AM players getting cooked left right and centre
Sprial, Fractal... all these maps with absolutely fixed resource positions and map layout are terrible. Memorize the map and you know exactly where to check for your opponent taking gold, berries, etc. Not approximately. Precisely.
To me, AoE2 is characterized by random maps, and these are not that. No likey.
I tend to agree with you but not when it's at the highest level. Players shouldn't be able to win because of randomness. It's also going to make the games a lot smoother because there isn't any need for restarts.
