Tariq Nasheed produced the 2011 documentary film Hidden Colors: The Untold History of People of Aboriginal, Moor, and African Descent. Nasheed's follow-up film and DVD, Hidden Colors 2: The Triumph of Melanin, was released in 2012. He just recently released the theatrically released "Microphone Check" as well.
Tariq Nasheed is known online for his controversial commentary on race. He is a proponent of "Foundational Black Americans" (FBA), an ideology and movement he founded, which is defined as, "any person classified as Black, who can trace their bloodline lineage back to the American system of slavery. To be designated as an FBA, at least one parent must come from a non-immigrant background in The United States of America." Nasheed believes FBAs must "seek out reparations for their own" and that American-born descendants of the American slave trade have not adequately sought out resources for themselves.

It's perfectly natural, for younger folks to make mistakes, that's why they call them juveniles. That label is an age group, not a color. What we can do is pay more attention to the kids from 1st grade to the 8th grade. After that, let them come to the help. We must focus and bring it to those is that age range. Teaching them how to think opposed to what to think!

It’s like listening to someone talking for years about why their kitchen floor is dirty. While they’re talking, the floor is still dirty. It’s better to observe that the floor is dirty and then to go get your broom and dustpan and get the sweeping already. It’s not that complex.
These type of topics are money grabs in that they’re rage bait and circular discussions with no aim of solutions. My grandfather was an informationalist and he told me that there’s many in that field who want no solution so that they can fill the seats and entertain people with these circular discussions.

So when these types of people make excuses, Tariq has the gift of gab to influence failures that it's someone else's fault! Thank you again for challenging him with constructive dialog.

      Shout-out King Flex
      Shout-out to 'Holding Court' (HC)
      OK.....
      Brother HC, hear me please:
Black empowerment is a multi-faceted state of being, and the states of awareness it encompasses, too, are multi-faceted.
You mentioned how you had a moment wherein you became aware of self-h8 (when you were looking at the other Brother) - you expressed that this encounter caused you to self-examine and recalibrate.
Well HC, the recalibration doesn't end there: For even after one "rehabilitates" themselves, there are other ways in which THE EXACT SAME _instinct_ - if you will - can manifest itself. And gauging from your conversation, you still have some inner-examination and purging within to do.
When we adopt the same talking points as those that do not have our best interest in mind, and like this ilk, provide no historicity to whatever dynamic we're addressing, we - whether willingly or not - become proponents of narratives that justify us being ill-treated by other groups.
      Respectfully, Peace.

Unfortunately, a lot of our FBA doesn't understand how to make the distinction between Black Culture and Black Sub-Culture, which every community has that Sub-Culture that they do not want to display and will speak out against that Sub-Culture of their community, FBA is the only community that isn't allow to make that distinction which is very apparent. Just look at the Italian, Jews, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Irish, all of them have a Sub-Culture that they frown upon.

The main issue is that we do not control any land. Land create freedom. If we do not own our land politically, economically, socially, educationally then we have no real power. Other folks who migrate to America has a country of origin that is owned by their ethnicity. We as black Americans don't own or control any land militarily in Africa or America.

6:48 good reply. because people always try to make it seem like Black people are doing something that is exclusive to black people. and thats completely false. the things u think black people do the most are things that are being done by millions within every culture on this planet. yet when we're analyzed, we tend to be OVER analyzed. and the purpose of the over analyzation is to make black people seem interior to other groups. when that pov are spewed by people who are black themselves, its a bad look.
Btw, the Sista said Black Men keep sleeping around and making kids that they dont want to be bothered with. And despite this being bad behavior, its a behavior that we know many men will continue to have for a long time. But when u examine the follow up for that situation, at what point do u hold the woman accountable as well? Because for the most part, most of the people born in the USA, over the last 50+ years are mostly here because of a final decision that was made by a woman. If she didnt want to have the baby, she could go get rid of it and the clinic wont even ask for the Fathers opinion; despite the child belonging to Father just as much as the Mother. At what point will Women pay attention to the red flags, that many men usually show waaaayyy before a baby is created/born, then start to adjust their standard/make better final decisions?

To speak in a general sense, I think the reason why that propaganda is pushed heavy is because it generates money as well as, on a macro level, is a means of cultural and social engineering to herd society in a specific direction. Think is knocking one domino over and it knocks the rest over. It promotes a very circular train of thought aimed at black people to internalize these type of narratives and to manifest them via actions. Control the image control the narrative control the mind. That’s what makes this stuff potentially dangerous.
