Was that some of her family? She does thank daughter Mimi and her nephews & neices in the closing credits. I thought the folk at the end was her band and the acts (e.g.Musical Youth) who'd played on the set-list that night?

Because they dressed the backing singers as black diner 'waitresses' and there was some very young children, I thought she'd portrayed the final stage as "normal, average everyone". That was just my first, and only, impression. ymmv? 👍 🙂

Then this song played and I just burst into tears. My sister and Mum thought it was the weirdest thing. I couldn't articulate what it was then. Now I can. It was the only way my young mind and soul could react to a work of such beauty. It was visceral and divine. Thank you Lord for blessing us with Donna Summer.

My favorite song of hers. We baby boomers are SO SAD to hear the news of her passing. SHE was the 70's. The greatest time musically & the funnest time of our lives! God did we have FUN. No worries...so carefree. Todays kids have NO IDEA what they will never experience. We had it SO much better. And those disco's were a BLAST to go to. Always packed & EVERYONE dancing their hearts out.

Tell your Dad you love him. Tell your mum you love her. Tell your wife. Tell your husband. Tell your sister and brother. It's too late to tell them when they are gone. We love you Donna, god bless. Yours is a special talent and dignity that will always live. Rest In Peace. x

She died in 2012 from lung cancer. Some attributed to heavy smoking as a young girl, and some to the 9/11 World Trade Center attack. I just cry when I think of the loss of this beautiful, extremely talented woman. Love the music! ! R.I.P. from a fan in 2020

I was rehearsing classical music for my choir, and this came up. I have listened to it many, many times...... so moving. I remember first listening to this on Mr Cairo, by Jon and Van Gelis..... but this is on another level. Truly great, and heart rending.

Man I remember watching A HOT Summer night by the late Donna summer on HBO back in )1983 I was just three yrs old she was the queen of disco/ R&B/ and pop
She worked very hard for the money, had dimmed all the lights, looked for hot stuff, created a dinner with Gershwin, and yes she was a very "Bad Girl"
Cause this time we knew it was for real.😊
