Yes she was bad in Dynasty. But in her defense, Catherine Oxenberg was given such horrible dialogues and her character was just a whiny brat who kept making the worst mistakes. Amanda was unbearable and had no sense of humor or second degree as opposed to other female characters like Alexis, Fallon 1 or Sammy Jo. She didn’t have Krystle’s or Claudia’s vulnerability. She was a privileged little rich girl who had everything to be happy and who was never satisfied. So I don’t think any actress could have made Amanda really more interesting. She was meant to be played like a pouty girl who takes herself too seriously. And it’s hard to play when you have such lines.
This was a good starting point and plum acting role this was for Catherine Oxenburg!!! She was perfect for the role of Amanda. Lucky girl, and Blake Carringtons daughter!!!🙂😊👱♀️👍
I like the outfit too (particularly the fabric which looks like suede) but I do have to say that the matching hat part with the drape around the shoulders (and all that fur) is what makes the outfit a bit weird for me.

If the writers wanted Amanda to be the child of both Alexis and Blake, the easiest thing to say would be that they had conceived Amanda shortly before Blake found Alexis in bed with Roger Grimes. That way Alexis could say that after she left Denver, she realized a month or so later that she was pregnant, but wasn't certain who the father was (either Blake or Roger). Either way, she worried if Blake found out about the new baby, he'd take her away from Alexis (possibly even regardless if it was his child or not). That would justify Alexis hiding Amanda all these years, and why she would insist that Blake wasn't Amanda's father: Alexis was madly in love with Roger Grimes, so she probably nursed the fantasy that Amanda was their love-child. But a simple blood test proves that Amanda truly is a Carrington. And there'd be no, "It was a ski instructor!" "There was no ski instructor!" "There were SEVERAL ski instructors!" "I'll bet!"
It was revealed that Blake and Alexis had a three month reconciliation which went down the toilet when Blake found out Alexis went to see Roger Grimes in the hospital the moment his back was turned. That was the last straw for him and he banished Alexis from Denver.

It is easy to see Amanda can't act, her her voice, her tone, her movements, it's amateurish, it's like she is practicing, reading, before her final act. It's just so unreal, you see the act but no character, soul. She is just like a robot
watched this show as a kid n recall this episode....might have been distracted n the magnitude Christina's statements never registered...ummm...well no they do...this has to be the dumbest storyline i have ever watched.....she has called the wrong women mother for my entire life...WTF?...implausible what women with the slightest maternal instincts is in the same house has her child listening to her call another women mommy...this was a leap n a huge one....they cld have done better...
