His hand mudras are different to mine gelug tradition particularly Gyuto but this is the same as offering bowls except in meditation form where offering bowls are both meditation tantric practice and physical.with the actual bowls. Offerings are made to a very complex array of Buddhas and holy beings and holy lands...done properly all sentient beings are receiving the merit and blessings. Combining compassion and wisdom with concentration it is a powerful practice to be able to attain the right conditions to attain enlightenment. As with all tantric practices it is a complete practice combbining morality, compassion, concentration and wisdom and a fast path to enlightenment. People might mistake highest tatric yoga practces as superior but they would be missing that many practices (if not all) of mahayana Buddhism are complete tantric practices...offering mandala and making offerings were/are my favourite practices (so many are).
