    I was accused of being legalistic in the charismatic churches when I would talk about my life experiences and bring the bible into it. Such as the pearl of great price and the root of bitterness. Bless you for this

    What strikes me, as I enter into watching this video, is the class size. I've known a number of "Pastors" in my life, and I have noticed a good number of the younger ones leave their Pastoral ministries, for the secular work environment. It's a tough job, being a "Pastor." I've seen it up close and personal. Even some of those who are truly "Called" to it, will abandon it. So as I view a classroom of this size, I am first of all amazed that there are THAT many IN the classes there; and then secondly, I find myself wondering how many of them will not continue on to actual Pastoral Ministries, or will walk away. (Just making some observations is all. This is not a critique of this Seminary or any other).

      nutmegger1957 what is good about this seminary is they care greatly about the accurate interpretation of scripture, this usually expels many false converts.

    1:28:27 he never preached through books in the bible? That's odd I have the entire "The treasury of David" printed by Funk and wagnalls in 1886 in my library. It has C. H. Spurgen as the author. It is the entire book of Psalms. In the title page, it says "an original exposition of the book of Psalms;" Anyway just to clear that statement up. This is a great video by Dr. Steve Lawson. I have taken detailed notes. Thank God for the Transcript, that makes taking notes a lot easier.

      If they don't know it, it's not felt.
      It is their real need, whether they know it or not. What they feel they need is a different matter altogether.

      Have you read the account of Jesus walking with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, after His resurrection? He took them to the scriptures, beginning with Moses and the prophets, and explained to them how those scriptures foretold the death of the Messiah. He explained what they had not understood previously. That would have to be expositional preaching.(That wasn't the only time He went to the Old Testament scriptures to teach His hearers about His Father and Himself.)

      speaktruth inlove Discernment is not just knowing what is right and what is wrong; but rather it is knowing the difference between what is right and what is almost right, so no, I don't feel cheated, but thanks for your comment.

      christians still have plenty to offer even if they don't use the bible version you like. by the way, erasmus was a roman catholic. i don't let that stop me from using the kjv. to be consistent, you would have to bail on the kjv if you are so willing to bail on this guy. like i said, erasmus was a roman catholic humanist. at least lawson is evangelical. to be logical, you have more reason to listen to lawson than to use your kjv. i use the kjv, regardless of erasmus.

      speaktruth inlove I think you should be more concerned about Westcott & Hort than Erasmus. Three Doctrines you should consider with regard to God's Word.
      1. Inspiration. 2 Timothy 3;16
      2..Translation.. Isiaiah 28;11
      2 Preservation. Psalm 12;6,7.
      NIV has 64000 words missing against the KJB (Why??)
      It is up to you to show me in Scripture where I have permission to use more than 1 Bible.
      Why have the modern versions removed LUCIFER in Isaiah 14?
      I could go on

    • @speaktruthinlove119
      @speaktruthinlove119 Před 9 lety +1

      i am concerned about westcott and hort, that's why i don't use new versions. that being said, there are plenty of genuine Christians using other versions who will be in heaven, contrary to most of the kjv-onlyists who say otherwise. i have had to remove myself from the kjv only crowd because they demonstrate pride and hatred, rather than lovingly speaking the truth.
