appreciate that era of PRIEST with RIpper Owens. What great pipes! Was perfect for Priest at the time.
Desert plains - Great song from JP - and a great version of this song with Tim Owens
Yeah he did an awesome job. Has his own style which also kicks ass. Has lower register in his vocals. He definitely stepped up to the plate. Rob Halford is still the metal god. Kudos to the Ripper!!🤘🎤🎶
Young Timothy S "Ripper" Owens.... Awesome! Tim is the best heavy metal vocalist in the business!
yes...with KK now
FOREVER MY FAVORITE RIDING TUNE
yes ...RIPPER RULES...
Fuck yeah!! Ripper Owens voice ROCKS!!
I got turned on to Priest in '79 and own every album they have made. Jugulator is my favorite. People gave them a hard time for changing but i loved it.
Tim is a freakin beast!
Ripper is quite impressive ... no question about it.
Thid guy is, just amazing! Cannot wait for KK Priest album'!
saw priest with ripper he was great
Great timing and great exposure for both parties talk about being in the right place at the right time.
Kk Downing is bringing back Priest real soon with The Ripper back as the vocalist now that he’s out the band

Kk not descarted live show by kk's priest playing music jugulator and demolition.
Damn what a voice, awesome
Dude is good!
Only 1 Ron Halford
@@AEMachinas I agree, but dude is still good. :)
ripper is fantastic. great great voice
This is the best version of Desert Plains, in my opinion. Ripper is a legend and he's killing it with the new band.
Wish I would seen this version of Judas Priest
seen them in concert twice with ripper the best
Wow he nailed desert plains
Ripper was brilliant!
Absolutely shreds!!!
Hands down, best line up and performances.
Kk's guitar sound reminds me of the Priest I loved.
Saw them and met them on this tour in Anaheim. Great show and great guys! Especially Ripper and Ian!
glen tipton and kk are legends !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is great !
Saw them on Halloween night in NYC with Ripper, it was a great show.
Damn!!!! I love your voice so powerful!!!
Cara!!! Que som...isso é magnífico.como eu gosto desse som, perfeito.Tim ripper é muito bom demais...
timay is amazing
Thanks for sharing this.
Sem palavras. Que vocal! Que banda! As músicas antigas ficaram melhores! Isso é quase impossível! O que estou vendo aqui?!
Saw them twice w/ this lineup @ the Newport in Columbus Ohio & I’ll never B the same...
This guy SINGS!
Love his voice. There's only one Halford but Tim did a great job. Plus he's hot
Great voice for sure, listen to The Glorious Burden by Iced Earth. Amazing!!
It is like your own personal Priest concert.......pretty good !!
Ripper Owens is one of the Best
Awesome
Jugulator is in my top 5 JP records of all time 🤘🏻
Great just great
Only thing I can say is WOW! Great singing buddy. I see the rest of the band still has their chops as well. 👍🏼
Hermoso ❤❤❤
Jugulator я не сразу воспринял, а вот Demolution вообще зашло на ура! Хотя воспринимаю эти альбомы, как что-то отдельное от Judas Priest, слушаю их и сейчас
Gracias a Tim, Judas sobrevivió
RIPPER F**KIN' RULES!!!
🤘❤❤🎤❤❤🤘
14:13 gives me goosebumps every time!!!!!
nice lineup of Judas Priest in their career period
Awesome!
Another level
I see ripper and ex priest drummer les bunks teamed up with kk downing on a new group
I saw them jam at KK's Steel Mill in England, on CZcams. Haven't heard if they're going to tour tho.
@@scout805 I bet when the new album comes out then they will do the tour circuit
@@norms3913 You've heard they're recording material?
@@scout805 no I haven't heard I just recently read kk and past members got together to form a group and is going to make a album
They have a new album coming out guys...ripper finished the vocals and got back to America just before corona
if people didn't know judas priest and rob halford they would accept this version of this band
There is some truth to your statement, but how many guys could pull this off? Ripper was a great replacement when they were in need.
@@thorpenator9148 well yes i mean he was
a singer in a judas priest tribute band lol
Machine Man is on of my top 10 metal songs!
For a mere sound check, Ripper is really unloading😱
That's was beautiful
I so still wish the movie Rockstar had stuck with the original plot of having it be about ripper and priest!! 🤘🤘
Un gran vocalista!!!
Burn in hell off jugulator is my fav work of his. I spoke to ripper on the phone! Hes a great guy. I'm going to see his club in ohio someday.
Harvey Putnick he closed his club up a couple of years ago.
Almost 2 decades after leaving JP ripper reunites with KK for KKS priest
